Entered into meditative absorption. The customary practice of those principal people was that the person in charge of lighting the fire would take turns lighting it at night. After some time, when it was someone's turn to light the fire, he saw it burning like a heap of fire. With a mind filled with wonder, he waited until dawn and said to the captain, Gyalchen Chen: "Captain, this renunciate, this noble one who is with the captain, is a great being who has accomplished asceticism. I saw him burning like a heap of fire at night." The captain said: "Hey, attendant, in which direction is he?" "In such and such a place." The captain was delighted and went to him, prostrated at his feet, and said: "Noble one, you are a mendicant, and I am a seeker of merit. Please accept my alms and depart." He accepted it, and after some time, the captain Gyalchen Chen gradually traveled through towns, villages, suburbs, royal palaces, and markets, and arrived at the edge of the great ocean. He relieved the fatigue of the journey, connected five hundred old ships, strengthened those five who lived on porridge, and dispelled their weariness. He led Gyalchen, the ships, and those who carried the sails, and went to the place where the Pratyekabuddha was. Upon arriving, together with his retinue, he prostrated at his feet and said to the Pratyekabuddha: "Noble one, I am about to enter the great ocean. Will the Noble One enter as well?" He said: "Good sir, you are entering the great ocean for the sake of your parents, children, wife, servants, maids, laborers, those who live on porridge, ascetics, Brahmins, and the poor and suffering beings. But I, having abandoned the affairs of the household, not inclined towards worldly matters and enjoyment, am a solitary wanderer without a companion. For whose sake should I enter the great ocean?" Captain Gyalchen Chen thought: "If I offer this noble one alms, he has no clothes to wear. I should give him food and offer him a large cloth suitable for a great person." So, the captain satisfied him with food and gave him something suitable for a great person.

He put on the great cloth of the earth. Then, after the Pratyekabuddha had done the work of eating, out of compassion for him, like the king of swans spreading his wings, he appeared manifestly in the sky above and began to perform miracles of burning, illuminating, raining, and emitting lightning. Because ordinary people quickly place their minds on miracles, that caravan leader, like a tree cut off from its roots, fell at the feet of that Pratyekabuddha and began to pray: "By the root of virtue of having made offerings to such a worthy object of offering, may I be born into a wealthy, rich, and prosperous family. And may I also obtain such qualities that are even more excellent than this, that please the teacher and do not displease the teacher." Monks, at that time, at that time, that great caravan leader was this son of a wealthy man. He made offerings to the Pratyekabuddha and prayed, "By the root of virtue of having made offerings to such a worthy object of offering, may I be born into a wealthy, rich, and prosperous family." Therefore, he was born into a wealthy, rich, and prosperous family. And he prayed, "May I also obtain such qualities that are even more excellent than this, that please the teacher and do not displease the teacher." Therefore, he renounced in my teaching, abandoned all defilements, and manifested the state of an Arhat. This person pleased me, the teacher, and did not displease me in a way that countless billions of Pratyekabuddhas could not compare. Listen, although he attained the state of an Arhat, because it was not genuine, he was slandered. Monks, in the past, in a past time, on a certain cliff, there lived a wealthy, rich, and prosperous householder, whose possessions were vast and extensive, who possessed wealth comparable to that of Vaishravana, and who could even compete with Vaishravana in wealth. He took a wife from among his own kind, and then he played, rejoiced, and enjoyed pleasure with her. Playing
