Who can kill me? Let you believe who can kill me without hesitation. Then, the lord of the gods, Indra, touched the two feet of the Bodhisattva, offered the fine cotton cloth garments, and took away the Kashi silk cloths. The Bodhisattva's body and the fine cotton cloth garments were not suitable, and he thought like this: Alas, may the fine cotton cloth garments be suitable for my body. As soon as he said it, those fine cotton cloth garments became suitable for the Bodhisattva's body in this way by the power of the Bodhisattvas and the power of the gods. The Bodhisattva thought: Now that I have renounced, I should take care of sentient beings. Then, the lord of the gods, Indra, took away the Bodhisattva's Kashi silk cloth garments and established the great Kashi offering among the thirty-three gods. Brahmins and devout householders also built a stupa called "Took the Kasaya" in that direction, and even now, monks who worship the stupa are prostrating. Then the Bodhisattva having shaved his head and wearing kasaya robes, wandered around in the forest of asceticism and went to the abode of the son of the evil-doing sage. At that time, the son of the evil-doing sage was resting his cheek on his hand, lost in thought, and the Bodhisattva saw him and said: Great sage, why are you resting your cheek on your hand, lost in thought? He replied: In my abode, the palm trees have grown golden leaves, flowers, and fruits, but they are not as they were before. The Bodhisattva said: Great sage, by what power do the palm trees in this abode have golden leaves, flowers, and fruits? It is because he has truly seen old age, sickness, and death, and has become disgusted and lives in the forest of asceticism. If he had not truly seen old age, sickness, and death, and had become disgusted and lived in the forest of asceticism, then this garden would belong to him.

Having spoken thus, the great ascetic, the son of Ngan Spong, began to examine the Bodhisattva. Then, seeing his good looks and peaceful demeanor, he examined him for a long time and, marveling, asked: "O renunciant, is it only you?" The Bodhisattva said: "Great ascetic, it is indeed so." Then, the son of Ngan Spong, with eyes wide with wonder, looked at the Bodhisattva, first invited him to sit on a seat, and offered him flowers and fruits. Having pleased him in every way, the Bodhisattva took a moment and said: "Great ascetic, how far is it from here to the foundation of the city of Serkya (Kapilavastu)?" He replied: "It is twelve yojanas." The Bodhisattva thought: "The foundation of the city of Serkya is near. It is not appropriate to stay here, for the Shakyas will cause village disputes." "I shall cross the Ganges," thinking thus, he crossed the Ganges and gradually traveled and went to Rajgir. The Bodhisattva was skilled in crafts and trades, so he made a bowl from the leaves of the Karavira tree, and with peaceful conduct, he entered Rajgir for alms. At that time, King Bimbisara was sitting on the base of the upper mansion, and he saw him walking, returning, looking, gazing, contracting, stretching, wearing a kasaya robe, and holding a beautiful bowl. He saw him practicing alms. Having seen him, he thought to himself: "There are many renunciants in Rajgir, but there is no one with such conduct as this renunciant." Then he said: "Just as the sighted walk, the Dharma of renunciation should be proclaimed. After examining this person, he truly chose renunciation. Household life is suffering, this is the place of dust; renunciation is like the sky, knowing this, he renounced at that time. Having renounced, he abandoned the sinful deeds of the body, abandoned the sinful deeds of speech, and made his life completely pure. Then, he went to the capital city of Magadha, Rajgir, and the Protector remembered with mindfulness.

Possessing. That one who went for alms, the lord of Magadha, skilled in crafts, was seen sitting in the palace. Having seen him, faith arose in his mind, and then he spoke these words to the ministers: "Adorned with excellent marks, with perfectly complete limbs, and a straight neck, wise ones, look at this one! He does not raise his eyes, his mind is upright, and he is not born from a low caste. Where does he go to dwell?" The king sent messengers after him. Then he instructed the messengers: "Where does that monk go, and where does he dwell? Follow after him." When he went for alms, after the six gates were well closed, with mindfulness and awareness, he quickly filled his bowl. After practicing alms, the Thuba came out of the city, manifested from a blue lotus, and dwelt there. Having learned that he had settled, one messenger stayed, and the other quickly returned and spoke these words to the king: "Great king, that monk, like a lion or a tiger cub, dwells in the mountain valleys, he dwells on top of a blue lotus." Having heard the words of the messengers, the lord of the earth went to the tree, surrounded by ministers, and quickly went there. He rode in a vehicle, got off the vehicle, walked closer, and then saw the Tathagata. The king sat down and spoke words of joy and delight, he was neither arrogant nor rude, and he spoke these reasons well. "Monk, you are in the prime of youth, and you dwell here, such a majestic person, the act of begging is not fitting. Beautiful houses and women adorned with ornaments, and the best enjoyments I offer you, please tell me what is your lineage?" "King, near the snowy mountains, the region of the land is filled with wealth and grain, it is known as Kosala. The sugarcane lineage, the descendants of the sun, the Shakyas live there. King, my lineage is royal, I do not seek desires. This land with mountains and oceans, and all the jewels have been protected."
