It is indeed the case that the attainment of Dharma is attainable by those with faith. It is not false, without fault, diligently practiced, and attainable by the wise; the principle that it is attainable by the wise exists. O Gautama, there are these four castes: the royal caste, the Brahmin caste, the Vaishya caste, and the Shudra caste. If they were to find the Tathagata, or a disciple of the Tathagata who imparts teachings, or subsequently reveals, or expounds the Dharma, they would possess the five main branches. If they were to abandon equally, would there be any difference, thought, or distinction between their liberation and liberation? Therefore, great king, I ask you, please answer truthfully according to your understanding. Great king, for example, a young Brahmin comes from the east, and someone says to him, 'Young man, come here, make a fire-starting base from dry sala wood, place a drill on top, and drill to produce fire for the purpose of making fire.' He makes a fire-starting base from dry sala wood, places a drill on top, and drills to produce fire for the purpose of making fire. A young Vaishya comes from the west, and someone says to him, 'Young Vaishya, come here, make a fire-starting base from dry fir wood, place a drill on top, and drill to produce fire for the purpose of making fire.' He makes a fire-starting base from dry fir wood, places a drill on top, and drills to produce fire for the purpose of making fire. A young Shudra comes from the north, and someone says to him, 'Hey! Young Shudra, come here, make a fire-starting base from dry sandalwood, place a drill on top, and drill to produce fire for the purpose of making fire.' He makes a fire-starting base from dry sandalwood, places a drill on top, and drills to produce fire for the purpose of making fire. If some of them were to gather it together and put it in a reed or a pile of straw, great king, what do you think? Is there any difference in the fire produced from various woods by people of different castes?

It is endowed with light, endowed with color, it is bright. Vinaya-vastu, Volume Thirty-three. This fire is not like that. This fire can perform the function of fire. Is there any difference, thought, or distinction in saying that this fire cannot? However, all those fires are endowed with light, endowed with color, and are bright, and all those fires can perform the function of fire. O Gautama, all those firewood are endowed with light, endowed with color, and are bright, and all those firewood can perform the function of firewood. Great King, similarly, the fire obtained by the diligent, rubbed by the chief, is like this: there is no difference, no thought, and no distinction between liberation and liberation. What the learned Gautama said is reasonable. For the sake of requesting a prophecy, if a door of opportunity is opened, learned one, I have some other aspects to ask you about. Great King, ask whatever you wish. O Gautama, are there gods? Great King, do you know which are the gods? Which gods have hatred, have rivalry, have harm, and will come or will come to be like this? Which gods have no hatred, no rivalry, no harm, and will not come or will not come to be like this? Those gods are staying there for a while. Which gods have hatred, have rivalry, have harm, and those gods who exist and will exist like this, their lifespan decreases, their merit decreases, and then they will die and transfer, then a god or a son of a god, can a god or a son of a god transfer from that place of death? Great King, those gods who have hatred, have rivalry, have harm, and will come or will come to be like this, are exhausted, their lifespan is exhausted, their merit is exhausted, and then they will die and transfer from that place, then a god or a son of a god, a god or a son of a god cannot transfer from that place of death. O Gautama, then can those gods who have hatred, have rivalry, have harm, and exist and will exist like this, cause the gods who have no harm to transfer from that place of death?
