Come to me and say this to the son of Auspicious Virtue, the Brahmin boy named True Victor: King Pasenadi of Kosala summons you. That man, hearing the words of King Pasenadi of Kosala, said: As the gods command. Then he went to where the son of Auspicious Virtue, the Brahmin boy named True Victor, was, and upon arriving, he said this to the son of Auspicious Virtue, the Brahmin boy named True Victor: King Pasenadi of Kosala summons you. Then, King Pasenadi of Kosala, realizing that the man had left not long ago, said this to the Blessed One: O Gautama, is there anyone here who understands and holds onto the meaning and words incorrectly? Great King, indeed there is. Because that meaning is only other, so he speaks to others that the meaning is only other. How does the wise Gautama think one should teach? Great King, I remember that I taught this: It is impossible, there is no opportunity, it does not exist, that other ascetics or Brahmins know or see everything. Wise Gautama, it is reasonable to say that. Wise Gautama, it is very reasonable to say that. For a moment, if an opportunity is opened for the sake of requesting a prophecy, then I have some other requests for the wise one. Great King, please say what you desire. O Gautama, there are these four castes, namely Brahmin, Kshatriya, Vaishya, and Shudra, is there any difference, thought, or distinction among them? Great King, indeed there is. Among them, the Brahmin caste and the Kshatriya caste are highly respected by the world. The Vaishya caste and the Shudra caste are regarded as low by the world. Wise Gautama, we are not requesting based on the meaning of this life, but based on the meaning of the future life. O Gautama, there are these four castes, namely Brahmin, Kshatriya, Vaishya, and Shudra, is there any difference, thought, or distinction among them? Great King

Venerable sir, these are the four castes: the Khattiya caste, the Brahmin caste, the Vessa caste, and the Sudda caste. If they were to obtain a Tathagata, or a disciple of the Tathagata who gives instruction, subsequently reveals, or teaches the Dharma, would there be any difference, any thought, or any distinction among them in the future life? Gotama, these are the four castes: the Khattiya caste, the Brahmin caste, the Vessa caste, and the Sudda caste. If they were to obtain a Tathagata, or a disciple of the Tathagata who gives instruction, subsequently reveals, or teaches the Dharma, would there be any difference, any thought, or any distinction among them in abandonment? Great King, these are the four castes: the Khattiya caste, the Brahmin caste, the Vessa caste, and the Sudda caste. If they were to obtain a Tathagata, or a disciple of the Tathagata who gives instruction, subsequently reveals, or teaches the Dharma, would there be any difference, any thought, or any distinction among them in abandonment? Therefore, Great King, I ask you. Answer as you see fit. Great King, for example, here there are four trainers, namely, an elephant trainer, a horse trainer, a bull trainer, or a human trainer. Of these, two trainers are untamed, completely untamed, while two are very tamed, completely very tamed. Great King, what do you think? Would those two untamed, completely untamed trainers, for a while, go to the place of the tamed as untamed, or accept the part of the tamed as completely untamed? No, Gotama. In any case, would those two very tamed and completely very tamed trainers go to the place of the tamed with very tamed, or accept the part of the tamed with completely very tamed? Yes, Gotama, that is so. Great King, similarly, that place which is to be attained by one with faith, cannot be attained by one without faith, that is impossible. That which is to be attained by one without deceit, without fault, having initiated effort, and having wisdom, cannot be attained by one with corrupt wisdom, that is impossible. That which is to be attained by one with faith.
