Where is that Brahmin? The Venerable Carka said: What kind of Brahmin? He said: The Brahmin has matted hair. The Venerable Carka transformed himself into a person with matted hair, and when the Brahmin was amazed, he said: Venerable Carka, why have you come? To subdue you. Venerable Carka, please stay here for that purpose and do the work of eating. The Venerable Carka stayed there and did the work of eating, and the Brahmin and his wife sat in front of the Venerable Carka to listen to the Dharma. The Venerable Carka understood his thoughts, habits, nature, and essence, and thus, the Brahmin and his wife, while sitting on the same seat, destroyed the twenty high mountains of the view of the perishable aggregates with the vajra of wisdom, manifested the fruit of stream-entry, and thus taught the Dharma. Having seen the truth, he said: Venerable, I rely on the virtuous friend Venerable Carka. What Venerable Carka has done for me, my father has not done for me, nor has my mother done for me, nor has the king done for me, nor have the gods done for me, nor have the ancestors of the past done for me, nor have the ascetics and Brahmins done for me, nor have the loving ones and friends, and the assembly of relatives done for me. The ocean of blood and tears has been dried up, rescued from the mountain of bones, the gates of the lower realms have been closed, the gates to higher realms and liberation have been opened, sentient beings have been pulled out from hell, animals, and hungry ghosts, and placed among gods and humans, samsara has been ended, the twenty high mountains of the view of the perishable aggregates accumulated from beginningless time have been destroyed by the vajra of wisdom, and the fruit of stream-entry has been obtained. Venerable Carka, I have entered the stream. Venerable, I have entered the stream. Venerable, I take refuge in the Bhagavan, the Dharma, and the Sangha of monks. Please accept me as a lay follower. From now until the end of my life, I take refuge with complete joy from the depths of my heart. Venerable Carka, until the end of my life, my alms, clothes, and dwelling

What arrangements do you have for the causes of illness and medical supplies? The Venerable Eka said: Ordination is to join the ranks of followers in order to benefit others, so other Brahmins should also be benefited, and then he did not accept. After that, the Venerable Eka tamed and settled two Brahmin families in Shravasti (Shravasti, the capital of the Kingdom of Kosala in India in the 6th century BC). The Venerable Eka thought: When is the time to tame? In Shravasti (Shravasti, the capital of the Kingdom of Kosala in India in the 6th century BC) there was a stingy Brahmin whose wife liked jewelry. The Venerable Eka thought: Now is the time to tame that Brahmin. So, the Venerable Eka disguised himself as a jeweler and went to his house, shouting: Who wants to buy jewelry, who wants to buy jewelry? The Brahmin woman heard it and asked: How much do these jewels sell for? The Venerable Eka said: These jewels are expensive, but they will be given for a small reward. The Venerable Eka hid the jeweler's disguise and restored his own attire. The Brahmin was surprised and asked: Venerable Eka, why are you here? It is to tame you. Venerable Eka, please stay here for this purpose and do the work of eating. The Venerable Eka stayed there and did the work of eating. The Brahmin and his wife sat in front of the Venerable Eka to listen to the Dharma. The Venerable Eka understood his thoughts, habits, roots and nature. In this way, the Brahmin and his wife sat in the same seat, and with the Vajra of Wisdom, they destroyed the twenty towering peaks of the mountain of bad gathering views, and attained the fruit of entering the stream, thus expounding the Dharma. After seeing the truth, he said: Venerable, I rely on the virtuous friend Venerable Eka. What Venerable Eka has done for me, my father has not done for me, my mother has not done for me, the king has not done for me, the gods have not done for me, the ancestors of the past have not done for me, the Shramanas and Brahmins have not done for me, nor have the loving ones, friends and relatives. I, the monk, go for refuge to the Bhagavan, the Dharma, and the Sangha of monks. I request you to accept me as a lay follower. From this day forward, until the end of my life, I take refuge with great joy from the depths of my heart. Monk Charka, would you be willing to accept my alms, clothing, lodging, necessities for illness, and medicine until the end of my life? The venerable Charka said: Ordination is joining the ranks of those who benefit others by following and accepting, so one should also benefit other Brahmins, saying this, he did not accept. Then, the venerable Charka tamed and settled two Brahmin families in Shravasti. The venerable Charka thought: When is the time to tame? In Shravasti, there was a sick Brahmin, who was annoyed by the doctors with bitter, spicy, and astringent medicines. Therefore, he instructed the gatekeeper, saying: Do not let any doctors in. The venerable Charka thought: Now is the time to tame that Brahmin. So, the venerable Charka disguised himself as a doctor and came to the door of that Brahmin's house, saying: A doctor has come. The gatekeeper said: The Brahmin instructed me, saying: Do not let any doctors in, so I have been placed here for that very reason. The venerable Charka said: Go and tell the Brahmin that a doctor has come, and he says that he will neither give medicine nor ask for a reward, but will cure him with secret mantras. The gatekeeper went and told the Brahmin these words in detail. He said: Let him in. The venerable Charka entered and cured him with secret mantras, the venerable
