Page. My merit, which made me, adorned by doing merit. In ninety kalpas, I have revolved in gods and humans. Then, the remaining fruit of karma, my last body, in Campa, I was born as the only son of the श्रेष्ठ வணிக (Śreṣṭha vaṇik, श्रेष्ठ वणिक्, the best merchant). As soon as I was born, my father heard of it and was delighted, and I will give twenty kotis of wealth to the young man. The hair on the soles of my feet is very fine and soft, comfortable and smooth to the touch, and four fingers grow like cotton petals. For the past ninety kalpas, and for the remainder of this one, I have never placed my feet on the ground without a covering. I pleased this unsurpassed perfect Buddha, the leader. I have also attained the Arhat who has attained the coolness of Nirvana. By seeing everything, I was shown as the best of the diligent. I have attained the immovable state of no outflows and abandoning faults. The twenty kotis of elders, sitting in front of the Bhikshu Sangha, thus declared their own karma in the Anavatapta great dragon lake. The sixth chapter of Twenty Kotis is complete. Then, the elder Bhikshus said to the venerable Vagisvara: Venerable Vagisvara, the venerable Twenty Kotis has already declared the cause of his own karma, and the venerable one should also declare the cause of his own karma. He said: In the past ninety kalpas, adorned by doing merit, born in the gods and humans, I do not know the evil realms. I do not know good, only with the mutual moon-like appearance, seeing the stupa of the Wide-Eyed One, having seen it, at that time I made offerings. With sixty karshapanas (Kārṣāpaṇa, कार्षापण, an ancient Indian currency unit), I bought incense and garlands and applied them, and placed them on the stupa, and I did not fall into evil realms. Having done small good, I experienced much happiness. I have also attained the Arhat who has attained the coolness of Nirvana. If I knew the perfect Buddha, I would have made offerings to that stupa, and I would have done many good deeds. Thus, by knowing the many qualities of the perfect Buddha,

Revere the stupas and images, and they will turn into great fruits. The All-Seeing One has declared me the best of all, With eloquence in speech and virtue, And with skillful verses. Thus, the Elder Ngagwang, Sitting before the Sangha of monks, In the great Anavatapta Lake, Prophesied his own karma. Chapter Seven of Ngagwang. Then, the monks, the Elders, said to the Venerable Bharadvaja, the alms-gatherer, thus: "Venerable Bharadvaja, alms-gatherer, Venerable Ngagwang has already prophesied the cause of his karma. Venerable, please also prophesy the cause of your own karma." Then, the Venerable Bharadvaja, the alms-gatherer, said: "When I was the son of a merchant, Ruling in my father's house, I pleased my father, But acted improperly and disagreeably towards my mother. To my father, sisters, and brothers, As well as to servants and laborers, I satisfied them with food and drink, But I scolded my mother. Overwhelmed by stinginess, I did not give food to my mother, And angrily spoke these words: 'Eat stones for food!' Due to the ripening of that karma, I fell many times into the hells of extreme heat and black threads, And suffered countless miseries. Having died and transmigrated from those hells, When I obtained human existence, Due to the ripening of that karma, I became a stone-eater. In those births, again and again, I ate many stones, And likewise, due to the suffering of hunger and thirst, I met my death. My last birth Is this attainment of human existence, I pleased this guide, The perfect, complete, unsurpassed Buddha. In the teachings of Shakya Singha, Having obtained ordination, I also obtained the Arhatship, Which is cool and free from sorrow. The All-Seeing One has declared me the best of those who roar the lion's roar. I have abandoned all afflictions, And being free from afflictions, I am without defilements. Even now, monks, Even though I have attained such miraculous powers, The food in my bowl, Still turns into stones. Monks, the sins that I have committed, Are these that I remember, Because actions are not wasted."
