A faithful young man said: "Khenpo, please don't say that. Those two are great beings, and if Khenpo could hear the Dharma from them, Khenpo's heart would generate great faith. Such a situation exists." Lamchenpa thought, "I must observe. For the time being, when the Brahmin children are not reciting, I will go too." The daily behavior of those Brahmin children is that when they are not reciting, sometimes they walk around as if going to the city, and sometimes they go to collect firewood for sacrifices. So at another time, when they were not reciting, they went to collect firewood for sacrifices, and Lamchenpa also went to the Jala-ja garden. A Bhikshu was walking and sitting under a tree at the gate of the Jala-ja garden. The Brahmin saw him from afar, went to him, and said, "Venerable Bhikshu, please speak a little of the Buddha's teachings." That Bhikshu thought, "This Brahmin is a debater, so I cannot speak to him casually." So he explained in detail to that Brahmin the ten paths of virtuous actions and the ten paths of non-virtuous actions. The Brahmin said, "Venerable Bhikshu, my affairs are also completely ruined. If your virtuous deeds are also completely ruined, that would not be good. I am leaving, I will come again later." Having said that, he left. At another time, those Brahmin children were not reciting again, and they went to collect firewood for sacrifices. Lamchenpa also went alone to the Jala-ja garden. That Bhikshu saw that Brahmin from afar. Having seen him, he thought, "Last time I explained in detail to this Brahmin the ten paths of virtuous actions and the ten paths of non-virtuous actions. Now I will explain to him in detail the twelve links of dependent origination in their arising and reversing order." That Brahmin went to where that Bhikshu was. Having arrived, he prostrated at the feet of that Bhikshu with his head, and then respectfully sat to one side. Having respectfully sat to one side, that Bhikshu explained to that Brahmin the twelve links of dependent origination in their arising order.

and extensively showed views contrary to tradition. That Brahmin developed great faith and said: 'Please, Bhikshu, ordain me.' That Bhikshu thought: 'This Brahmin is a debater, if he is ordained, he will cherish the Dharma.' So he ordained him. He said: 'Brahmin, do so.' The Brahmin said: 'Venerable Bhikshu, I am a famous Brahmin, if I cannot succeed in ordaining here, I will leave this place.' Do so. That Bhikshu took that Brahmin to a certain place, gave him full ordination, and then said: 'Good man, the duties of a Bhikshu are two: meditation and recitation. Which do you prefer, meditation or recitation?' The Great Road replied: 'Khenpo, I will do both. I will recite during the day and meditate at night.' Child, do so. Then, the venerable Great Road recited and recited during the day, and therefore became proficient in the three pitakas. He was proficient in the three pitakas, preached the Dharma, and had the confidence of wisdom and liberation. He meditated at night, and from one state to another, he obtained the excellence of concentration, and recognized the five movements and non-movements of samsara. All the characteristics of conditioned phenomena were overwhelmed by the nature of decay, fall, disintegration, and destruction, and therefore he abandoned all defilements. Therefore, good men, for this reason, having shaved their hair and beard, and having put on the robes of a renunciate, with pure faith, from home to homelessness, realized the ultimate of the unsurpassed Brahmacharya, experienced it directly in this life with their own superknowledge, and realized: 'My birth is exhausted, the Brahmacharya has been established, what has to be done has been done, there is no more existence.' He made it clear that he was an Arhat, without attachment to the three realms, treating clods of earth and gold equally, possessing a mind like the sky and the palm of the hand. Like placing sandalwood, he broke the eggshell with wisdom, and obtained wisdom, superknowledge, and individual self-awareness. He turned his back on the gain and respect of existence and desire, and the senses and their objects.
