It is wrong to name him 'Extremely Manifest'. However, all of this is the power of the Bodhisattva. On Mount Kun-dzin, there lived a sage named 'Without Afflictions', who was skilled in destruction and creation. His nephew was named 'Fire Offering'. He often told him stories of destruction and creation, so he renounced from that. When the Bodhisattva Bhagavan was born, the entire world was illuminated by a great light. At that time, Fire Offering entered the cave to meditate, and when he saw that light, he said to Without Afflictions, 'Teacher, have all the suns appeared here at once? Like this, the mountain has a cave, but it is illuminated by light.' Without Afflictions said to him, 'The light of the sun is always hot, but this light, when touched by the limbs, feels cool. This must be the light of the Muni, the great light of the Bodhisattva. He must have just been born from the womb, and after being born, the rays of that great Bodhisattva, like gold, immaculate, illuminate the three realms.' Fire Offering said, 'Teacher, I will go to see the Bodhisattva.' He said, 'Now the Bodhisattva is of great power, surrounded and attended by gods of great power, so there is no opportunity for us to approach. When the Bodhisattva Bhagavan comes to Kapilavastu (Serkya) and is named, we will go to see him then.' On the very day that the Bodhisattva Bhagavan was born, five hundred attendants of King Śuddhodana (Zas-gtsang), headed by 'Desire', and five hundred female attendants, headed by 'Desire-Mother', were also born. Five hundred white cows and five hundred mares also followed. The entrances to five hundred treasures also appeared. The kings of the border states also offered taxes. The ministers told King Śuddhodana what had happened, and the king thought, 'Since I have given birth to a son, all purposes and endeavors are fulfilled, therefore I will name the prince 'All Purposes Accomplished'.

Then, the Bodhisattva was first given this name, namely, "All Purposes Achieved." In the land of the city of Shakya (Kapilavastu), there resided a Yaksha named Shakya-vardhana. The custom of the Shakyas was that whichever Shakya gave birth to a boy or girl, they would take that child to bow at the feet of the Yaksha Shakya-vardhana. Therefore, the king instructed the ministers: "Wise ones, today, let the young one bow at the feet of the Yaksha Shakya-vardhana!" The ministers, having listened to King Shuddhodana, placed the Bodhisattva on a palanquin made of four kinds of jewels and began to enter the city of Shakya. Those violent, prejudiced, rude, and impolite Shakyas of the city of Shakya, when the Bodhisattva entered, remained as if they were saints. The ministers spoke to the king, and King Shuddhodana thought: "These Shakyas of the city of Shakya are violent, prejudiced, and impolite, but when the young one entered, they remained as if they were saints. Therefore, let the young one be named Shakya-muni." Then, the Bodhisattva was given the second name, namely, Shakya-muni. The Bodhisattva went to a place near the residence of the Yaksha Shakya-vardhana, and the Yaksha Shakya-vardhana saw the Bodhisattva approaching the residence. Having seen him, he came out and prostrated his entire body at the two feet of the Bodhisattva. The crowd said to King Shuddhodana: "O God, the Yaksha Shakya-vardhana has prostrated at the two feet of the Bodhisattva!" Having heard this, the king said: "Wise ones, even the god has prostrated at the two feet of the young one, so this one is the god of gods. Therefore, let the young one be named the god of gods." Then, the Bodhisattva was given the third name, namely, the god of gods. As soon as the Bodhisattva was born, the father and mother entrusted him to the wet nurses, saying: "Wet nurses, you should massage the young one from time to time, bathe him from time to time, give him food from time to time, and attend to him with true happiness from time to time."

Please do. The mother took him with her joyful hands and massaged him from time to time. Bathed him from time to time. Gave him food from time to time. Served him with pure bliss from time to time. And then, he was anointed with those substances whose scent was very pleasing, and adorned with all ornaments, and offered to his father, Śuddhodana. King Śuddhodana took him and placed him on his lap, repeatedly contemplating him and generating joy. According to the rule, as soon as the Bodhisattva is born, the father and mother immediately show him to the Brahmins who are astrologers and diviners. O wise ones, know that a great man who possesses which qualities will have two destinies, and no other: If he remains a householder, he will become a universal monarch, victorious in the four directions, a king of Dharma, endowed with Dharma, and possessed of seven precious things. These are his seven precious things: the precious wheel, the precious elephant, the precious horse, the precious jewel, the precious woman, the precious householder, and the seventh is the precious minister. The son is brave and courageous, endowed with the best form, and able to destroy the enemy forces. He will conquer the entire great earth up to the ocean without harm or injury, and will establish it in peace according to the Dharma. If he shaves his hair and beard, puts on the ochre robe, and goes forth from home to homelessness with pure faith alone, then he will be called the Tathagata, the Arhat, the perfectly enlightened Buddha, and his fame will spread throughout the world. He will possess the thirty-two marks of a great man. O wise ones, a great man who possesses which qualities will have two destinies, and no other? From "his fame will spread throughout the world" onwards, what are the thirty-two marks of a great man? The feet of the young god are very firmly planted. Because his two feet are very firmly planted, they rest evenly on the ground. This god is
