Regarding the concealment of having committed a Sanghavasesa offense, the Sangha gave a Parivasa (probation) that was not in accordance with the Dharma due to the disruptive action. While he was undergoing the Parivasa, he learned of another offense. He knew what offense he had not confessed within the Sangha, and he also knew what offense he had confessed within the Sangha. Then he said to the monks: "Venerable ones, I committed a Sanghavasesa offense and concealed it, and the Sangha therefore gave me a Parivasa that was not in accordance with the Dharma due to the disruptive action. While I was undergoing the Parivasa, I learned of another offense. I know what offense I have not confessed within the Sangha, and I also know which of my offenses the Sangha gave a Parivasa to that was not in accordance with the Dharma due to the disruptive action. Venerable ones, please allow me to state it properly, because my previous and subsequent offenses should not be corrected with an action in accordance with the Dharma, so a Parivasa should not be given." Those monks gave a Parivasa for his previous offense that should not be corrected with an action in accordance with the Dharma, and for the subsequent offense, they gave a Parivasa that should be corrected with a disruptive action not in accordance with the Dharma. While he was undergoing the Parivasa, he concealed a middle Sanghavasesa offense that was similar to the previous offense. He knew which of his offenses the Sangha had given a Parivasa to that was not in accordance with the Dharma due to the disruptive action, and then he said to the monks: "Venerable ones, I committed a Sanghavasesa offense and concealed it, and the Sangha therefore gave me a Parivasa that was not in accordance with the Dharma due to the disruptive action. While I was undergoing the Parivasa, I concealed a middle Sanghavasesa offense that was similar to the previous offense, and I also know my middle offense, and which of my offenses the Sangha gave a Parivasa to that was not in accordance with the Dharma due to the disruptive action. Venerable ones, please allow me to state it properly, because my previous offense and the middle offense should not be corrected with an action in accordance with the Dharma, so a Parivasa should not be given." Those monks gave a Parivasa for his previous offense that should not be corrected with an action in accordance with the Dharma. For the middle offense, they gave a disruptive action not in accordance with the Dharma.

因为适合安置，所以给予根本铲除。那个人在进行根本铲除的过程中，又隐瞒了再犯的僧残罪，与中间罪相似。那个人也知道再犯的罪过。也知道对于哪个中间罪，僧团已经给予了适合安置非如法事业的根本铲除。于是他对众比丘说：诸位有德者，我知道我隐瞒了所犯的僧残罪，与之前的中间罪相似。僧团因此给予了我适合安置非如法事业的根本铲除。我在进行根本铲除的过程中，又隐瞒了再犯的僧残罪，与中间罪相似。我也知道再犯的罪过，因为隐瞒了与之前的中间罪相似的罪过，僧团因此给予了我适合安置非如法事业的根本铲除。诸位有德者，我知道对于那个中间罪给予了根本铲除，对于这次再犯给予了根本铲除，对于这次再犯给予了重新建立，对于那件事不适合安置不如法的事业，请好好地告诉我。那些比丘对于他之前的罪过，认为不适合安置不如法的事业，所以给予了根本铲除。对于再犯的罪过，认为适合安置不如法的事业，所以给予了重新建立。另外一个人，犯了僧残罪，僧团给予了适合安置不如法事业的悦意行，那个人在进行悦意行的过程中，又犯了僧残罪，与之前的中间罪相似，那个人也知道那个中间罪，以及僧团已经给予了适合安置不如法事业的悦意行。于是他对众比丘说：诸位

Because it was appropriate to place, the root eradication was given. While that person was undergoing root eradication, he also concealed the repeated offense of a sanghavasesa offense, similar to an intermediate offense. That person also knew the repeated offense. He also knew that for which intermediate offense the Sangha had given root eradication appropriate for placing a non-Dharmic action. Then he said to the monks: Venerable ones, I know that I concealed the sanghavasesa offense that I committed, similar to the previous intermediate offense. Therefore, the Sangha gave me root eradication appropriate for placing a non-Dharmic action. While I was undergoing root eradication, I also concealed the repeated offense of a sanghavasesa offense, similar to an intermediate offense. I also know the repeated offense, and because I concealed the offense similar to the previous intermediate offense, the Sangha gave me root eradication appropriate for placing a non-Dharmic action. Venerable ones, I know that for that intermediate offense, root eradication was given, for this repeated offense, root eradication was given, and for this repeated offense, reinstatement was given. It is not appropriate to place a non-Dharmic action on that matter, please tell me well. Those monks, for his previous offense, considered it inappropriate to place a non-Dharmic action, so they gave root eradication. For the repeated offense, they considered it appropriate to place a non-Dharmic action, so they gave reinstatement. Another person committed a sanghavasesa offense, and the Sangha gave a pleasing act appropriate for placing a non-Dharmic action. While that person was undergoing the pleasing act, he committed another sanghavasesa offense, similar to the previous intermediate offense, and that person also knew that intermediate offense, and that the Sangha had given a pleasing act appropriate for placing a non-Dharmic action.
