And he contemplates on those bad thoughts. He thinks, will that Sekha allow Habshur to snatch away the wealth of attack and come back? He thinks like that in his heart and contemplates on those bad thoughts. Then, Shadibu Sekha was granted the kingship of speech, and after being granted the kingship, he was surrounded by knowledgeable people and came to his own residence. After that, his mother respectfully said: Son, have you finished saying all that can be said? Sekha said: Mother, I have finished speaking, except for the monks of Kashyapa Drinking Light). Sekha's mother's face changed, and she folded her hands. Shadibu Sekha said: Mother, why did your face change and you fold your hands? The mother said: Son, you still have competitors, the monks of Kashyapa may snatch away the wealth of attack, there is such a possibility, so go and solve them. Sekha said: Mother, my father said, son, from sunrise to sunset, no one can speak as well as you, therefore you let me transcend all words, speak without fear or hesitation. Except for the monks of Kashyapa, because they possess a vast lineage, possess a profound lineage, possess a good lineage, cannot be defeated by worldly people, and are unfathomable for those who transcend the world, they do not pursue multitude, harmony, wealth, and meaning. The mother said: Son, your father was a slave to the monks, are you also going to become a slave to the monks? Go and solve them. Because Sekha respected his mother, he listened to his mother's words. At this time, a holy man came to the city of Dharma, and a monk also came to Varanasi. Sekha saw that monk on the road and said: Monk, where do you come from? From the city of Dharma. How many monks are there in the city of Dharma? There are more than twenty thousand monks. For the time being, let's talk about the monks being many

What is the extent of the treatises? The three baskets. What is the extent of the three baskets? One hundred thousand verses. Are householders allowed to uphold them? The Sutra Pitaka and the Abhidhamma Pitaka are both allowed. The Vinaya Pitaka is a treatise on rituals, so it is not allowed. The heretic thought: Which of these treatises' teachings are not shown to householders? Thinking this, he said: Hey, Bhikshu, speak a little from the words of the Blessed One. The Bhikshu thought: This Brahmin is eloquent, is he asking this question to measure me? Or is he asking this question because he wants to know everything? Thinking this, he spoke the verse: Where do all the waters cease? Where do the paths cease? Where do the happiness, suffering, and sorrow of the world, all cease? After saying this, he said: Brahmin, what is the meaning of this verse, tell me. The Brahmin began to analyze all the fields of knowledge, but he did not know the water, nor did he know the path, nor did he know the cessation. He thought: Have I not seen the karma? So he looked in the four directions and thought: If there were some impartial people here, I would be refuted today, so I must avoid it in every way. Thinking this, he said: Hey, Bhikshu, that verse has a vast lineage, it has a very profound meaning, and you are also a noble one from Varanasi. I am also a sage who is good at debate, so I cannot immediately say this meaning, you go, and it will not be difficult to say this meaning later. After saying this, that sage who was good at debate left. The Bhikshu saw those who were diligently studying, reciting, and remembering. As soon as he saw them, he developed great faith and thought: Who would be without compassion, abandon the next life, generate great hatred towards these people, and argue with these people? Thinking this, he returned to his own home. His mother said to him: Son, have you refuted the Bhikshus of Kashyapa? The heretic said: Mother, are you not pleased with my enjoyment of debate? Like this, do you want to deprive me of the enjoyment of debate?

There is. Son, what do you say? Mother, today I have become a well-spoken ascetic, and not long ago I saw a monk in a certain place, and I asked him, 'Monk, please say a little about the Buddha's teachings.' He spoke the verses: Where do all the seas cease? Where do the paths cease? Where do the world's pleasures, pains, and sufferings, all cease without remainder? After saying this, I began to analyze and study all fields of knowledge, but I found neither the sea, nor the path, nor the place of cessation. If there had been any impartial person there, I would have been completely defeated today. Son, if that is the case, go and recite the Buddha's teachings. Mother, what should I read? Those treatises of speech are not shown to householders. Son, go and become a renunciate and then recite. Mother, I am of noble birth, how can I become a renunciate among all the different castes? Son, will mist and grass grow on your head? Go back again. When the mother respectfully urged him, he agreed to become a renunciate, and then went to that well-spoken ascetic, and went to the monk and said, 'Monk, I want to become a renunciate.' The monk thought, 'If this Brahmin becomes a renunciate, it will be of benefit to the Dharma.' So he said, 'Brahmin, very well, let it be so. Enjoyment is impermanent, so become a renunciate.' Serkya said, 'Monk, I am a learned Brahmin, and there is no benefit for me to become a renunciate here, I will go elsewhere.' That monk took that Brahmin to another place, had him renounce and fully ordained, and made him focus on reading and reciting. When Serkya was reading and reciting, he recited the three baskets, and became one who possessed the three baskets, a preacher of the Dharma, and one who had the fearlessness of wisdom and liberation. When he wanted to give a Dharma teaching, he would prepare a lion throne adorned with various jewels, have conch shells blown, and have large drums beaten, and gather the retinue including the king.
