If it becomes, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the perfectly enlightened one, will become famous in the world, that (is) a divine transformation! Do not say: God is more master than the master! Why is that? Everyone, from the so-called Shakya youth to the so-called appearance, is the same as before. If he becomes a Chakravartin king, he will serve him. If he shaves his hair and beard, puts on a kasaya, and only with true faith, goes from home to homelessness, and becomes the Tathagata, the Arhat, the perfectly enlightened one, who is famous in the world, he should promise to be his attendant. After that, King Bimbisara of Magadha, sitting on the base of the palace, made five wishes: Alas! In my country, the teacher of the world, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the perfectly enlightened one, endowed with knowledge and conduct, the Sugata, the knower of the world, the unsurpassed guide of men, the teacher of gods and men, the Buddha, the Blessed One, appears, and in order to look at him, I approach, and after approaching, he also teaches me the Dharma, and I also understand the Dharma he teaches, and after I understand the Dharma, I observe the precepts, and if I can also observe the precepts and live, how wonderful it would be! After that, the Blessed One told the monks: Monks, King Bimbisara of Magadha, sitting on the base of the palace, made five wishes: Alas! In my country, the teacher of the world, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the perfectly enlightened one, endowed with knowledge and conduct, the Sugata, the knower of the world, the unsurpassed guide of men, the teacher of gods and men, the Buddha, the Blessed One, appears, and in order to look at him, I approach, and after approaching, he also teaches me the Dharma, and I also understand the Dharma he teaches, and after I understand the Dharma, I observe the precepts, and if I can also observe the precepts and live.

Even staying there, one might wonder what it would be like. The Magadha king, Skilled-in-Crafts, Firm-of-Form, Heartwood (bzo sbyangs gzugs can snying po), who lived on milk-rice, while traveling, a youth of the Shakya clan appeared on the summit of the Snow Mountains, on the bank of the Ganges River (chu bo skal ldan shing rta), not far from the hermitage of the sage Kapila (drang srong ser skye), from the so-called Brahmin astrologers and diviners, to the prophecy that "he will be renowned in the world," all as previously stated. He shaved his hair and beard, donned monastic robes, and solely through pure faith, went forth from home into homelessness, attained the unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment, and became a Buddha. At the stupa on Gaya Head, all one thousand monks who had previously been ascetics with matted hair also became Arhats, those with defilements exhausted, tasks completed, deeds done, burdens cast off, having attained their own benefit, completely exhausted the bonds of existence, and abiding together with those whose minds were completely liberated by correct knowledge, so it was heard. Having heard this, the Magadha king, Skilled-in-Crafts, Firm-of-Form, Heartwood, went to where Skilled-in-Crafts, Firm-of-Form, Heartwood was, and having seen him, spoke thus to the Magadha king, Skilled-in-Crafts, Firm-of-Form, Heartwood: May the gods be aware. As we were traveling in this realm of the gods, the youth of the Shakya clan, from the so-called "Who is that one" to "he will be renowned in the world," all as previously stated. He shaved his hair and beard, donned monastic robes, and solely through pure faith, went forth from home into homelessness, attained the unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment, and became a Buddha. At the stupa on Gaya Head, all the monks who had previously been ascetics with matted hair also became Arhats, those with defilements exhausted, to those whose minds were completely liberated by correct knowledge, all abiding together, as previously stated. Please, gods, pay homage to him, and in that case, the gods will become more venerable than the chief god. Then, the Magadha king, Skilled-in-Crafts, Firm-of-Form, Heartwood, commanded a man: Hey, inner attendant, go to where the Bhagavan is, and with these words of mine, bow with your head to the two feet of the Bhagavan.

Are you comfortable? Is there little fear? Are you able to live? Is your movement light and easy? Do you have strength, happiness, and physical well-being? Do you enjoy comfort? Please ask this way. I, the Blessed One, along with the community of monks, will, to the best of my ability, offer robes, alms, bedding, medicinal supplies, and utensils. Please, Blessed One, may you go to Rajagriha (王舍城). After that person heard from King Bimbisara (净饭王子) of Magadha (摩揭陀) "as the gods have commanded," he went to where the Blessed One was, and upon arriving, he bowed his head to the Blessed One's feet, and then sat to one side, and said to the Blessed One: Venerable One, King Bimbisara of Magadha bows his head to the Blessed One's feet, asking if you are comfortable, if there is little fear, and so on, up to whether you enjoy comfort, as before, inquiring about your health. O man, may you and King Bimbisara of Magadha be well! Venerable One, the offering of King Bimbisara of Magadha is this: I, the Blessed One, along with the community of monks, will, to the best of my ability, offer robes, alms, bedding, medicinal supplies, and utensils. I beseech you, Blessed One, to go to Rajagriha. The Blessed One said nothing to that person, indicating acceptance. Then that person, knowing that the Blessed One had not spoken, indicating acceptance, bowed his head to the Blessed One's feet and departed from the Blessed One's presence. After that, the Blessed One, together with the great community of monks who had previously all been ascetics with matted hair, all of whom were Arhats, from the exhaustion of defilements to the complete liberation of the mind through perfect knowledge, traveled through the land of Magadha and went to the stupa of the people of Magadha, where there was a well-established sacred place in the cool grove. Then the Blessed One arrived at the well-established sacred place, the well-established stupa of the people of Magadha.
