I don't have the enjoyment of wealth. The king said: Son, if that's the case, then go and Campā with its foundation is yours. He happily, contentedly, and very happily went to Devadatta and said: Holy one, I have obtained Campā with its foundation. He said: Young man, have you seen the result of oppressing others? Holy one, I have seen it. Now continue to oppress others, and you will become even more prosperous. He began to oppress Campā by imposing taxes, and as he oppressed them, the crowd of people began to flee. Some went to Rājagṛha, and some fled to other places. The ministers sent messengers to inform the king: Divine one, the young man is oppressing the people of Campā, and as he oppresses them, they are fleeing. It is fitting that the divine young man be restrained from this. The king said: Young man, why are you harming the people of the country? He said: Divine one, the army will not grow. The king said: Young man, if that is the case, then take the country of Magadha, except for Rājagṛha. He took the country of Magadha and went to Devadatta and said: Holy one, I have obtained all of the country of Magadha except for Rājagṛha. He said: Young man, that is the result of oppressing others, so continue to oppress others. He began to destroy the country of Magadha, and the people of Magadha pleaded with King Bimbisāra: Divine one, the young man is destroying the country of Magadha, please stop him. The king summoned him and said: Young man, why are you destroying the country of Magadha? He said: Divine one, the majority of my people will not grow. The king said: Young man, if that is the case, then everything except the treasury is yours alone. He took Rājagṛha as well and went to Devadatta and said: Holy one, I have obtained all the wealth except for the treasury. He said: That is the result of oppressing others, but kings have the power of the treasury. Whoever has the treasury is the king, so continue to oppress others for the sake of the treasury. He began to destroy Rājagṛha as well.

The people living in the capital of King Pana, the people living in the country of Magadha, and all the people of Champa were terrified. They sent messengers to inform the king as if Ajatasatru could not see them: 'O God, you have raised us separately like sons, but now you are being stingy as if you should not be stingy, causing most of the people in the land of the gods to flee, and we also intend to flee.' The king, a compassionate master who valued Dharma, felt unhappy and summoned Ajatasatru, comforting him with pleasant, sweet, and agreeable words: 'Child, I will give you all the land, why should you be discouraged and flee separately?' Ajatasatru said: 'O God, the kings have the power of treasure, but I do not have the power of treasure, what should I do?' The king said: 'If that is the case, then everything except the attendants of the consorts is yours alone.' However, a person with an evil nature and sinful friends cannot be tolerated and will only bring destruction. The king said with a reproachful tone: 'I have given you the treasury, the treasures, and all the land, why do you still destroy it?' After saying this, Ajatasatru became furious and said to the ministers: 'Wise people, what punishment should be given to the one who slanders the king who is crowned from the head of the royal family?' The ministers said: 'O God, he should be sentenced to death.' Ajatasatru said: 'He is my father, how can I kill him? Today, seize him and put him in prison.' When he was put in prison, the people living in that place felt unhappy after hearing that the people loved that king, because Ajatasatru was cruel, rude, and stingy, and no one dared to speak ill of him. King Bimbisara, who had a strong form, was imprisoned and relied only on karma, and his consorts sent him cooked food in containers. Ajatasatru asked the prison guards: 'Wise people, how does the old king live?' They replied: 'O God, the people of your land send him cooked food in containers.' Ajatasatru ordered: 'From now on, no food or drink should be sent to him in any way, stop them!' He also ordered the consorts.
