Therefore, just as a tree is cut from its roots, they knelt on both knees and began to pray. By this root of virtue of our acting towards such a sublime field of merit, may we be born into a wealthy, rich, and prosperous lineage, and may the auspiciousness of gods and humans descend upon our home! May we also obtain such Dharma, and may we please the teacher who is superior to this, and may we not displease him. Having said this, the Pratyekabuddha, with compassion for them, performed miracles and flew away from above the city of Rajagriha. As his shadow fell upon the king, the king looked up. Seeing that great being, he thought: Who else's root of poverty will this great being uproot? That florist was a little late from the time when he usually offered flowers to the king. The king was also waiting for the flowers. Then, the florist was summoned by the king's jesters, and the king said to him: Why are you late in delivering the flowers today? Explain in detail what happened. Then, the king gave him many clothes as a reward. Similarly, the florist's wife was also given many clothes by the consorts. The florist's son was given gifts by the young men. The florist's daughter-in-law was given gifts by the king's consorts. In the very moment of seeing this, the flower of wealth manifested and matured, and they became free from poverty. Monks, what do you think? That florist at that time was none other than this wealthy man. The florist's wife is the wealthy man's wife. The florist's son is the wealthy man's son. The florist's daughter-in-law is the wealthy man's daughter-in-law. Because these people acted towards the Pratyekabuddha and prayed, by the ripening of that karma, they were born into a wealthy, rich, and prosperous lineage, and the auspiciousness of gods and humans descended upon their home.

Also, having seen the truth in the presence of the Blessed One, I have pleased these teachers who are superior to hundreds of thousands of millions of Buddhas, and it is not that I have not pleased them. O monks, therefore, from "for those whose karma is dark," one should strive to practice. O monks, you should train in such a way, as mentioned before. Then, the Brahmins and householders of Vaishali became even more manifestly faithful, rose from their seats, and, with their palms joined together, bowed to where the Blessed One was, and said to the Blessed One: "O Blessed One, if you would allow us to offer robes, alms, bedding, medicine for sickness, and provisions to the Sangha of monks for three months, that would be excellent." The Blessed One remained silent, thus granting permission to the Brahmins and householders of Vaishali. Then, the Brahmins and householders of Vaishali, knowing that the Blessed One had granted permission by remaining silent, bowed their heads to the feet of the Blessed One, rose from their seats, and departed. Then, from that very night, the Brahmins and householders of Vaishali prepared clean and blessed food and drink, as mentioned before, until they saw the Blessed One accepting the offerings and taking the alms bowl, and then they took a very low seat and sat before the Blessed One in order to listen to the Dharma. Then, the Blessed One taught the Brahmins and householders of Vaishali with words that were in accordance with the Dharma, causing them to understand correctly, to praise correctly, and to rejoice greatly, and then he rose from his seat and departed. In this way, two or three days passed. The Brahmins and householders of Vaishali, with their large retinue, encountered a time of famine, and their relatives came each day to beg for food, and they became troubled by them, and said to the monks: "O noble ones, a time of famine has come, and our relatives have gathered, and we give to them like a single umbrella, but if there is no distinction between you and them, then

Venerable ones, please manage (the food) only with poverty! The monks said, "It should be done after reporting to the Blessed One." The monks then reported to the Blessed One, and the Blessed One instructed, "Since this is the case, allow the monks to manage!" The Blessed One said, "The monks should manage the food." They began to manage, and when they managed to cook porridge in a place without cover, the sky rained heavily, causing the food to become unusable. Then they reported to the Blessed One, and the Blessed One instructed, "Do not cook food in a place without cover! Cook food in the gatehouse and corridor." The Blessed One instructed, "Do not cook food in the gatehouse and corridor! Monks, therefore, as the basis of a lawful place, there are these ten unlawful places. Do not manage food in these places. What are the ten? A place without cover, the gatehouse, the corridor, the heating place, the bathroom, the king's residence, the place of the stupa, the place of the heretics, the residence of the householder, and the summer residence of the nuns. These ten bases are the basis of unlawful places, therefore, monks should not manage food in these places! If you manage it, you will commit a serious crime." Summary: Food with kernels and clean food, borrowed dye residue, vegetable fruits and aquatic plants, lotus roots and mutton. The origin of the story is in Shravasti. In Shravasti, there was a monk with an internal disease who asked the doctor, "Virtuous one, please prescribe medicine for me!" The doctor asked about the root of the disease and said, "Venerable one, please drink porridge and you will recover." He said, "Virtuous one, the Blessed One has not allowed it." The doctor said, "Venerable one, your teacher is compassionate, and for this reason, there will be a situation where it will be allowed." He then told the monks. The monks reported to the Blessed One, and the Blessed One instructed, "If the doctor says to drink porridge, then you should drink porridge according to the doctor's instructions and do not regret it." The Blessed One's
