Also. People are never satisfied, like the fire of trees in the Soga Tsa season. It is said that desires are related to blood feuds. The king is difficult to conquer, like a mud pit. The root of suffering, sorrow, and fear is shown by evil minds. King, even as soon as I was born, I developed a dislike for desires. How can those who have become enemies of the terrifying Dharma be taken back again after being abandoned? The summit is diverse and vast, Mount Kailash might be moved by the wind, but my mind relies on liberation, and the power of desire cannot shake it. This world is immersed in desire, wandering around in the cycle of samsara. I, the king, am the protector, there is no other, liberate them from great fear. Know the faults of desires, see the peaceful Nirvana, to calm my mind, I will go to a place of joy. King with Form asked: Venerable renunciate, what is the purpose of this asceticism? He replied: For the unsurpassed perfect enlightenment. The king asked: Venerable renunciate, when you attain unsurpassed perfect enlightenment, please also think of me. The Bodhisattva replied: Let it be thought of in that way. Having said that, he came out of the royal palace and went to the place where the practitioners lived, not far from Vulture Peak Mountain. They practiced and lived, focusing on meditation. When they stood on one foot for a day, the Bodhisattva stood for two sessions. If they sat for a day with the application of the five heats, the Bodhisattva also sat for two sessions with the same application. Then they were surprised and said: This practitioner is truly great! So he was called a great practitioner, a great practitioner. The Bodhisattva said to them: Wise ones, what purpose do you seek with this asceticism? Some of them replied: It is Indra himself. Others replied: We are Brahma himself.

Some said: It is Mara. The Bodhisattva thought: These ascetics are falling back again, entering a wrong path, this path is not effective. Then, he went to where the son of Skillful Knowledge, Long Flight, was, and said this to the son of Skillful Knowledge, Long Flight: Long Flight, if you have no discomfort, I will practice Brahmacharya in your presence. He said: Venerable Gautama, I have no discomfort, please stay comfortably. The Bodhisattva said: Long Flight, how much Dharma have you realized? He said: Venerable Gautama, up to the realm of nothingness. Then, the Bodhisattva thought: The son of Skillful Knowledge, Long Flight, has faith, and I also have faith; the son of Skillful Knowledge, Long Flight, has diligence, mindfulness, concentration, and wisdom, and I also have diligence, mindfulness, concentration, and wisdom. Since the son of Skillful Knowledge, Long Flight, has realized the Dharma up to the realm of nothingness, why can't I also realize these Dharmas? Then, the Bodhisattva, in order to attain those Dharmas that had not been attained, in order to realize those Dharmas that had not been realized, and in order to manifest those Dharmas that had not been manifested, lived alone in solitude, diligently, earnestly, and devoted to himself. When he lived alone in solitude, diligently, earnestly, and devoted to himself, he soon manifested those Dharmas. Having manifested those Dharmas, he again went to where the son of Skillful Knowledge, Long Flight, was, and said this to the son of Skillful Knowledge, Long Flight: Long Flight, have you manifested these Dharmas up to the realm of nothingness with your own direct knowledge? He said: Venerable Gautama, yes, I have manifested those Dharmas up to the realm of nothingness. The Bodhisattva said: Venerable Long Flight, I

also directly realized those dharmas between the realm of nothingness with his own direct knowledge. Venerable Gautama, since you are the same as me, and I am the same as you, then in this matter we are similar and equal, come, let us two together guide this sangha. Then, the son of skillful knowledge flew far away, the first teacher of the Bodhisattva himself forgot with the holy one of forgetting, and worshiped the Bodhisattva with the holy one of worship. He was also delighted and satisfied with those realizations. Then, the Bodhisattva thought to himself: This path cannot be understood, cannot be seen, and cannot be awakened to unexcelled perfect enlightenment. Then, the Bodhisattva realized that that path was powerless, so he went to where Rañjaka's son Lāgaka was, and after arriving, he said these words to Rañjaka's son Lāgaka: Lāgaka, if you have no discomfort, I can practice brahmacharya in your presence. He replied: Venerable Gautama, I have no discomfort, please stay as you please. How many dharmas have you directly realized? Venerable Gautama, up to the realm of neither perception nor non-perception. Then, the Bodhisattva thought to himself: Rañjaka's son Lāgaka has faith, and I also have faith. Rañjaka's son Lāgaka has diligence, mindfulness, samadhi, and wisdom, if I also have diligence, mindfulness, samadhi, and wisdom like Rañjaka's son Lāgaka, Rañjaka's son Lāgaka has directly realized these dharmas between the realm of neither perception nor non-perception, why should I not directly realize these dharmas? Then, the Bodhisattva, in order to obtain those dharmas that had not yet been obtained, in order to realize those that had not yet been realized, and in order to directly realize those that had not yet been directly realized, lived alone in a secluded place, being careful and diligent, abiding in self-exertion. Living alone in a secluded place, being careful and diligent,
