He was residing in a garden called Ltang Brang. The king of Maga, named Gongqiao Xingxin (Crafted-form Heart), said to the Blessed One, formerly all the mendicant sangha who had become wearers of matted hair, up to the point of complete liberation of mind. When the trees in the territory of Maga withered, the stupa of the Maga people, which had been well blessed in the Ltang Brang garden, they went there. The stupa of the Maga people, as if well blessed, sank into the lake. He thought, 'Have I not committed some small mistake?' The gods said to him: 'Great King, you have not committed any mistake, but those who are engaged in the same work as you, are in prison, let them out.' The king said: 'If that is so, then let them out,' and the king ordered the release of all prisoners. When the king was about to come out, his headdress touched the door. He thought again: 'I must have committed an unavoidable mistake, that is why this bad omen has occurred, the headdress touched the door.' The gods said again: 'Great King, you have not committed any mistake, but those who are engaged in the same work as you, some are gathered together, and some are finishing their work in a certain place called Ga Ge Mo, summon them all.' The king summoned all the people living in that place. Then, King Xingxin (Form Heart) with two thousand chariots, one hundred thousand attendant cavalry, the Brahmins of Maga, and hundreds of thousands of householders, set out from the royal palace, in order to behold the Blessed One and make offerings, they went before the Blessed One. They went by chariot as far as the place where they could ride. After getting off the chariot, they entered the monastery only on foot. The king of Maga, Gongqiao Xingxin (Crafted-form Heart), at the distance where he could see the Blessed One, took off the five symbols of the king: the umbrella, the canopy, the sword, the jeweled fan, and the patterned shoes. Vinaya Basis, Volume Eighty-nine. After that is Maga.

The king of Magadha, named Bimbisara, having relinquished the five signs of a king, went to where the Blessed One was. Having arrived, he draped his upper robe over one shoulder, prostrated with joined palms towards where the Blessed One was, and announced his name, saying it three times: "Venerable sir, I am the king of Magadha, named Bimbisara." "Venerable sir, I am the king of Magadha, named Bimbisara." "King, so it is, so it is. Great king, you are the king of Magadha, named Bimbisara. Great king, you are the king of Magadha, named Bimbisara. King, so it is. Great king, please sit on your own seat as it is." Then, the king of Magadha, Bimbisara, bowed his head at the Blessed One's two feet and sat down to one side. Some of the Brahmins and householders of Magadha also bowed their heads at the Blessed One's two feet and sat down to one side. Some, having seen the Blessed One from afar, sat down to one side without saying anything. At that time, the venerable Uruvilva-Kassapa was assembled in that very gathering and was seated. Then, the Brahmins and householders of Magadha thought to themselves: "What did the great ascetic Kassapa Uruvilva-Kassapa ask with verses? "Kassapa, dweller, what do you see here? Having abandoned fire, you practice these austerities. How did you abandon the fire sacrifice? Noble Kassapa, please tell me." Kassapa Uruvilva-Kassapa replied: "Some of these only talk about food and drink, And desires and women alone. Having clearly seen the defilement of these means, Therefore, I do not like sacrifice and fire offering." "You are not interested in desires, food, drink, And likewise, flavors. Then, in what are you interested in the world of gods and humans? Kassapa, tell me with a question." "Without body, without peace, without attachment to desire, without change. Having seen the supreme status that cannot be destroyed by others, Therefore, I do not like sacrifice and fire offering. The supreme status that does not diminish"

Because I have not seen, with offerings, asceticism, and pure conduct, thinking to be liberated, my mind is ignorant, like a blind person wandering after birth and death. The savior, the chief one, has spoken well, if one can realize the supreme state without mixing it up. Sage Gautama, who guides you, most beings strive for meaning and abide in truth. The Blessed One said: Your realization is well realized, you have not thought wrongly, among the well-distinguished dharmas, take the chief one. Kashyapa, generate renunciation! Then, the venerable Udayin Kashyapa, having been permitted by the Blessed One, how to keep the mind in equanimity, disappeared into his own seat, and appeared in the sky above the east, performing four kinds of conduct, namely walking, standing, sitting, and lying down. He also entered the fire samadhi, and having entered the fire samadhi, the body of the venerable Udayin Kashyapa emitted various kinds of light, namely blue, yellow, red, white, purple, and crystal colors. He also showed double miracles, making fire blaze from the lower part of his body and cold water flow from the upper part of his body, making fire blaze from the upper part of his body and cold water flow from the lower part of his body, thus he entered samadhi. Just as in the east, so also in the south, west, and north. Having shown four kinds of miracles in the four directions, he gathered up the things manifested by the miracles, draped his upper robe over one shoulder, knelt down on his right knee, and with his palms joined respectfully towards the place where the Blessed One was, he spoke thus to the Blessed One: The Blessed One is my teacher, I am the Blessed One's disciple, the Blessed One is my teacher, teacher! I am the Blessed One's disciple, disciple! Kashyapa, it is so, it is so, Kashyapa, I am you.
