Nyi said this. "Noble one, please come inside. Virtuous one, please come inside. The opportunity to serve you will come later, but now there is warm porridge and bean flour. Please take it and enjoy it." Great King, after I blessed it with the unpleasant sound of the north, I took the warm porridge and bean flour and enjoyed it. Then one day, the potter Gakyong came and saw that the warm porridge and bean flour had been eaten, and said to his parents, "Father and mother, who ate the warm porridge and bean flour?" The two of them said, "Gakyong, after you left, we heard a sound of knocking on the door. After hearing it, we said, 'Who is this noble one? Who is this virtuous one knocking on the door?' He said, 'I am the perfectly complete Buddha Kashyapa, come to beg for alms.' We said to him, 'Noble one, please come inside. Virtuous one, please come inside. The opportunity to serve you will come later, but now there is warm porridge and bean flour. Please take it and enjoy it.' He enjoyed those things." Then the potter Gakyong thought, "The perfectly complete Buddha Kashyapa has become very humble and friendly in my house. I have truly obtained a great benefit." Thinking this, he felt happy and very happy, and sat in the lotus position for seven days. For half a month, he did not abandon the joy that accompanied him, and that joy was always with him, without interruption. In this way, by the power of the Buddhas and the power of the gods, the warm porridge and bean flour of the parents remained the same for seven days. Great King, once I stayed near a town in the land of Videha, and vowed to observe the summer retreat, and the rain-bringing deity in my temple first rained down the rain. At that time, the potter Gakyong's servant

The house was covered with grass. I commanded the monks who attended me, saying, 'Monks, today you should cover my monastery with the thatch of the workshop of the potter Gakyo.' The monks, having heard from me, 'As you command, O Blessed One,' began to dismantle the thatch of the workshop of the potter Gakyo. At that time, the potter Gakyo had gone out for some business. The father and mother of the potter Gakyo heard the sound of dismantling the thatch of the workshop. Having heard it, they said, 'Who is this noble one? Who is this beautiful one? Who is dismantling the thatch of the workshop?' They said, 'We are the monks who attend the Perfectly Awakened Buddha Kashyapa. Because the rain-bringing deity first rained on the monastery of the Perfectly Awakened Buddha Kashyapa, we are dismantling this to cover it.' The two of them said, 'The matter of offering to you will come later. Noble ones, be quiet! Beautiful ones, be quiet!' Then those monks dismantled the workshop and covered my monastery with it. Then one day, the potter Gakyo came and saw that the thatch of the potter Gakyo's workshop had been dismantled. Having seen it, he said to his father and mother, 'Father and Mother, who dismantled this workshop?' The two of them said, 'After you went out from here, we heard the sound of dismantling the thatch of the workshop. Having heard it, we said, 'Who is this noble one? Who is this beautiful one? Who is dismantling the workshop?' They said, 'We are the monks who attend the Perfectly Awakened Buddha Kashyapa.

They dismantled that house of labor. Then the potter Nanda thought to himself: "The perfectly complete Buddha Kashyapa has become very intimate and familiar with my home, I have indeed obtained a great benefit!" From "thinking thus" to "seven days," it is the same as before. (This passage is repeated, referring to the Buddha staying in the potter's house for seven days.) Thus, by the Buddha's power of the Buddhas and the gods' power of the gods, not a single drop of rain fell on the house of labor, which was the summer residence of the parents of the potter Nanda. Great King, if you were to offer the perfectly complete Buddha Kashyapa robes, monastic garments, food, bedding, and medicine for three months, he would not accept them. Although your mind has changed, Nanda's mind has not changed even though he did not remove the roof of the house of labor. The monk potter Nanda has indeed obtained a great benefit! The Blessed One has become very intimate and familiar with his dwelling. Then, the perfectly complete Buddha Kashyapa rejoiced in the generosity of King Kiki with this rejoicing: "The best of offerings is the burnt offering, the best of comfort is the sun god, the best of humans is the king, the ocean is the best of rivers, the moon is the chief of the stars, the sun is the chief of those who illuminate, above, below, and in all directions, as many beings as there are, in the world including the gods, the best of speakers is the perfectly complete Buddha." Then, the perfectly complete Buddha Kashyapa taught King Kiki with words in accordance with the Dharma, caused him to understand correctly, praised him correctly, made him very happy, and then rose from his seat and departed. Not long after the Blessed One had departed, King Kiki said to a man: "Hey, inner minister, take about five hundred carts filled with ripe fruit, go to where the potter Nanda is, and when you arrive, say to him: 'Nanda, King Kiki sends you these five hundred carts filled with ripe fruit.'
