地上说：如果那样的话，我也出家，有事要商量，你今天就在这里安顿下来吧！他就那样安顿下来了。铺床人用带鼠香气味的布铺床，又在上面撒满花瓣，不退转（指王子名）睡在床上，感觉到下面有花根的触感，就说：这下面有小石子吗？他们开始检查，看到一根花根，都觉得非常惊奇。不退转晚上睡得不安稳，天亮了。国王说：不退转，你睡得好吗？他说：陛下，我睡得不好。国王说：为什么？不退转说：陛下，因为铺着带鼠香气味的布，又撒满花瓣，花根硌得我难受。国王叫来铺床人，问：你为什么铺带鼠香气味的布？铺床人说：陛下，是管家交给我的。国王又叫来管家，问：你为什么给带鼠香气味的布？他说：陛下，是织工交给我的。国王又叫来织工，问：你为什么献上带鼠香气味的布？织工说：陛下，我织氆氇还剩一点没织完，我就带着鼠疫织完了。国王说：年轻人，你怎么知道的？他说：因为感受到了热的触感，所以知道是鼠香气味。国王非常惊讶，说：有智慧的不退转，是具有释迦好运的人啊！然后，释迦国王善护说：年轻人，如果我出家，提婆达多就会成为释迦族的国王，他会危害释迦族。来吧，我们都聚集起来，让提婆达多高兴吧！释迦国王善护这样说完，就召见了他。然后，大家都聚集起来说：提婆达多，如果我们都出家了，你怎么办？提婆达多心想，如果我说不出家，释迦国王善护就不会出家，想个办法吧。

The bed maker spread a cloth with the scent of muskrat, and scattered flower petals on it. The Irreversible One (referring to the prince's name) lay on the bed, and feeling the touch of flower roots underneath, he said: Are there pebbles underneath this? They began to examine it, and seeing a flower root, they were all very surprised. The Irreversible One slept uncomfortably at night, and it dawned. The king said: Irreversible One, did you sleep well? He said: Your Majesty, I did not sleep well. The king said: Why? The Irreversible One said: Your Majesty, because the cloth spread had the scent of muskrat, and flower petals were scattered on it, the flower roots were poking me uncomfortably. The king summoned the bed maker and asked: Why did you spread a cloth with the scent of muskrat? The bed maker said: Your Majesty, the steward gave it to me. The king then summoned the steward and asked: Why did you give a cloth with the scent of muskrat? He said: Your Majesty, the weaver gave it to me. The king then summoned the weaver and asked: Why did you offer a cloth with the scent of muskrat? The weaver said: Your Majesty, when I was weaving the woolen cloth and there was a little left unfinished, I finished weaving it while suffering from the plague. The king said: Young man, how did you know? He said: Because I felt the hot touch, I knew it was the scent of muskrat. The king was very surprised and said: The wise Irreversible One is one who possesses the good fortune of the Shakyas! Then, the Shakya king Good Protector said: Young man, if I renounce, Devadatta will become the king of the Shakyas, and he will harm the Shakyas. Come, let us all gather together and make Devadatta happy! Having said this, the Shakya king Good Protector summoned him. Then, everyone gathered together and said: Devadatta, if we all renounce, what will you do? Devadatta thought, if I say I will not renounce, the Shakya king Good Protector will not renounce.
