Nachedpa. (Sanskrit: Nākṣatpada, meaning "not falling into evil states"). What is the most excellent teaching that the Blessed One has shown to those who desire to learn, those who respect learning, and those who have obtained the means for learning? For that reason, seek the footprints (of the Buddha) here as well! This is the monastery of the venerable Nanda. This is Near Joy's. This is Desire's. This is Swift Goer's. This is Nabso's. This is my monastery. Shall we look at this one too? Holy one, after we have seen all the monasteries, shall we then look at the monastery of the holy Charka? We very much want to see this monastery of the holy Charka now. Sisters, do so! The venerable Charka is one who practices desire, so from his monastery, the ground is smeared with mon bean flour, the walls are bright and very bright, a mattress with the essence of a calf is laid out, ten pots filled with drinking water are placed with containers, and the cupboard is filled with various foods. The venerable Charka said to the many wives of Brahmins and householders who came to his monastery: Sisters, who will make jekhyu (a type of food)? Or drink a beverage? Holy one, will the river flow backwards? Will the holy one grant us whatever we ask of the holy one? Like this, grant us what we lack. Sisters, what do you lack? Holy one, it is listening to the Dharma! Sisters, the Blessed One said that the six things that appear in the world are rare and wonderful. What are these six? The Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly Enlightened One, and the Dharma and Vinaya spoken by the Tathagata, a human body, birth in the central land, complete faculties, and desire for virtuous Dharma. It is well said that you have given rise to a desire for virtuous Dharma, which is like the appearance of a Buddha. Excellent, excellent! Sisters, please sit down, and I will teach you the Dharma. They prostrated to his two feet and sat in front to listen to the Dharma, and he taught them the Dharma.

Completed. Vinaya-vibhanga, Volume Sixty-six. That girl was also fond of watching the fun, so she looked at the pictures and went elsewhere. Those people also listened to the Dharma, prostrated to the feet of the Venerable Upali, and then came out of the monastery. That girl did not notice that the others had already come out, and was still looking at the pictures at the entrance. The Venerable Upali sent those people away and was about to enter the monastery when he saw that girl at the entrance, and said to her: Girl, haven't you left yet? She smiled, and Upali kissed her, smelled her limbs and details, smelled everywhere. That girl cried and ran out, went to her father and said: Father, the Shramana Upali has separated me from my youth. That Brahmin thought: If I argue a little now, I am alone, and they are many, they will harm me, I should find a place where I can find friends, so that I can fight back. Between Jeta Grove and Shravasti, there is a forest, where there is a Brahmin, who is having about five hundred Brahmin children recite the secret mantras of the Brahmins. That Brahmin said to them: Wise ones, the Shramana Upali has separated my daughter from her youth, you are those who practice the same Brahma-conduct as me, please be my friends! Those Brahmins, because they are non-discriminating, took up sticks and went there. The Venerable Upali was walking at the entrance of Jeta Grove, they grabbed him and started dragging him, but they couldn't even move him. The Blessed One knew that the time for taming had come, so he weakened his strength, and those people dragged the Venerable Upali back and forth. The Venerable Upali thought: Does the Blessed One not care that I am being harmed, frightened, and uncomfortable? The Blessed One thought: This is the final teaching on this matter, so it is good to be taken away. Then, the Blessed One related the foundation of King Prasenajit's palace in Kosala...

While sleeping, he was awakened by the sound of a conch shell and told: Great King, do not be rash, observe carefully. The Blessed One twice and thrice awakened King Prasenajit of Kosala, who was sleeping on the foundation of the palace, with the sound of a conch shell, and told him: Great King, do not be rash, observe carefully. Those Brahmins also brought the venerable Torch to the gate of the king's palace. Then, at the gate of the king's palace, many ordinary people made loud noises and great sounds: The Brahmins have seized the ascetic Torch and brought him to the king's gate. King Prasenajit of Kosala, who was sleeping on the foundation of the palace, was awakened by the sound of the many ordinary people. He asked those who lived on ghee: Wise ones, why are these many ordinary people making loud noises and great sounds? They said: O god, the venerable Torch, a Brahmin's daughter, a Brahmin, and about five hundred Brahmin children are weeping at the gate of the king's palace. King Prasenajit of Kosala thought: The Blessed One considered this matter and told me, Great King, do not be rash, observe carefully. In Shravasti, whenever a great dispute arose, they would beat the big drum and blow the conch shell, so King Prasenajit ordered those who lived on ghee: Wise ones, beat the big drum and blow the conch shell. They beat the big drum and blew the conch shell, and the king and his retinue gathered together. The king said: Let that Brahmin and the venerable Torch come in. After the two of them came in, the king said to the Brahmin: Brahmin, what are you saying? O god, the ascetic Torch has caused my young daughter to leave. The king said: Venerable Torch, if this Brahmin says so, what do you
