A monk, with the intention of speaking ill of others, goes to someone who has renounced from a carpenter and says, 'Venerable one, where are the rules of the Shramana? Where are the rules of the Brahmin? Because the venerable one has renounced from a carpenter.' If the venerable one says, 'Learn my craft, such as beds, small beds, benches, small benches, door panels, and any other craft of a carpenter,' then whether the monk becomes a Spāgongwa or not, the monk will commit a downfall.
