Finished. The Buddha, the Bhagavan (梵文：Bhagavān，梵文罗马拟音：bhagavat，汉语字面意思：World-Honored One), was staying in Jeta Grove, Anathapindika's Park, in Shravasti. At the foot of a mountain, there lived a householder who allowed ascetics and Brahmins from all directions to reside there for their benefit. He would provide sustenance through alms to any ascetics and Brahmins from all directions who resided in that dwelling. When the Bhagavan displayed great miracles in Shravasti, subdued other heretics, and made gods and humans rejoice, satisfying the hearts of the wise, those other heretics resided in remote areas. At another time, sixty naked ascetics arrived at that mountain foot and went to the householder, saying, "Good sir, may you attain Dharma! May you attain Dharma!" The householder said, "Wise ones, are you renunciates?" They replied, "Yes, we are renunciates." The householder said, "Do not hesitate, I have allowed this dwelling for the benefit of ascetics and Brahmins from all directions. Please stay here, and I will provide you with sustenance through alms." They began to reside there, and the householder provided them with sustenance through alms. In Shravasti, there lived a faithful householder who, carrying goods, came to that mountain foot and entered the shop of that householder, becoming acquainted with him. That householder began to distribute food to those naked ascetics, and he did not send anyone to that householder but called out, "Friend, come here and distribute food to these alms recipients." Because that householder was faithful, he thought, "They must be disciples of the Bhagavan. I will go and see." When he went there and saw that those naked ascetics were completely without shame and spoke unpleasant words openly, which was painful, he left without saying anything. After the naked ascetics had eaten and left, that householder said to him, "Friend, is the seed good, and is the field good?" He replied, "Friend, if the seed is good, the field is naked."

此乃无惭无愧，怀有罪恶见解者，如同无门之空村，全然是罪恶之地。 居士问道：朋友，还有其他好的田地吗？ 答：有，即是世尊的声闻众。 居士说道：如果他们能来这里，我将以乞食供养他们所需。 那位居士将货物变卖换取钱财后，前往舍卫城。他将货物在商铺中卸下，然后前往祇陀林。 六群比丘的惯常行为是：我们应当向来到此地的婆罗门和居士宣说佛法，也要折伏外道，还要宣扬自己的名声。因此，六群比丘中的任何一人都不会让祇陀林的门空着。 具寿近喜清晨早起，丢弃牙木，穿上红色袈裟，在祇陀林的门口徘徊。 近喜从远处看见那位居士，说道：居士，欢迎，欢迎！你如同月亮般，从遥远的地方而来。 居士答道：尊者，在某某山岩处，有一位某某居士，他为了四方的沙门和婆罗门，布施住处，我想要拜见世尊的声闻众。 近喜心想：如果被某些黑钵者听到，他们会迅速前往那里，不如我先贬低这位居士，这样就不会有人告诉那些黑钵者了。 于是，他对居士说道：你心中除了想“谁会给我们食物？谁会给我们衣服？”之外，还有其他的禅定或诵读吗？ 居士心想：在这些贪欲者中，没有比近喜更过分的了，他竟然这样贬低我。如果我告诉其他安住于僧伽本性中的比丘，他们会更加严厉地贬低我。 于是，他一言不发地坐着。近喜也贬低了那位居士，然后六群比丘们……

This is a land of utter wickedness, like a doorless empty village, full of those who are shameless and without conscience, holding sinful views. The householder asked: Friend, are there other good fields? He replied: Yes, the Śrāvakas of the Blessed One. The householder said: If they were to come here, I would provide for their needs with alms. That householder sold his goods, took the price, and went to Śrāvastī. He unloaded the goods at the market and went to Jeta Grove. The usual practice of the Group of Six was: We should teach the Dharma to the Brahmins and householders who come here, and we should also subdue the opponents and proclaim our own fame. Therefore, none of the Group of Six would leave the gate of Jeta Grove empty. The venerable Nanda, having risen early in the morning, threw away his tooth-stick, put on a reddish-brown robe, and walked and sat at the gate of Jeta Grove. Nanda saw the householder from afar and said: Householder, welcome, welcome! You have come from afar, like the moon. He said: Venerable, at such and such a mountain rock, there is such and such a householder who has given a dwelling place for the sake of the Śramaṇas and Brahmins of the four directions, and I wish to see the Śrāvakas of the Blessed One. Nanda thought: If some black-bowl people were to hear of this, they would go there very quickly, so if I disparage this householder, no one will tell the black-bowl people. So he said to the householder: In your heart, do you think of anything other than "Who will give us food? Who will give us clothes?" Do you not think of any meditation or recitation? The householder thought: Among those who are possessive, there is none more excessive than Nanda, and he has disparaged me for a while. If I were to tell other monks who abide in the nature of the Sangha, they would disparage me even more. So he sat there without saying anything. Nanda also disparaged the householder, and then the Group of Six...

Those naked ascetics said: "Wise ones should follow the place of practice," so they left one naked ascetic as a guard at that dwelling and went elsewhere. The six groups also gradually traveled and went, and after arriving at that mountain rock, they went to that householder and said: "Householder Aroga, Aroga." The householder said: "Who are you?" "We are the disciples of the Blessed One." The householder said: "Good, we are also seeking to see the disciples of the Blessed One, and you have come. Noble ones, I have allowed a dwelling for the sake of the monks and Brahmins of the four directions, please stay there, and I will provide you with the necessities of alms." The six groups said: "Are there any beds or small stools?" The householder said: "No." The six groups said: "Householder, we do not sleep on the ground." That householder searched for a dwelling there and then sent beds and small stools to that dwelling. The naked ascetic said: "Hey, monks of the Shakya clan, this is neither your monastery nor your dwelling, how can you enter here?" The six groups said: "Hey, wise one, what are you saying? Do not say that this is neither our monastery nor our dwelling. If we stay, then we will stay. If we do not stay, we will impose a great penalty on you." The naked ascetic thought: "There are six of them, and I am only one, what can I do to them?"
