Even if it is not so, in the hell of black thread, I experience unbearable suffering. By the remaining fruit of that karma, in this last existence of mine, I am tormented by the ascetic practitioners of other heretics, like reeds being destroyed. I will die from that suffering, and thereafter, the remaining fruit of all karmas will also be finally exhausted. Therefore, one should have great faith in one's parents. By the cause of having faith in one's mind, sentient beings will go to a good path. Thus, the elder Sthavira born from the womb, in front of the Sangha of monks, at the great lake of Matroza, declared his own karma. The third chapter, Born from the Womb. Thereafter, the monks, the elders, said to the venerable Sudarshana: Venerable Sudarshana, the venerable Born from the Womb has already declared the cause of his own karma. Now, venerable Sudarshana, please also declare the cause of your own karma. Thereafter, the venerable Sudarshana, in front of the Sangha of monks, declared the cause of his own karma: In the Sangha's monastery, when I saw the broom of that courtyard, I took the broom, and at that time, I swept with joy. Thereafter, with faith in my mind, seeing that the courtyard was clean, I said, 'Just as that courtyard is clean, may I be without afflictions.' By that root of virtue, wherever I am born, my form is good, and pleasing to behold and beautiful. By the remaining fruit of that karma, in my last body, my parents named me only Sudarshana. Sudarshana, I was born, and whenever relatives and friends came before me, at that time, all the relatives rejoiced and respectfully honored me. I have pleased this unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightened leader. I have also attained the Arhat, who is cool with Nirvana. My aspiration, 'May I be without afflictions,' has been accomplished, and I am without afflictions. I am an Arhat without outflows. Even if one were to sweep the entire Jambudvipa with Kashi cloth, it would not be as good as sweeping one place where a hermit who is free from desire walks.

In a certain continent, a sage, having swept all the places he walked, he swept a small portion of the Sangha in the four directions. In Jambudvipa, having swept all the gardens of the Sangha, he swept one cubit of the Victorious Stupa. Having understood the differences he realized himself, having swept the Sugata Stupa, his mind also became extremely pure. Therefore, knowing the many qualities of the perfectly enlightened Buddha, respect the stupas, it will become a great fruit. The virtuous deed I, the venerable one, have done is remembering this matter, and by this result, I experience beautiful and desirable desires. Therefore, at the Victorious Stupa, make good offerings. This venerable one is a field of merit, supreme and unsurpassed. For the perfectly enlightened Tathagata, or the Shravakas of all Buddhas, if the mind is extremely pure, the merit will not be small. Thus, the elder with beauty, in front of the Bhikshu Sangha, in the great lake of Anavatapta, prophesied his own karma. The fourth chapter, the chapter of the beautiful one, is completed. Then, the Bhikshu elders said to the venerable Flower Garland: Venerable Flower Garland, the venerable Beautiful One has already prophesied the cause of his karma, now the venerable one should also prophesy the cause of his karma. Flower Garland with flowers as earrings, with a garland of flowers tied on his head, surrounded by courtesans, came to the place of the garden. There, I saw the Great Hero, the stupa of Vipashyin, all the great crowds were making offerings well. Then, leading the courtesans, each offering their own garlands, with a devout heart, to that stupa. At that time, I saw them and many other people, and took off the flowers from my earrings, and at that time offered them to the stupa. By this root of virtue, wherever I am born, I become a beautiful Deva or human being because of doing good deeds. I have pleased the perfectly enlightened unsurpassed guide,

At the time of extinguishing, I also attained the state of Arhat. Because I offered a single flower, for hundreds of millions of years, I enjoyed all the possessions of the gods. With its remainder, I entered Nirvana. Monks, if you wish to know the merits of the Buddha, you should serve the field of merit with great faith and reverence. Therefore, by knowing the many merits of the Perfect Buddha, you should respect the stupas, and you will receive great rewards. For the Perfect Buddha, the Tathagata, and the Shravaka disciples of the Buddhas, offering with great joy, the merit will not become small. Monks, the good deeds I have done are what I remember, and I have experienced beautiful fruits and satisfying desires. Due to the maturation of karma, until the end of life, with the cessation of afflictions and the attainment of peace, I became an Arhat and entered Nirvana. I no longer sleep in rebirth, nor do I sleep in any existence. My last life is this life, and I will no longer be born. It is for this very reason that I was named Lotus. I am liberated from all suffering and have crossed the ocean of existence. Thus, the Venerable Lotus, in front of the Sangha of monks, in the great Anavatapta Lake, told of his own karma. The Fifth Chapter of Lotus. Then, the monks, the Venerable Ones, said to the Venerable Twenty Billion: Venerable Twenty Billion, the Venerable Lotus has already told the cause of his karma. Venerable, now you also tell the cause of your karma. What karma did the Venerable Twenty Billion do, that the Blessed One praised him as the foremost of those who strive diligently? He said: In the scriptures of Vipashyi Buddha, in the friendly palace of the king, I built a dwelling for the Sangha of the four directions. I covered the foundation of that dwelling with fine cloths. With joy and happiness in my heart, at that time I made the vow, to please the Perfect Buddha, to obtain perfect discipline, to enter the most peaceful Nirvana, and to touch the state of no old age.
