So they called a potter and said, 'Good man, can you make a pot with two inner containers?' The potter said, 'Yes.' So he made a pot with two inner containers. They filled one inner container of the pot with coarse rice, and one inner container with excellent rice. They filled one inner container of another pot with milk, and one inner container with bran, and after preparing it, they said to the family, 'Princes, should we offer food to father first? So, without them noticing, he secretly went to all their fields and searched with his hands, grabbing ears of grain with one mouth and two inside, and then hid them elsewhere. When the children came and gathered, (the Brahmin) pointed to those ears of grain and said: Children, look at my merits being exhausted. Then he spoke the verse: Children, in other people's homes, one ear of grain has only one mouth. We who have no merit, even ears of grain with two inside have only one mouth. They kicked those wives, and they thought: This Brahmin came to harm us, we should kill him. At this time, a snake with its tongue flicking came from that direction, and they asked it: Good-looking snake, is there a snake? The snake said: What kind of snake do you want? Dead or alive? They said: Dead. The snake thought: What do these people want with a dead snake? They must want to kill this Brahmin. According to the rule, the angry venom of a snake will transfer to the two places of the head and tail, so he made a black snake angry, cut off the head and tail, and gave the waist part to them. They cooked the snake meat into a broth and said to the Brahmin: Father, would you like to drink snake broth? The Brahmin thought: Why would these people want to feed me snake broth? They must want to poison me a little. He thought: I will drink it no matter what. So they fed him snake broth, and after he drank it, the steam lifted the roof, and the Brahmin regained his sight. He thought: I must find a way to become sharper. So he fell to the ground and lay down, saying: I am dying, I am dying. They thought: Die quickly. So they said: Father, drink some more and you will recover. He said: Drink. They fed him more snake broth.
