The begging Sangha was physically exhausted, (thinking) we invite Tsampa from the Blessed One and the Shravaka Sangha, for this, will you prepare Tsampa? Or invite the Bhikshu Sangha? He said: You go and invite the Bhikshu Sangha, I will prepare Tsampa. He then invited the Bhikshu Sangha. He also went to the market with a mirror, where he saw a merchant with long hair and beard. He showed him the mirror and said: Venerable, do you also have such wisdom? He said yes. If you have it, shave it off. He started shaving, and the householder was still sleeping, (the hair) was finished shaving before he woke up. He said: Venerable, is it finished shaving? The householder said it is finished shaving. He happily said: Venerable, I am especially happy, I will give you whatever you want. He said: I invite Tsampa from the Bhikshu Sangha including the Buddha, please give me Tsampa. He said: Venerable, like Tsampa, you can eat whatever you want, offer food, and then leave to invite (the Buddha and the Sangha). May you be free from illness, and then he left. After that, that householder started from a place called clean and offering, until "prepare seats for the Bhikshu Sangha's lunch, let them be seated", it was the same as before. Afterwards, when food and offerings were distributed, the Bhikshus thought: If we are invited to an evil person's house, how should we accept these offered foods? When they did not accept it, the Bhikshus prayed to the Blessed One, and the Blessed One instructed: If you are invited to an evil person's house and get offered food, you should enjoy it and don't regret it. The Blessed One thought: The fault that occurred was because the Bhikshus carried vessels that matched their caste. Therefore, a Bhikshu should not show his craft, nor should he discard the vessel that matches his caste. If discarded, it will be a serious crime. If he was a doctor before, he would discard the acupuncture instruments; if he was a scribe before, he would discard the ink and eraser; if he was an ordained craftsman, he would discard the needle and awl.

Apart from that. The Blessed One, traveling from the land of the giants to the land of sin, resided in the dense garden of worm lotuses in the land of sin. In the land of sin lived an elder named Light, who was the uncle of the Venerable Ananda and belonged to a large family in the land of giants. He was very unbelieving (in the Dharma). He heard that: (The Blessed One) traveled from the land of giants in the land of sin, came to the land of sin, and resided in the dense garden of worm lotuses in the land of sin. After hearing this, they began to discuss it. Wise ones, we have heard that (the Blessed One) traveled from the land of giants to the land of sin and resided in the dense garden of worm lotuses in the land of sin. If each of us were to offer food to the Buddha and the Sangha of monks, others would have no opportunity. Therefore, a rule should be established: None of us should offer food to the Buddha and the Sangha of monks alone, but only as a group. If any of us were to offer food alone, the Sangha would impose a fine of sixty karshapanas. Then, all the giants of the land of sin gathered together, came to where the Blessed One was, prostrated at the feet of the Blessed One, and sat to one side. As they sat to one side, the Blessed One instructed the giants of the land of sin with Dharma-related words, until they were completely delighted and remained silent, just as before. Then, the giants of the land of sin rose from their seats, draped their robes over one shoulder, folded their palms and bowed to the Blessed One, and said to the Blessed One: Blessed One, if the Blessed One, together with the Sangha of monks, would deign to accept the food (offered) in our homes, please allow it. The Blessed One remained silent to the giants of the land of sin, indicating permission. Then, the giants of the land of sin, knowing that the Blessed One's silence indicated permission, were very pleased with the Blessed One's acceptance, rejoiced and praised, prostrated at the feet of the Blessed One, and then from their seats
