Explanation of the second defeat. Explanation of the second defeat. The Buddha, the Bhagavan, was dwelling in Rajagriha, in the grove of light, at the place of Kalandaka. At that time, the former potter monk Dhanamati was dwelling in a hermitage hut in Rajagriha. Then, the former potter monk Dhanamati entered Rajagriha for alms, and the cowherds, shepherds, grass cutters, wood cutters, those who lived by the road, and those who lived by getting lost in Rajagriha destroyed and completely ruined the hut, and also took away all the grass and wood. After that, the former potter monk Dhanamati came, and the former potter monk Dhanamati saw that the hut had been destroyed and completely ruined, and all the grass and wood had been taken away. Having seen this, he again took grass and wood and made another hut. The former potter Monk Dhanamati entered Rajagriha for alms two or three times, and the cowherds, shepherds, grass cutters, wood cutters, those who lived by the road, and those who lived by getting lost in Rajagriha destroyed and completely ruined the hut, and also took away all the grass and wood. After that, the former potter monk Dhanamati came, and the former potter monk Dhanamati saw that the hut had been destroyed and completely ruined, and all the grass and wood had been taken away. Then, the former potter monk Dhanamati thought to himself: "Like this, when I enter Rajagriha for alms, the cowherds, shepherds, grass cutters, wood cutters, those who lived by the road, and those who lived by getting lost in Rajagriha have destroyed and completely ruined the hut three times, and also taken away all the grass and wood. Alas, suffering! Alas, it is not good! I am skilled in my father's craft and work, I will make a house made entirely of earth." Then, the former potter monk Dhanamati carried earth with his body, carried earth, soaked it with water free of living beings, and built the foundation, roof, pillars, and upper layers of the house, and with the monastic robe

They also make clothes racks and racks for Dharma robes, as well as platforms, beds, small beds, couches, and doorframes. Once they know it is dry, they make ropes with colored threads, smear it with colored things, and then bind it with wood, clay, and dry grass to make it firm. That dwelling is very colorful, exceedingly perfect, red, the color is red, the light is also red, like, for example, the Bandhujivaka flower. Then the former potter monk Norchen thought to himself: My dwelling is very colorful, exceedingly perfect, red, the color is red, the light is also red, like, for example, the Bandhujivaka flower. I should now hold a festival for the dwelling. Then the former potter monk Norchen had the nearby monks enter the dwelling, and he himself, taking his bowl and Dharma robes, went on a journey. According to the Dharma, when the Buddha, the Bhagavan, was alive and dwelling, those things that are alive and exist, due to the power of being tamed, would go to the hells from time to time, to the animals, to the pretas, to the heavens, to travel, to rivers, to monasteries, to cemeteries, to mountains, and to viharas. Here, the Buddha, the Bhagavan, wanted to go to the vihara for a walk, so he said to the venerable Ananda: Ananda, go and tell the monks, the Tathagata is now going to the vihara for a walk, whoever among you is willing to go to the vihara for a walk with the Tathagata, should tidy up their Dharma robes. The venerable Ananda, having heard the Bhagavan's instructions, took the crooked key and went from Ananda's garden to Ananda's garden, from vihara to vihara, from house to house, from corner to corner, walking crookedly or straight, and seeing those monks, said these words: Venerable ones, the Bhagavan is now going to the vihara for a walk, whoever among you is willing to go to the vihara for a walk with the Bhagavan, should tidy up their Dharma robes.

Having heard from the Venerable One as instructed, I took the Dharma robes from the Venerable Ananda and went to where the Blessed One was. Then, the Blessed One, together with many monks, went to inspect the monastery. Gradually, while inspecting the monastery, they arrived at the monastery of the former potter monk Nanda. The Blessed One saw the dwelling of the former potter monk Nanda, which was very well-plastered, excellently constructed, red in color, with a red glow, like a Bandhujivaka flower. Having seen it, he addressed the monks: "Monks, whose dwelling is this?" "Venerable One, it belongs to the former potter monk Nanda." "Monks, because of this, the non-Buddhists will criticize me, saying, 'The ascetic Gautama resides here, but among the disciples, some teachings like leaky places have arisen.' Therefore, destroy this dwelling, disturb it!" Those monks, according to the Teacher's command, destroyed and disturbed the dwelling. The Blessed One also destroyed and disturbed the dwelling and departed. The former potter monk Nanda came and saw that the dwelling of the former potter monk Nanda had been destroyed and disturbed. Having seen it, he said to the nearby monks: "Venerable ones, who destroyed and disturbed my dwelling?" "Venerable ones, it was the monks according to the Teacher's command." "If the Blessed One, the Dharma King, the Sugata, the Dharma King, destroyed it, then it is good that it was destroyed!" At that time, in the city of Rajagriha, there was a great minister belonging to the forest guards who was acquainted with the former potter monk Nanda, who came and went, and was a friend of conversation. Then, the former potter monk Nanda thought to himself: "In the city of Rajagriha, there is a great minister belonging to the forest guards who is acquainted with me, who comes and goes, and is a friend of conversation. I will make all the dwellings out of wood." Having known and understood this, he went to where the great minister belonging to the forest guards was, and having arrived,
