་གྱུར་ཅིག་ཅེས་སྨྲས་ཏེ་སོང་ངོ་། །དྲུག་སྡེ་དག་གི་ཀུན་ཏུ་སྤྱོད་པ་ནི་འདིར་བདག་ཅག་གིས་བྲམ་ཟེ་དང་ཁྱིམ་བདག་འོངས་ཤིང་ལྷགས་པ་རྣམས་ལ་ཆོས་བསྟན་པར་བྱ། རྒོལ་བ་དག་ཚར་གཅད་པར་བྱ། །རང་གི་གྲགས་པ་བསྒྲག་པར་བྱ། །རྙེད་པ་ཡང་བསྒྲུབ་པར་བྱའོ་ཞེས་ཡང་ན་ནི་སྒོ་དྲུང་དུ་བཙུག་ལག་ཁང་ནོད་པར་བྱེད། ཡང་ན་ནི་ལམ་དང་ཉེ་བར་གཙུག་ལག་ཁང་ནོད་པར་བྱེད་པས། ཉེ་དགས་ལམ་དང་ཉེ་བར་གཙུག་ལག་ཁང་མནོས་ནས། དེ་དེའི་སྟེང་དུ་ནམ་གྱི་ཆ་སྟོད་དང་། ནམ་གྱི་ཆ་སྨད་ལ་མི་ཉལ་བའི་སྦྱོར་བ་ལ་རྗེས་སུ་བརྩོན་པར་གནས་སོ། །ཇི་ཙམ་དུས་གཞན་ཞིག་ན་ཚོང་པ་ཤོ་གམ་འདྲལ་བ་དག་གཙུག་ལག་ཁང་དང་ཧ་ཅང་ཐག་མི་རིང་བ་ནས་འདོང་བ་དང་། ཉེ་དགའ་སྒྲ་ལ་མཁས་པས་དེས་དེ་དག་གི་རྟིང་སྒྲ་ཐོས་ནས། ཡོངས་སུ་གཡོ་བ་དང་བཅས་བཞིན་དུ་སྨྲས་པ། འདོང་བ་འདི་དག་སུ་ཡིན། ཚོང་པ་དེ་དག་ཅང་མི་སྨྲ་པར་སྡོད་པ་དང་། ཉེ་དགའ་མྱུར་བ་མྱུར་བར་གཙུག་ལག་ཁང་གི་སྟེང་ནས་བབས་ཏེ། ཚོང་པ་དེ་དག་གི་དྲུང་དུ་སོང་ནས་སྨྲས་པ། ཤེས་ ལྡན་དག་མཚན་མོ་ནོར་དང་བཅས་པ་ཁོ་ནར་འདོང་བ་འདི་དག་སུ་ཡིན། ཚོང་པ་དེ་དག་གིས་སྨྲས་པ། འཕགས་པ་བདག་ཅག་ནི་ཚོང་པ་ཤོ་གམ་འདྲལ་བ་དག་ལགས་སོ། །ཉེ་དགས་སྨྲས་པ་བཀྲེན་པ་དག་ཁོ་བོ་ཅག་ལ་རྒྱལ་པོ་ཡོ་བྱད་ཐམས་ཅད་ཀྱིས་ཉེ་བར་གནས་པ་ཡིན་ཏེ། གནས་བརྟན་ཀུན་ཤེས་ཀོའུ་དི་ནྱ་ཡང་དེ་ལ་འདི་སྐད་ཅེས་ཇི་ནས་ཀྱང་རྒྱལ་པོ་འདིའི་ལོངས་སྤྱོད་མ་བྱུང་བ་དག་ནི་འབྱུང་བར་གྱུར་ཅིག །བྱུང་བ་དག་ནི་རྒྱས་པ་དང་འཕེལ་བ་དང་ཡངས་པར་གྱུར་ཅིག་ཅེས་ཡོན་བཤད་པ་བྱེད་པ་ཡིན་ན། ཁྱེད་ཅག་དེ་དབང་བའི་ཤོ་གམ་དྲལ་ཏེ་འདོང་ན་ཁོ་བོ་ཅག་གིས་ཅིའི་ཕྱིར་ཡལ་བར་དོར་བར་བྱ། དེང་ཁྱེད་ལ་གནོད་པ་བྱེད་དུ་གཞུག་གོ་།དེ་དག་སྐྲག་ནས་སྨྲས་པ། འཕགས་པ་ཁྱེད་ནི་ཐུགས་རྗེ་ཅན་དག་ལགས་པས་བཟོད་པར་མཛོད་ཅིག་དང་བདག་ཅག་གིས་འཕགས་པ་ལ་མཁོ་བ་དག་བགྱིའོ། །ཉེ་དགས་སྨྲས་པ་ཅི་ཞིག་བྱ། བཅའ་བའི་ཆ་བ་རིན་དག་དབུལ་ལོ། །འབུལ་ལམ། འབུལ་ལོ། །དེང་ཞིག །དེ་དག་དེ་ནས་དོང་སྟེ་ཉེ་དགའི་དྲུང་ནས་བྲལ་བ་དང་། འདི་སྐད་ཅེས་ཡུ་བུ་ཅག་ཀོ་ས་ལ་ར་བྱུང་བའི་རྒྱལ་པོ་གསལ་རྒྱལ་ལ་ཡང་ཤོ་གམ་མི་འཇལ་ན། དགེ་སྦྱོང་མགོ་རེག་ཉེ་དགའ་ལ་འཇལ་བ་ལྟ་སྨོས་ཀྱང་ཅི་དགོས་ཞེས་ཀུན་ཏུ་བརྗོད་པར་བྱེད་དོ། །ཉེ་དགའ་ཡང་མྱུར་བ་མྱུར་བར་ཟས་ཀྱི་བྱ་བ་བྱས་ཏེ། སྒོ་དྲུང་ན་ལྷུང་བཟེད་འཁྲུ་ཞིང་ཕྱོགས་བཞིར་རྣམ་པར་ལྟ་བར་བྱེད་དོ། །གཞོན་ནུ་ཞིག་གིས་ཉེ་དགའ་ཕྱོགས་བཞིར་རྣམ་པར་ལྟ་བར་བྱེད་པ་མཐོང་ནས། དེས་སྨྲས་པ། གནས་བརྟན་ཅིའི་སླད་དུ་ཕན་ཚུན་རྣམ་པར་གཟིགས་པ་མཛད། ཉེ་དགས་སྨྲས་པ། ཚེ་དང་ལྡན་པ་ཁོ་བོའི་མཛའ་བཤེས་ཚོང་པ་དག་ཟོང་ཐོགས་ཏེ་མཉན་ཡོད་དུ་ཞུགས་པ་དེ་དག་ལྟའོ། །གཞོན་ནུ་དེས་སྨྲས་པ། གནས་བརྟན་ཁྱོད་ཇི་ཙམ་ན་ཟས་ཀྱི་བྱ་བ་མཛད་པ་དེ་ཙམ་ན་དེ་དག་དོང་ལགས་སོ། །ཉེ་དགའ་མི་བཟོད་པ་སྐྱེས་ནས་ཁོ་བོ་ཡང་དེ་དག་གིས་བསླུས་ཏེ་སྤུ་གྲི་ལ་ཁུ་ཚུར་གྱིས་བརྡེགས་ཤིང་རང་ཐགས་ཀྱི་རྡོ་ལ་རྩྭས་ཕུག་གིས། ཁོ་བོས་དེ་དག་ལ་གང་བྱ་བ་ཤེས་སོ་སྙམ་དུ་སེམས་སོ། །ཇི་ཙམ་ན་ཚོང་པ་དེ་ དག་ཡང་དེ་ཁོ་ན་བཞིན་དུ་འོངས་པ་དང་། ཉེ་དགས་ཀྱང་དེ་ཁོ་ན་བཞིན་ལན་གཉིས་སུ་བཟུང་སྟེ་ཁྱེད་ཀྱིས་ཁོ་བོ་ཡང་བསླུས་སོ་ཞེས་སྨྲས་པ་དང་། ཚོང་པ་དེ་དག་གིས་སྨྲས་པ། འཕགས་པ་བདག་ཅག་ལ་བགྱི་བ་ཅུང་ཞིག་བྱུང་བས་དེས་ན་བདག་ཅག་མ་ཞུས་པར་མཆིས་ཏེ། ད་ནི་དེ་དང་གཞན་ཡང་ཐམས་ཅད་འབུལ་ལོ། །འབུལ་ལམ། འབུལ་ལོ། །དེད་ཞིག །དེ་དག་དེ་དག་དེ་ནས་དོང་སྟེ་ཉེ་དགའི་དྲུང་ནས་བྲལ་བ་དང་། འདི་སྐད་ཅེས་ཡུ་བུ་ཅག་ཀོ་ས་ལར་བྱུང་བའི་རྒྱལ་པོ་གསལ་རྒྱལ་ལ་ཡང་ཤོ་གམ་མི་འཇལ་ན། དགེ་སྦྱོང་མགོ་རེག་ཉེ་དགའ་ལ་འཇལ་བ་ལྟ་སྨོས་ཀྱང་ཅི་དགོས་ཞེས་ཀུན་ཏུ་རྗོད་པར་བྱེད་དོ། །ཉེ་དགས་ཚོང་པ་དེ་དག་གིས་བདག་ལ་མང་པོ་ཞིག་ཁས་བླངས་པས་ཡང་དེ་ཁོ་ན་བཞིན་དུ་མི་ལྟ་བར་སོང་ན་མི་རུང་གིས་མཚན་མ་དང་བཅས་པ་ཁོ་ནར་ལངས་ཏེ། དེ་དག་གི་དྲུང་དུ་འགྲོ་བར་བྱའོ་སྙམ་དུ་བསམས་ནས་དེས་སྣམ་སྦྱར་བགོས་ཏེ་སྲང་དུ་སོང་བ་དང་། ཚོང་པ་དེ་དག་ཀྱང་ཟོང་བཀྲམ་སྟེ་འཚོང་བར་བྱེད་ནས། ཉེ་དགས་དེ་དག་ལ་མཚན་མ་བརྟན་པར་བརྩམས་པ་དང་། དེ་དག་གིས་སྨྲས་པ། འཕགས་པ་ཇེ་ཟོང་བསྒྱུར་བར་བགྱིས། བཞུད་ཅིག་དང་། བདག་ཅག་མཆིས་ཏེ་དབུལ་བར་བགྱིའོ། །ཉེ་དགས་སྨྲས་པ། གལ་ཏེ་བདེན་ནའོ། །དེ་དག་གིས་སྨྲས་པ། འཕགས་པ་ཁྱོད་ནི་འདའ་བར་བགྱི་བ་མ་ལགས་ཀྱིས་བཞུད་ཅིག །ཉེ་དགའ་སོང་སྟེ། མྱུར་བ་མྱུར་བར་གཙུག་ལག་ཁང་དུ་སོང་ནས་ཟས་ཀྱི་བྱ་བ་བྱས་ཏེ། ལྷུང་བཟེད་འཁྲུ་ཞིང་ཕྱོགས་སུ་རྣམ་པར་ལྟ་བར་བྱེད་དོ། །དེ་བཞིན་དུ་གཞོན་ནུ་ཞིག་གིས་སྨྲས་པ། གནས་བརྟན་ཅིའི་སླད་དུ་ཕན་ཚུན་རྣམ་པར་གཟིགས་པར་མཛད། ཉེ་དགས་སྨྲས་པ། ཚེ་དང་ལྡན་པ་ཁོ་བོའི་མཛའ་བཤེས་ཚོང་པ་དག་ཟོང་ཐོགས་ཏེ་མཉན་ཡོད་དུ་ཞུགས་པ་དེ་དག་ལྟའོ། །གཞོན་ནུ་དེས་སྨྲས་པ།

Having spoken thus, he departed. The practices of the group of six were as follows: 'Here, we shall teach the Dharma to the Brahmins and householders who come and arrive. We shall subdue the opponents. We shall proclaim our own fame. And we shall also accomplish gains.' Either they would acquire a monastery near the gate, or they would acquire a monastery near the road. Having acquired a monastery near the road, Nanda would diligently strive to remain on top of it, not sleeping during the first or last part of the night. At another time, merchants transporting goods were passing not far from the monastery, and Nanda, skilled in sounds, heard the sound of their footsteps. Agitated, he said, 'Who are these people passing by?' The merchants remained silent without saying a word. Nanda quickly descended from the top of the monastery and went to the merchants, saying, 'Wise ones, who are these who travel at night with wealth?' The merchants said, 'Venerable one, we are merchants transporting goods.' Nanda said, 'Miserly ones, the king attends to us with all necessities, and the venerable Kondanna also praises him, saying, "May whatever this king has not enjoyed come to pass, and may whatever he has enjoyed increase, prosper, and expand." Since you are transporting goods, why should we let you go? Today, I will cause you harm.' Frightened, they said, 'Venerable one, you are compassionate, please forgive us, and we will provide whatever the venerable one needs.' Nanda said, 'What will you do? Offer valuable cloths.' 'Shall we offer?' 'Offer.' 'Today.' They departed from there, and after leaving Nanda's presence, they all said, 'Even to King Prasenajit of Kosala, we do not pay taxes on goods, let alone to the shaven-headed ascetic Nanda.' Nanda also quickly finished his meal, washed his bowl at the gate, and looked in all four directions.

Nedegha said: "O long-lived one, I am looking at my friends, the merchants, who have entered Shravasti with their goods." The young man said: "Venerable, by the time you are doing the work of eating, they will have already left." Nedegha felt unbearable and thought, "I too have been deceived by them, striking the blade with my fist and poking the stone of my own weaving with grass. I think I know what to do to them." When those merchants came again in the same way as before, Nedegha also seized them twice in the same way as before and said, "You have also deceived me." Those merchants said: "Holy one, we had some things to do, so we left without informing you. Now we offer all those and others." "Offer?" "Offer." "Bring it!"
