is equipoise. Although the Bodhisattva experienced such unbearable, rough, and unpleasant feelings, he cultivated his body in this way, but his mind did not sink. He thought to himself: I shall further enter into the meditation of surpassing liberation. He further undertook to enter into the meditation of surpassing liberation. When he entered into the meditation of surpassing liberation, he stopped the intake and outflow of breath from his mouth and nose. Because he stopped the intake and outflow of breath from his mouth and nose, his entire abdomen became full, extremely full. Just as a blacksmith's bellows, when blown, becomes full, extremely full, so at that time, when the Bodhisattva entered into the meditation of surpassing liberation, his entire abdomen became full, and although it became extremely full, he did not shrink back, but exerted effort and diligence, he did not fail to tame his body, but tamed it, he was not drowsy, but remained mindful, it was single-pointed concentration of mind.

Where is it? Although the Bodhisattva experiences such unbearable suffering, harsh, hot, and unpleasant feelings, because he has cultivated his body in this way, his mind does not completely collapse and abide. He thinks thus: I shall enter into samadhi, such as the samadhi of non-perception. He further strives to enter into samadhi, such as the samadhi of non-perception. When he enters into samadhi, such as the samadhi of non-perception, he stops the intake and outflow of breath from his mouth and nose. When he stops the intake and outflow of breath from his mouth and nose, at that time, an extremely unbearable feeling of the head arises in his head. For example, if a strong man repeatedly binds the head of a very weak man with a head箍 (headband), then an extremely unbearable feeling of the head arises in his head. Similarly, at that time, when the Bodhisattva enters into samadhi, such as the samadhi of non-perception, although an extremely unbearable feeling of the head arises in his head, he is not discouraged, but initiates diligence. He does not fail to subdue his body, but subdues it. He is not drowsy, but abides in mindfulness. It is the one-pointedness of mind that abides. Although the Bodhisattva experiences such unbearable suffering, harsh, hot, and unpleasant feelings, because he has cultivated his body, his mind does not completely collapse and abide. When he stops the intake and outflow of breath from his mouth and nose, at that time, an unbearable feeling of the abdomen arises in his abdomen. For example, if a skilled butcher of cattle, or a skilled disciple of a butcher of cattle, cuts open the belly of a cow with a sharp knife for slaughtering cattle, then an extremely unbearable feeling of the abdomen arises in its abdomen. Similarly, at that time, when the Bodhisattva enters into samadhi, such as the samadhi of non-perception, although an extremely unbearable feeling of the abdomen arises in his abdomen, he is not discouraged, but initiates diligence.
