Sava, the venerable Krishna has come, well done! Has come, well done! We have not come rejoicing to see you. For what reason, because of you, the Licchavis of Vaishali have great faith in the Buddha, great faith in the Dharma and the Sangha, and therefore offer special offerings to the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha. He said: Although this is so, the monks of Vaishali, without rebuking me, without remembering me, expelled me from the Sangha by force. When the monks reported this to the Blessed One, the Blessed One said: Monk, stay! I will admonish you with the Dharma. Then, the Blessed One admonished him with the Dharma. The monks of Vaishali regretted and said: We have done something wrong by expelling the monk Krishna, who is without fault and has done no harm, from the Sangha without rebuking him or remembering him. So they took their bowls and robes and went to where Shravasti was. On the way, they met a monk and asked: Venerable, where do you come from? From Shravasti. Have you seen Krishna, the son of the deer-holder? I have seen him. What is he doing? We expelled him, who is without fault and has done no harm, from the Sangha without rebuking him or remembering him. Has he been admonished? He has been admonished by the Blessed One. Some said: It is not admonishment, but temporary admonishment. Because we have already expelled him from the Sangha, it is unreasonable to admonish him before we have publicly acknowledged it. Some said: If the Blessed One, the Lord of Dharma, the Sugata, the Lord of Dharma, has admonished him, then he has been well admonished. They gradually reached Shravasti, put down their bowls and robes, washed their feet, and went to where the Blessed One was. When they arrived, they bowed their heads at the feet of the Blessed One and sat to one side. Sitting to one side, the monks of Vaishali reported to the Blessed One: Venerable, we are children, foolish, unclear, and unskilled.
