Ah! No one should send food and drink to the prisoner. If anyone sends it, that person will be put to death. Since he is known to be a malicious person, no one should give him food, let alone send it. Then, Lushena, with a heart saddened by the hardships of her family, smeared her body with flour paste and filled the hollows of her anklets with water, and began to send it, thereby sustaining him. The prison guards knew her method, but because they liked the king, they did not tell Ajatasatru even though they saw it. Whenever Ajatasatru said to the prison guards: "Wise men, how does the old king survive?" They told him in detail. He said: "Wise men, by no means let Lushena send anything in again, block (the passage)." Then, in order for the Blessed One to generate his roots of virtue, he began to walk on the Vulture Peak Mountain directly in front of the window. King Bimbisara saw from the window the place where the Blessed One was on the Vulture Peak Mountain directly in front, and generated joy, and therefore did not die. Ajatasatru again said to the prison guards: "Wise men, if food and drink are forbidden, how does the old king survive now?" They said: "The Blessed One, in order to embrace him, walks on the Vulture Peak Mountain directly in front of the window, and he (the king) raises umbrellas one by one to watch." He said: "Block the window and cut off his two feet with a razor." They blocked the window and cut off his two feet with a razor, and he (the king), tormented by the feeling of pain, choked, his voice hoarse, his eyes filled with tears, and thought: "If I could get a little relief from the unbearable pain, would the Blessed One not know?" The Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, are not like that, they do not fail to understand, they do not fail to see, they do not fail to comprehend, they do not fail to know everything. By nature, the Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, are endowed with great compassion, engage in benefiting the world, are the sole protectors, the sole heroes, incomparable, and do not speak in two ways.

Abiding in tranquility and insight, skilled in the basis of the three times, crossing the four rivers, the soles of the feet of the four miraculous legs are well established, having practiced the four objects of collection for a long time, abandoning the five hindrances, truly transcending the five destinies, possessing the six limbs, perfecting the six perfections, rich with the flowers of the seven limbs of enlightenment, showing the eightfold path, skilled in the nine successive abidings of meditative absorption, possessing the power of the ten strengths, fame rightly spreading in the ten directions, those who excel over hundreds of times of mastery, are those who, with the Buddha's eye, the Buddha sees the world three times during the day and three times during the night, what is declining? What is increasing? What has become unbearable? What has become narrow? What has become painful? What has become unbearable, narrow, and painful? What is inclined towards the lower realms? What is falling into the lower realms? What is falling into the lower realms? I will lead them from the lower realms and place them in the heavens, liberation, and fruition. For those whose roots of virtue have not yet arisen, may they arise. For those whose roots of virtue have arisen, may they be fully ripened. For those who are fully ripened, may they be liberated, thus entering into the wisdom of seeing. Then, the Bhagavan spoke to the venerable great son of Maudgalyayana: Son of Maudgalyayana, go and with my words, may King Rupin be free from illness, say this, from the mouth of the Bhagavan it was said: Whatever a virtuous friend should do, I have already done for you. I have lifted your feet from the hells of sentient beings, the places of animals, and the pretas, and have placed you well among gods and humans. I have made an end to samsara, dried up the ocean of blood and tears, delivered you from the mountain of bones, closed the gates of the lower realms, and opened the gates of the heavens and liberation. However, the accumulation of your own karma, the complete transformation of conditions, approaching like lightning, the karma that will occur without being devoured by demons, is what you yourself have done and accumulated, who else will experience it individually? The karma done by the great king
