Having bowed to his two feet with his head, he pleaded to the Bhagavan, saying: "Bhagavan, I am going to Kapilavastu (ser skya'i gnas)." The Bhagavan instructed: "Chandaka ('char ka), you should not hesitate, do not enter the king's palace, but stand at the gate and say, 'A Shākya monk has come.' If they ask, 'Are there other Shākya monks?', say, 'There are other Shākya monks.' If they say, 'Come in,' then enter. If they ask, 'Is the young Siddhartha (don thams cad grub ba) also in such attire?', say, 'He is in such attire.' You should not stay in the king's palace. If they ask, 'Does the young Siddhartha also not stay in the king's palace?', say, 'He does not stay in the palace.' If they ask, 'Where does he stay?', say, 'In a monastery or a vihara.' If they ask, 'Will the young Siddhartha come?', say, 'He will come.' If they ask, 'How long will it take?', say, 'After seven days.'" The venerable Chandaka, having heard the Bhagavan's teachings, replied, "As the Bhagavan commands," bowed to the Bhagavan's two feet with his head, and departed from the Bhagavan's presence. When Chandaka came, he traveled for many days to Shravasti (mnyan yod), but on the way back, it was like this: by the power of the Buddhas and the power of the gods, he arrived at Kapilavastu in one day. Then, the venerable Chandaka went to King Śuddhodana's (zas gtsang) palace, and upon arriving, he called the gatekeeper and said: "Hey, chamberlain, go and inform the king that 'a Shākya monk has come.'" The gatekeeper asked: "Are there other Shākya monks as well?" Chandaka replied: "There are other Shākya monks as well." The gatekeeper informed the king, and the king said: "Let the Shākyas enter! Who would stop the Shākyas?" Then, the venerable Chandaka, recognized by the gatekeeper, went to King Śuddhodana, and upon arriving, he spoke to King Śuddhodana as follows: "Great King, the Bhagavan"

He said, "The deceased is Aroga." King Śuddhodana recognized the physiognomist from his accent and said, "Are you a physiognomist? The gods also call you that." The king said, "Is the youth Sarvārthasiddha also in such attire?" The god said, "Yes, he is in such attire." The king fainted from the lion throne and fell to the ground. After being empowered with water, he regained consciousness and asked, "Will the youth Sarvārthasiddha come?" The god said, "He will come." "How long will it be?" "After seven days." The king said to the ministers, "Wise ones, today clean the king's palace and the harem of the queen. Will the divine youth Sarvārthasiddha reside in the king's palace or the harem of the queen?" "He will not." "Then where will he reside?" "In a monastery or a temple." "What kind of temple?" The physiognomist said, "Like the temples seen in Śrāvastī." At that time, King Śuddhodana had five hundred gardens, including the Jīvaka garden, the Nyagrodha monastery, and the Brahma residence. The king said to the ministers, "Wise ones, today in each of the three gardens, the Jīvaka garden, the Nyagrodha monastery, and the Brahma residence, quickly build sixteen great temples and sixty house foundations like the Jetavana Grove, and make all places in the city of Kapilavastu free of stones, bricks, and rubble. Kings are accomplished by words, gods are accomplished by mind, and yogis are accomplished by mere intention. Therefore, the ministers, having heard the divine command from King Śuddhodana, built sixteen great temples and sixty house foundations like the Jetavana Grove in each of the three gardens, the Jīvaka garden, the Nyagrodha monastery, and the Brahma residence, and made all places in the city of Kapilavastu free of stones, bricks, and rubble.

For those who have faith, there are ten things that cannot be taken away by the nature of Dharma. That is, before the Tathagata, the World Honored One, has not personally prophesied enlightenment; before other sentient beings have not generated the irreversible mind towards unsurpassed Bodhi; before all those who should be tamed by the Buddha have not been tamed; before the five parts of life have not been abandoned; before the precepts have not been stopped; before a pair of supreme Shravakas has not been shown; before the descent from the heavens to the city of Kundakasha has not been shown; before the great miracles have not been shown in Shravasti; before the prediction of the result of common karma has not been given together with the Shravakas in the great Anavatapta lake; before the two parents have not been established in the truths, the Tathagata will not enter Nirvana. Then, the World Honored One thought: The great King Shuddhodana and countless Shakyas, the time to tame them has matured. For example, establishing the two parents in the truths, this is something that cannot be taken away by the Tathagata. Having thought this. Then, the World Honored One said to the great Maudgalyayanaputra: Maudgalyayanaputra, go and tell the Bhikshus that the Tathagata will go to Kapilavastu. Among you, whoever is willing to go to Kapilavastu with the Tathagata, and who is happy to see the father and son meet, should prepare their Dharma robes. The venerable great Maudgalyayanaputra, having heard from the World Honored One, replied: Venerable, I will follow the holy command. Then, he told the Bhikshus: Venerable ones, the Tathagata will go to Kapilavastu. Among you, whoever is willing to go to Kapilavastu with the Tathagata, and who is happy to see the father and son meet, should prepare their Dharma robes. The Bhikshus, having heard from the venerable great Maudgalyayanaputra, replied: Venerable, we will follow your instructions. Then, the World Honored One, with a retinue of the tamed, possessed tameness, with a retinue of the peaceful, possessed peace, with a retinue of the liberated, possessed liberation, with a retinue of those who have exhaled, possessed exhalation, with a retinue of the tolerant, possessed tolerance, with a retinue of Arhats, possessed Arhats.
