Then he also admonished most of the people living there, and everyone began to look for the milk of young women. When the fourfold assembly and the crowd were searching, they tried to create obstacles in every possible way. At this time, in Rajagriha, the young women who had given birth to children had very little milk, and they could not even feed their own children enough. How could they have any extra to give to others? When she heard that the Blessed One needed the milk of young women, she thought: If I offer it, my child is too young, and if he has no milk, he will die. Moreover, the fault is not only this, but there are others as well. Devadatta has long opposed the Blessed One and has become his enemy. The one he abandoned was King Ajatashatru. Devadatta's group included Kokalika, the Kalandaka bird, Kati-morakatishya, and Samudradatta. She thought that these people would devour me like eating a ghost. She also thought, it is worth it for me to be killed or separated from my son, compared to the supreme god and the Buddha, the best of men, suffering from illness, so that all the people in Rajagriha will not be disturbed. I might as well take the milk! She developed great faith in the Blessed One, squeezed the milk into a new container, and went to where the Blessed One was. After arriving, she bowed her head to the feet of the Blessed One and said: Venerable Blessed One, Jivaka said that he needed the milk of young women. I want to follow you, please accept this milk of young women. Then, the Blessed One said to the Venerable Ananda: Ananda, take the milk from this virtuous woman. After Ananda took the milk, he bowed his head to the feet of the Blessed One and left from the presence of the Blessed One. After that, the Blessed One smiled. The Dharma is that whenever the Buddhas and Blessed Ones smile, blue, yellow, red, and white rays of light emanate from their mouths. Some rays go downwards, and some rays go upwards.
