ཀའ་སྩལ་པ། ཀུན་དགའ་བོ་སྣམ་སྦྱར་གྱོན་ཏེ་དགེ་སློང་ཕྱིར་བཞིན་འབྲང་བའི་དགེ་སྦྱོང་ཞིག་དང་ སོང་ལ། རྒྱལ་པོའི་ཁབ་ཏུ་ཞུགས་ཏེ་གྲོང་ཁྱེར་རྒྱལ་པོའི་ཁབ་ཀྱི་ལམ་པོ་ཆེ་དང་སྲང་དང་བཞི་མདོ་དང་སུམ་མདོ་དག་དང་བཀའ་འདོགས་པའི་གནས་དག་ཏུ་འདུག་ལ། དད་པ་ཅན་དག་དང་། མ་དད་པ་དག་དང་། བྲམ་ཟེ་དང་། ཁྱིམ་བདག་དང་། གྲོང་རྡལ་པ་དག་དང་། ཡུལ་མི་དག་དང་། ནོར་ཅན་དག་དང་། ཚོང་དཔོན་དག་དང་། དེད་དཔོན་དག་ལ་ཤེས་ལྡན་དག་ལུས་འཕགས་མའི་བུ་མ་ག་དྷར་བྱུང་བའི་རྒྱལ་པོ་མ་སྐྱེས་དགྲས་ཇི་ཙམ་མ་བྱིན་པར་བླངས་པས་གྱོད་ལ་སྐྲིན་ཅིང་སྲོག་དང་འབྲལ་བར་བྱེད་ཅེས་དྲིས་ཤིག །ཚེ་དང་ལྡན་པ་ཀུན་དགའ་བོས་བཙུན་པ་བཀའ་བཞིན་འཚལ་ཞེས་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ལས་མཉན་ནས། རྒྱལ་པོའི་ཁབ་ཏུ་ཞུགས་ཏེ་གྲོང་ཁྱེར་རྒྱལ་པོའི་ཁབ་ཀྱི་ལམ་པོ་ཆེ་དང་སྲང་དང་བཞི་མདོ་དང་སུམ་མདོ་དག་དང་བཀའ་འདོགས་པའི་གནས་དག་ཏུ་འདུག་ནས། དད་པ་ཅན་དག་དང་མ་དད་པ་དག་དང་བྲམ་ཟེ་དང་ཁྱིམ་བདག་དང་གྲོང་རྡལ་པ་དག་དང་། ཡུལ་མི་དག་དང་ནོར་ཅན་དག་དང་ཚོང་དཔོན་དག་དང་དེད་དཔོན་དག་ལ་སྨྲས་པ། ཤེས་ལྡན་དག་ལུས་འཕགས་མའི་བུ་མ་ག་དྷར་བྱུང་བའི་རྒྱལ་པོ་མ་སྐྱེས་དགྲས་ཇི་ཙམ་མ་བྱིན་པར་བླངས་པས་གྱོད་ལ་སྐྲིན་ཅིང་སྲོག་དང་འབྲལ་བར་བྱེད། དེ་དག་གིས་སྨྲས་པ། བཙུན་པ་ཀུན་དགའ་བོ། མ་ཤ་ཀ་ལྔའམ་མ་ཤ་ཀ་ལྔ་ལས་ལྷག་བས་སོ། །དེ་ནས་ཚེ་དང་ལྡན་པ་ཀུན་དགའ་བོ་རྒྱལ་པོའི་ཁབ་ནས་བྱུང་ནས། བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ག་ལ་བ་དེར་སོང་སྟེ་ཕྱིན་ནས། བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱི་ཞབས་གཉིས་ལ་མ་གོ་བོས་ཕྱག་འཚལ་ཏེ་མཐའ་གཅིག་ཏུ་འདུག་གོ། །མཐའ་གཅིག་ཏུ་འདུག་ནས། བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ལ་ཚེ་དང་ལྡན་པ་ཀུན་དགའ་བོས་འདི་སྐད་ཅེས་གསོལ་ཏོ། །བཙུན་པ་བདག་གཟོད་སྣམ་སྦྱར་འཚལ་ཏེ་དགེ་སློང་སླད་བཞིན་འབྲང་བའི་དགེ་སྦྱོང་ཞིག་དང་རྒྱལ་པོའི་ཁབ་ཏུ་ཞུགས་ནས། གྲོང་ཁྱེར་རྒྱལ་པོའི་ཁབ་ཀྱི་ལམ་པོ་ཆེ་དང་སྲང་དང་བཞི་མདོ་དང་སུམ་མདོ་དག་དང་བཀའ་འདོགས་པའི་གནས་དག་ཏུ་ མཆིས་ཏེ། དད་པ་ཅན་དག་དང་མ་དད་པ་དང་བྲམ་ཟེ་དང་ཁྱིམ་བདག་དང་གྲོང་རྡལ་བ་དང་ཡུལ་མི་དག་དང་། ནོར་ཅན་དག་དང་། ཚོང་དཔོན་དག་དང་དེད་དཔོན་དག་ལ་ཤེས་ལྡན་དག་ལུས་འཕགས་མའི་བུ་མ་ག་དྷར་བྱུང་བའི་རྒྱལ་པོ་མ་སྐྱེས་དགྲས་ཇི་ཙམ་མ་བྱིན་པར་བླངས་པས་གྱོད་ལ་སྐྲིན་ཅིང་སྲོག་དང་བྲལ་བར་བགྱིད་ཅེས་རྨས་ན། དེ་དག་གི་མཆིད་ནས་བཙུན་པ་ཀུན་དགའ་བོ་མ་ཤ་ཀ་ལྔའམ་མ་ཤ་ཀ་ལྔ་ལས་ལྷག་པས

It was taught: "Ananda, put on your robes made of rags and go with a monk who follows you to Rajagriha (Rajgir, located in present-day Bihar, India). Sit in the great roads, alleys, crossroads, triple intersections, and places where commands can be issued in the city of Rajagriha. Then ask those who have faith, those who do not have faith, Brahmins, householders, townspeople, villagers, wealthy people, merchants, and leaders: 'Wise ones, how much has King Ajatashatru, the son of King Bimbisara, who was born in Magadha, taken without being given, so that he is punished and even loses his life?' The Venerable Ananda, having heard the Blessed One's teaching, said: 'Venerable One, I will do as you command.' Then he entered Rajagriha and sat in the great roads, alleys, crossroads, triple intersections, and places where commands could be issued in the city of Rajagriha. Then he said to those who had faith, those who did not have faith, Brahmins, householders, townspeople, villagers, wealthy people, merchants, and leaders: 'Wise ones, how much has King Ajatashatru, the son of King Bimbisara, who was born in Magadha, taken without being given, so that he is punished and even loses his life?' They said: 'Venerable Ananda, five mashakas or more than five mashakas.' Then the Venerable Ananda returned from Rajagriha and went to where the Blessed One was. Having arrived, he bowed to the Blessed One's feet with his head and sat to one side. Having sat to one side, the Venerable Ananda reported this to the Blessed One: 'Venerable One, I put on my robes made of rags and entered Rajagriha with a monk who followed me, and sat in the great roads, alleys, crossroads, triple intersections, and places where commands can be issued in the city of Rajagriha. Then I asked those who had faith, those who did not have faith, Brahmins, householders, townspeople, villagers, wealthy people, merchants, and leaders: 'Wise ones, how much has King Ajatashatru, the son of King Bimbisara, who was born in Magadha, taken without being given, so that he is punished and even loses his life?' They replied: 'Venerable Ananda, five mashakas or more than five mashakas.'
