I said. At that time, the lord of the Brahma world, by the power of his complexion, filled all the palaces with vast light. The great Brahmin Black-haired Youth, as the lower part of the night arrived, saw that all the palaces were filled with vast light. Having seen this, he then spoke in verse: Such a color as this, I have neither seen nor heard. Friend with a beautiful form and possessing color, who are you? Whether it be the Brahma retinue accompanied by gods, or other retinues, such a wise young one, Black-haired Youth, please know me. Brahma, I bow down to you, and also pay you homage, please listen to my words, please grant them to me quickly. The words spoken by you, Black-haired Youth, have been accepted. What is the meaning of this life, and what is the meaning of the next life? Those things that you think in your mind, Brahmin, please ask me. Those things that you ask, I will determine for you. Then, the great Brahmin Black-haired Youth thought to himself: For a while, I will obtain what can be obtained through the meaning of the Dharma that I have seen, and then I will ask starting from the meaning of the next life. So, he then spoke in verse: Doubts of two minds that hesitate in the mind, I ask the young one, the lord of all Brahmas: Where does one dwell, and what does one learn, to obtain the immortal Brahma world? The Brahmin abandons the conceit of 'I am among men,' becomes a solitary person, believes in compassion, is without defilement and free from attachment to sexual desire, dwells in this and learns this, and a person can obtain the immortal Brahma world. Then, the great Brahmin Black-haired Youth thought to himself: The Brahma said, 'The Brahmin abandons the conceit of 'I am among men,' I completely understand the meaning of this. The Brahma said, 'Becomes a solitary person, believes in compassion,' I also completely understand the meaning of this. The Brahma said, 'Is without defilement and free from attachment to sexual desire,' I do not understand the meaning of this.
