Just as a lotus grows quickly in a pond, so it is up to this point as before. When he (the monk) grew up, he went forth into the well-spoken Dharma and Vinaya. He went to the fields and found two large cloths. He thought, "The Blessed One has said that even those who have gone forth should provide for their parents." Therefore, he thought, "One cloth should be given to my father, and the other to my mother." He stayed in the fields as he pleased, and taking his alms bowl and Dharma robes, he traveled to where Shravasti was. As he gradually traveled to Shravasti, he arrived at a place of a cloth seller. The cloth seller said, "Venerable one, do you have any items with which to measure and buy cloth?" The monk said, "I have nothing of value." The cloth seller said, "Please let me have a look." So he began to examine him. When he saw the two large cloths, he said, "Venerable one, having gone forth into the well-spoken Dharma and Vinaya, would you speak falsely for the sake of just two large cloths?" The monk said, "These two cloths are not mine to control." The cloth seller said, "Then who controls them?" "One cloth belongs to my father, and the other belongs to my mother." "Venerable one, I do not know my father, nor do I know my mother. Please give me the cloth and let me go." The cloth seller hesitated for a long time before letting him go. He gradually returned to Shravasti and felt remorse, and he told the monks about this. The monks reported it to the Blessed One. The Blessed One said, "Monks, that monk has not committed an offense. However, other monks should not act like him. Instead, they should praise their parents in front of the cloth seller like this: 'Wise one, the Blessed One has said, monks, that it is difficult for a son to cherish his parents, to nourish them, to raise them, to feed them milk, and to show them the various Jambudvipa. It is difficult to do these things. Even if a son carries his father on one shoulder and his mother on the other for a hundred years, or fills this great earth with jewels, pearls, lapis lazuli, white manas-shel, coral, silver, and sa'

Agate and, the essence of stone and, hollow and, red and, right-handed and, like that, the possessor of power is arranged, just like that, what the son does to his parents and, what he does closely will not become, he makes the two parents who do not believe believe perfectly, subdue, enter, place, and, the two who are immoral in discipline are perfect in discipline, the two who are stingy are perfect in giving, the two who are corrupt in wisdom are perfect in wisdom, truly let them believe, subdue, enter, place, just like that, what the son does to his parents and, what he does closely will become, so it is said. It should be said like this. If you praise both parents like that, if you give like that, that's good. If you don't give, measure the dice and go. Similarly, if you don't go, it will become a serious violation. The Buddha Bhagavan lived in Jeta Grove Anathapindika Garden in Shravasti. In Shravasti there was a householder who took a wife from the same caste, and he loved, rejoiced, and enjoyed happiness with her. Playing, rejoicing, enjoying happiness, his wife gave birth to a son, raised, nurtured, and quickly nurtured him like a lotus living in a pond. Like this until before. When he grew up, at that time he went forth to the well-spoken Dharma and Discipline. The Bhagavan said: Merit is action, not doing merit will become suffering, in this life and the next, doing merit will become happy. After hearing these words, the monks made begging from the Sangha, and began to offer to the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha. The Bhagavan's teachings became vast, at that time, the monk thought, the monks who came from the Sangha begged a lot, and these people will spread throughout Shravasti when they are used up, I should go to the place, and after going, combine them well, after thinking like this, he went to the place, and in those places he went to the Buddha and,

For the sake of the Dharma and the Sangha, they had three boxes filled with various colored cloths sewn together properly. They stayed in that place as they pleased, and carrying their alms bowl and Dharma robes, as they gradually walked towards Shravasti, they arrived at the place of the customs office. The customs officer said: Venerable one, do you have any items with which to pay the customs tax? The monk replied: I have nothing of value. The customs officer said: Please allow me to inspect. As he began to inspect, he soon saw the three boxes filled with various colored cloths. He said: Venerable one, these three boxes filled with various colored cloths are too few. If they were enough to fill a cow's load, then you would have to pay the customs tax. The monk replied: These valuables do not belong to me. Venerable one, then who do they belong to? One valuable belongs to the Buddha, one belongs to the Dharma, and one belongs to the Sangha. Venerable one, I neither know the Buddha, nor do I know the Dharma, nor do I know the Sangha. Please give me the customs tax and let me leave. The customs officer delayed him for a long time before letting him go, and he finally arrived in Shravasti. He felt remorse and told the monks about the incident. The monks reported it to the Blessed One, and the Blessed One instructed: Monks, that monk has not committed an offense, but monks should not do that again. Instead, they should praise the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha in front of the customs officer. Like this: The Blessed One is the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Perfectly Enlightened One, endowed with knowledge and conduct, the Well-Gone One, the Knower of the World, the Guide of beings to be tamed, the unsurpassed One, the Teacher of gods and humans, the Buddha, the Blessed One. The Dharma of the Blessed One is well-spoken, rightly seen, without disease, timeless, leading near, seeing this is meaningful, and the wise ones can each know it for themselves. The Sangha of the Blessed One's disciples is well-entered, upright, correct, and harmonious.
