Those with malice, those who are deceitful, cunning, and harsh in speech, you, the Bhagavan, do not associate with them. Those who are upright and without deceit, who delight in truth, who have subdued their senses, and who always act after careful consideration, you, the Bhagavan, associate with them. I always pay homage to you, who know the Dharma, are skilled in worldly affairs, do not cause division among people, and manifest the six superknowledges. O Muni, you know the realms, you know what is superior and not superior, you know what is proper and improper, I bow to you with my head. Having seen well the vast ocean of your qualities, I intend to fully express one aspect of your qualities. O Noble One, there is no one among beings who can comprehend the other shore of the ocean of your qualities. Thus, having praised the Bhagavan with five hundred verses and having developed such great faith, the Bhagavan, as before, remained in his seat and taught the Dharma that leads to the vision of truth. Then, the Brahmin Sngor-gyur praised the Bhagavan and departed. As he was walking on the road, he was whipped by the Brahmins of Bhombarlaga until his skin was torn and bleeding. They said, 'Teacher, we told you not to respect the Shramana Gautama, but you did.' Are you now going back to praise him again? O wise ones, did I not say before that my tongue follows the truth? If there is something worthy of condemnation, I will condemn it; if there is something worthy of praise, I will praise it. The Shramana Gautama is worthy of praise, so I praised him.' Then, the Bhagavan, in the early morning, having put on his robes and carrying his bowl and Dharma garments, entered Bhombarlaga for alms. At that time, it was the night of the constellation in Bhombarlaga. Then, a goddess residing in Bhombarlaga thought, 'If the Shramana Gautama comes to Bhombarlaga, he will disrupt my night of the constellation.' So, she stood naked before the Bhagavan. The Bhagavan said, 'Goddess, even if a woman is well covered, it is not necessarily good, let alone being naked.' Then, the goddess felt ashamed and went to one side.

Then, the Blessed One turned aside from the road and sat down in the midst of the community of monks, on the seat that had been prepared. Having sat down, the Blessed One addressed the monks, saying: Monks, in a ruined place there are these five faults. Which five? Unevenness, being full of stumps and thorns, having many stones, gravel, and broken bricks, being eaten by crows, and having many women. Then, before departing, the Blessed One went to the place of the yaksha donkey in the ruined place. Having arrived, he surveyed the place of the yaksha donkey and entered under a tree to rest, for the sake of spending the day. At that time, the yaksha donkey wandered about in the form of a donkey, and boys and girls rode on it. It made them play and made them happy, and then it went into the dense forest and devoured them. Therefore, its name was known as yaksha donkey, yaksha donkey. The Brahmins and faithful householders of the ruined place heard that the Blessed One, when going for alms, was stopped by a goddess and did not go to the ruined place, but went to the place of the yaksha donkey. Having heard this, they cooked and prepared clean and delicious food in separate containers, loaded it onto carts, and went to where the Blessed One was. They bowed their heads at the feet of the Blessed One and sat down on one side. Having sat down on one side, the Blessed One addressed the Brahmins and faithful householders of the ruined place with talk that was in accordance with the Dharma, until he made them very happy and they remained silent, just as before. Then, the Brahmins and faithful householders rose from their seats, draped their upper garments over one shoulder, and, with their palms joined together, bowed towards where the Blessed One was. They said to the Blessed One: Venerable One, we have filled a cart with clean and delicious food for the sake of the Blessed One. Please, Blessed One, out of compassion, accept it. Then, the Blessed One said to the venerable Ananda: Ananda, go

In the place called Bumpo, gather all the monks who are near and dependent and dwell there in the place of offering. Let them fully enjoy the offerings. "Venerable, as you say." After the venerable Ananda heard the words of the Blessed One, in the place of the Yaksha Bumpo, all the monks who were near and dependent and dwelt there, gathered all the people in the place of offering to the place of offering, and then went to where the Blessed One was, bowed his head to the two feet of the Blessed One, and sat on one side. After sitting on one side, the venerable Ananda said to the Blessed One: Venerable, in the place of the Yaksha Bumpo, all the monks who are near and dependent have gathered in the place of offering. Blessed One, now is the time, please know. Then, the Blessed One went to the place of offering, and sat on the seat that had been prepared in the midst of the Sangha of monks. Then, the unrighteous Brahmins and the faithful householders, knowing that the Sangha of monks, including the Buddha, were seated in comfort, (omitting the middle part) until "holding the bowl with both hands," it was as before. In order to pray in front of the Blessed One, they sat down and said: Venerable, you, Blessed One, have subdued the evil dragons and the evil Yakshas, etc. Venerable, this Yaksha Bumpo, for a long time, provokes even without provocation, fights even without fighting, finds fault even without finding fault, and steals children who are born and unborn. Alas, Blessed One, please have compassion and subdue the Yaksha Bumpo. At that time, the Yaksha Bumpo and his retinue gathered and sat together. Then, the Blessed One said to the Yaksha Bumpo: Bumpo, did you hear? Blessed One, I heard. Bumpo, did you hear? Sugata, I heard. Turn away from non-dharma and evil! Blessed One, if I
