It was heard that he was staying at the stupa with sons. It was heard that the Brahmins and householders of the village of Marubujan revered him. Having heard this, they rode in chariots drawn by mares, all white, carrying golden pitchers and bowls filled with food, surrounded by a crowd of Brahmin children. The Brahmin children led the way, coming from the village of Marubujan, to see and serve the Blessed One. They rode as far as the ground allowed, then dismounted and entered the Jetavana on foot, going to where the Blessed One was. Having arrived, they exchanged various pleasant and satisfying words with the Blessed One, and then sat down on one side. Having sat down on one side, the Blessed One instructed, praised, guided, and encouraged the Brahmin Yaja, who belonged to the great figures of Magadha, with words in accordance with the Dharma. In many ways, he taught, guided, praised, and encouraged with words in accordance with the Dharma, and then remained silent. Then, the Brahmin Yaja, who belonged to the great figures of Magadha, rose from his seat, draped his upper garment over one shoulder, and, with his palms joined in reverence, said to the Blessed One: "Blessed One Gautama, if you would be pleased to accept my invitation to a meal tomorrow at my home, together with the community of monks, it would be most gracious." The Blessed One remained silent to the Brahmin Yaja, who belonged to the great figures of Magadha, thus indicating his acceptance. Then, the Brahmin Yaja, who belonged to the great figures of Magadha, realizing that the Blessed One's silence was an acceptance, departed from the presence of the Blessed One. Then, the Blessed One, not long after the Brahmin Yaja, who belonged to the great figures of Magadha, had left, understood in his heart and went to his dwelling place. Having arrived at the dwelling place, he washed his feet outside the dwelling and entered the dwelling, sitting on the seat that had been prepared.

Having arranged the cross-legged posture, he straightened his body and placed his mind focused on manifestation. The Blessed One, residing in his dwelling, abiding in the state of daytime, with his pure divine eye, surpassing human deeds, saw that in the village of Red Child City, powerful gods were moving the land of their dwellings. Having seen this, he arose from his meditation and came out of his dwelling. In the shadow of the dwelling, he sat down on the seat prepared for the midday meal of the community of monks. Having sat down, the Blessed One spoke to the venerable Ananda: "Ananda, have you heard who is striving to build the city of the village of Red Child City?" "Venerable, I have heard that it is the Brahmin Vassakara, belonging to the great lineage of Magadha." "Ananda, well done! Well done! The Brahmin Vassakara, belonging to the great lineage of Magadha, is wise, just as if he had consulted with the gods of the Thirty-Three. Ananda, here I am, residing in my dwelling, abiding in the state of daytime, with my pure divine eye, surpassing human deeds, saw that in the village of Red Child City, powerful gods were moving the land of their dwellings. Ananda, in whatever direction the powerful gods have moved the land of their dwellings, in that direction, for the sake of dwellings, the minds of powerful people will be inclined. In whatever direction the intermediate and ordinary gods have moved the land of their dwellings, in that direction, for the sake of dwellings, the minds of intermediate and ordinary people will be inclined. Ananda, in this direction, the powerful gods have moved the dwellings, so in this direction, for the sake of dwellings, the minds of powerful and renowned people will be inclined. Ananda, among all noble dwellings and noble names, and among merchants, this city of Red Child City will be the most excellent. Ananda, it should be known that three obstacles will arise here: fire, water, and internal strife. Then, the Brahmin Vassakara, belonging to the great lineage of Magadha, from that very night, from a place called Clean and Merit, folded his hands and raised his bowl.

From... as before. Holding a golden bird-shaped water pot, he prays and stands before the Buddha. He also prays thus: 'Homage to Gautama, may the cause of merit, the cause of virtue, and the basis of happiness arising from this offering, be dedicated for the long-term benefit, welfare, and happiness of the gods residing in Damarabujanā.' Then, the Blessed One spoke in verse: 'The faithful man who worships the gods, acting according to the teacher's instructions, is praised by all the Buddhas.' 'The wise, with a disciplined mind, wherever they dwell, after offering food to the virtuous, should make dedication beneath them.' 'They are remembered by remembrance, and worshipped by worship.' 'Just as a mother cherishes the child born from her womb, the gods are loving beings, and will see good and excellent happiness.' Then, the Blessed One spoke to the Brahmin Yajñaka, belonging to the great lineage of Magadha, about Dharma-related topics, causing him to truly receive, truly praise, and truly rejoice, and then rose from his seat and departed. Then, the Brahmin Yajñaka, belonging to the great lineage of Magadha, gave away all the remaining wealth, and followed behind the Blessed One, thinking in his mind: 'From which gate did the Blessed One Gautama exit the city of Damarabujanā? I will call it the Gate of Gautama.' 'From which crossing of the Ganges River did he cross? I will also call it the Crossing of Gautama.' Then, the Blessed One, knowing the thoughts of the Brahmin Yajñaka belonging to the great lineage of Magadha, went from the central street of Damarabujanā to the north, crossing the Ganges River at a certain place. Then, Ajatashatru, the son of Vaidehi, the king of Magadha, thought: 'I should be more enthusiastic than others in making offerings to the Blessed One.' After thinking thus, he held five hundred hundred-spoked umbrellas over the head of the Blessed One.
