因为害怕土地会被冻死，所以非常悲伤地哭喊着。七天下了不合时宜的雨，许多鸟和山羊都死了，你是怎么失去的？他详细地说了事情的经过，他说：朋友，告诉我熊住在哪里的洞穴。他说：即使靠吃草为生也行，我再也不会回到森林里了。他为了让对方相信，给了他三分之二的肉作为报酬，并为了指路而去了。不久，他逐渐到达了大熊居住的洞穴。然后，那个无情无义的人说：熊住在这个洞里。然后，猎人为了伤害对方的性命，就向那个洞穴放火。然后，大熊的意识和眼睛被烟雾遮蔽，充满了泪水，它用偈颂说道：我住在山谷里，吃树根、果实，喝水，一心想利益众生，我伤害了谁？死亡的时刻已经来临，现在什么也做不了了，有情众生只能跟随自己喜欢和不喜欢的业力。说完就死了。然后，他们宰杀了熊，分了肉，对那个受骗的人说：拿走三分之二的肉吧。他说：我要拿，一边伸出双手，一边倒在了地上。然后，猎人们看到这种不祥之兆，惊呼“哎呀”，各自放弃了自己的那份肉，逃走了。这件事非常奇怪，被很多人听到，他们都聚集到了那个地方。连国王梵施也感到惊讶，亲自来到了那里。 在那座山的一侧有一座僧院，国王梵施从那里取走了熊皮，睁大了惊奇的眼睛，心想应该让僧侣们知道这件事，于是他去了僧院，铺开了熊皮，坐在长老的旁边，向僧侣们详细地讲述了这件事。当时有一位阿罗汉住在那儿，他用偈颂对国王说：大王，这件事并不简单，这是一位具有光辉的菩萨，大王，你和三界

Fearing that the land would freeze to death, he cried out in great sorrow. Because of the unseasonal rain that fell for seven days, many birds and mountain goats died. How did you lose it? He explained in detail what had happened, and then he said: Friend, tell me the cave where the bear lives. He said: Even if I have to live on grass, I will never go back to the forest. To convince him, he gave him two-thirds of the meat as a reward and went to show him the way. Gradually, he reached the cave where the great bear lived. Then, that heartless and ungrateful man said: The bear lives in this cave. Then, the hunter, intending to harm the other's life, set fire to the cave. Then, the great bear, its mind and eyes obscured by smoke and filled with tears, spoke in verse: I live in the valley of the mountains, eating roots and fruits and drinking water, with the intention of benefiting sentient beings. Whom have I harmed? The time of death has come, and now there is nothing I can do. Sentient beings can only follow the karma they like and dislike. Having said this, it died. Then, they slaughtered the bear and divided the meat, saying to the deceived man: Take two-thirds of the meat. He said: I will take it, and as he stretched out his hands, he fell to the ground. Then, the hunters, seeing this inauspicious sign, exclaimed "Alas!" and, abandoning their shares of the meat, fled. This was very strange, and many people heard about it and gathered in that place. Even King Brahma was amazed and came there himself. On one side of that mountain there was a monastery, and from there King Brahma took the bear skin, opened his eyes in amazement, and thought that the monks should know about this matter. So he went to the monastery, spread out the bear skin, sat next to the elder, and told the monks about the matter in detail. At that time, there was an Arhat living there, and he said to the king in verse: Great King, this matter is not simple. This is a glorious Bodhisattva. Great King, you and the three realms

我乃应供养者。国王心想：应对此（遗骸）作供养。众比丘说：此神乃贤劫之菩萨，请您对此作供养。之后，国王梵施与王妃、王子、大臣、城镇居民、乡村居民、以及所有国民一起，取来所有香木，在那边挖掘，将其血肉与骨骸全部堆成一堆，然后说道：智者们，将所有香木堆积起来，堆积完毕后焚烧吧！他们用所有香木堆积起来，堆积完毕后，以极大的恭敬焚烧，并在该处建造了一座巨大的佛塔，悬挂伞盖、胜幢和幡旗，设立了盛大的时节供养。凡是对它所作的任何行为，都趋向于升入天界。比丘们，你们怎么想？那时那时的熊，就是我啊。那时那时的忘恩负义之人，就是提婆达多此人啊。那时他也忘恩负义，不知报恩。现在他也忘恩负义，不知报恩。此外，听我说说他是如何忘恩负义，不知报恩的。比丘们，过去在瓦拉纳西城，有一个贫穷的人，他靠卖柴为生。有一次，他早上早早起来，拿着斧头和扁担，为了找柴而去了森林。在那座山的某个方向，有一片茂密的森林，长满了各种各样的树木，盛开着各种各样的花朵和果实。在那里，菩萨寄身于不确定的身体，生于熊群之中。当那个樵夫寻找木柴时，从另一个方向来了一只老虎，他被老虎追赶，因死亡的恐惧而惊慌失措，偶然爬上了菩萨熊所栖息的那棵树，他看到熊后更加害怕。那位伟大的菩萨安慰他，抓住他，将他放在怀里。那只老虎因为贪恋食物，不肯离开树下，说道：唉，伟大的主人，这些人都是忘恩负义之人啊。

They piled it up with all the fragrant wood, and after piling it up, they burned it with great reverence, and had a great stupa built in that place, hanging umbrellas, victory banners, and flags, and established a grand seasonal offering. Whatever actions were done to it all led to ascending to the heavens. Monks, what do you think? The bear at that time was me. The ungrateful person at that time was this Devadatta. Even then, he was ungrateful and did not know how to repay kindness. Even now, he is ungrateful and does not know how to repay kindness. Furthermore, listen to how he is ungrateful and does not know how to repay kindness. Monks, in the past, in the city of Varanasi, there was a poor man who made a living by selling firewood. Once, he got up early in the morning, took an axe and a carrying pole, and went to the forest to find firewood. In a certain direction of that mountain, there was a dense forest full of various kinds of trees, blooming with various kinds of flowers and fruits. There, the Bodhisattva resided in an uncertain body, born among the bears. When that woodcutter was looking for firewood, a tiger came from another direction, and he was chased by the tiger, and panicked by the fear of death, and accidentally climbed the tree where the Bodhisattva bear was dwelling. When he saw the bear, he became even more frightened. That great Bodhisattva comforted him, grabbed him, and placed him in his lap. The tiger, because of his attachment to food, refused to leave the foot of the tree, and said: Alas, great master, these black people are ungrateful people.
