Before the complete Buddha Kashyapa, King Kiki addressed him thus: "Venerable One, is there anyone else who serves you like I do now?" The great king replied, "Yes, there is. In the town of your country, Bimbilinga, there is a potter named Gakyo who is extremely devoted to the Buddha, extremely devoted to the Dharma and the Sangha, takes refuge in the Buddha, takes refuge in the Dharma and the Sangha, is single-minded towards the Buddha, is single-minded towards the Dharma and the Sangha, has no doubt or hesitation about the Buddha, and has no doubt or hesitation about the Dharma, the Sangha, suffering, its origin, its cessation, and the path. He has seen the truth, attained the fruit, and realized it, abandoning leaves and pestles. He does not dig the earth with his own hands, nor does he allow others to dig it, except with tools dug by others or with hoes. Then, he takes the earth with his body, mixes it with lifeless water, makes vessels, places them aside, and says, 'Come, noble ones! Come, virtuous ones! Sesame or rice or beans, etc., place them aside, and whoever needs what, fill it with that.' He speaks thus, and with it he supports his two blind parents, and also offers me alms in due time. Great king, once when I was dwelling near the town of Bimbilinga, I put on my inner garments and robes in the morning, took my bowl and Dharma robes, and went to the town of Bimbilinga for alms. While going for alms in order, I went to the house of the potter Gakyo and gently knocked on the door. At that time, the potter Gakyo had gone out for some business. The parents of the potter Gakyo heard the sound of the knocking on the door. Having heard it, they said, 'Who is that noble one knocking gently on the door? Who is that virtuous one?' I said to them, 'I am the perfectly enlightened Buddha Kashyapa, seeking alms.'

Great King, I blessed the time of the unpleasant sound of the north, and only you took the warm food from inside the hut and the beans from inside the jar and enjoyed them. Then, one day the potters came, and the potter Happy Guardian saw that the warm food inside the hut and the beans inside the jar had been eaten. Having seen this, he said to his two blind parents, "Father and mother, who ate the warm food inside the hut and the beans inside the jar?" The two of them said, "Depa Happy Guardian, not long after you left, we heard a sound of knocking on the door here." Having heard this, they also said, "Who is that venerable one who is knocking on the door gently, not violently? Who is that beautiful one?" He said, "I am the perfectly complete Buddha Kashyapa, and I wish to beg for alms." Then he said to them, "Venerable one, please enter. Beautiful one, please enter. In this hut there is warm food, and in the jar there are beans, but the hospitality for you will be later. If you wish, please take and enjoy them." And he enjoyed the warm food inside the hut and the beans inside the jar. Then, the potter Happy Guardian thought to himself, "The perfectly complete Buddha Kashyapa has well taken care of and become familiar with me. I have obtained a great gain." Having realized this, with joy and happiness, he spent seven days in a single lotus position. For half a month, the memory associated with him did not leave his body, and that memory always remained uninterrupted in his body. For seven days, just as there was warm food in his parents' hut and beans in the jar, there was also warm food in the hut.
