Having not concealed the intermediate offense similar to the previous offense, I was therefore subjected by the Sangha to an unlawful and confusing act, and was given the fundamental act of pleasing. While I was performing the fundamental act of pleasing, I again repeated, without concealing, a Sanghavasesa offense similar to the intermediate offense. I also know that repeated offense of mine. I also know which intermediate offense of mine caused the Sangha to subject me to an unlawful and confusing act, and to give me the fundamental act of pleasing. Venerable ones, please grant the fundamental act of pleasing for my previous and intermediate offenses, and fundamentally raise up from this repeated offense, and please grant well that which should not be subjected to the act of pleasing and the unlawful and confusing act. Those monks granted the fundamental act of pleasing for the previous offense of that monk, and fundamentally raised up from this repeated offense, granting that which should not be subjected to the act of pleasing and the unlawful and confusing act. Just as four are by knowledge, so are four by memory, and so are four by doubt. When a Sanghavasesa offense occurs to one who practices expulsion, the monks reported it to the Blessed One, and the Blessed One declared: If one is disciplined after having been fundamentally purified, and confesses the offense of transgression, then that is solely the practice of expulsion. When a Sanghavasesa offense occurs to one who practices half-expulsion, the monks reported it to the Blessed One, and the Blessed One declared: If one is disciplined after having been fundamentally purified, and confesses the offense of transgression, then that is solely the practice of half-expulsion. When a Sanghavasesa offense occurs to one who practices mostly expulsion, the monks reported it to the Blessed One, and the Blessed One declared: If one is disciplined after having been fundamentally purified, and confesses the offense of transgression, then that is solely the practice of mostly expulsion. When a Sanghavasesa offense occurs to one who practices pleasing, the monks reported it to the Blessed One, and the Blessed One declared: If one is disciplined after having been fundamentally purified, and confesses the offense of transgression, then that is solely the practice of pleasing.
