The venerable one should do things like this: plowing fields, guarding cattle, doing business, and whatever other work belongs to the Jewish lineage. Who is that monk? His name is this, his lineage is this, his clan is this. If he says this, he commits an offense by speaking the name, and he commits a minor offense by speaking the lineage and clan. A monk, with the intention of creating discord, goes to someone who has renounced from the commoner lineage and says this: Venerable one, you monk, venerable one, where is the way of asceticism for you? Where is the way of the Brahmin? The venerable one has renounced from the commoner lineage. The venerable one should do things like this: axe, shoulder pole, and whatever other work belongs to the commoner lineage. Who is that monk? His name is this, his lineage is this, his clan is this. Venerable one, you should do your work with needles, thread, knives, scissors, and willow branches." If one says, "Which monk is it? The name is this, the lineage is this, the clan is this," it becomes an offense of defeat. If one speaks of lineage and clan, it becomes a misdeed. A monk, with the intention of creating discord, goes to the dwelling of one who has ordained from being a blacksmith, and says this: "Venerable one, you are a monk. Venerable one, where is the conduct of a renunciate? Where is the conduct of a Brahmin? Venerable one, you have ordained from being a blacksmith. Venerable one, you should do your work with bellows, bellows pipes, anvils, hammers, and mallets." If one says, "Which monk is it?
