另一次，国王需要某种东西，于是召集了商人们并吩咐道：有见识的人们，我需要某某东西，请把它献给我。他们回答说：神在刚波那里有。国王说：我不会命令他，你们从他那里买来献给我吧。他们派使者到刚波那里说：商人们要召见你。刚波说：我不去。之后，所有商人们聚集到他家门口，坐在门外给他送信说：刚波，商人们在门口等你，请出来一下。他带着傲慢和与生俱来的蛮横出来了。商人们说：船长，像你买来时一样把货物给我们吧。他说：如果像我买来时一样给你们货物，那我岂不是成了大商人？他们说：给你双倍的价钱，商人们会供养你的。刚波心想：商人们是应该供养的。于是，他给了他们一亿五千万的双倍价钱。剩下的他藏在家里，心想：难道水滴能装满瓶子吗？我要进入大海。为了进入大海，他让像索拉玛一样的城市里的人们都听到宣告：有见识的，住在像索拉玛一样的城市里的商人们听着，船长刚波要进入大海了。你们之中，谁愿意和船长刚波一起，没有赌债，没有雇佣的劳工，没有船的抵押，一起进入大海的，就准备好去大海的货物吧。大约五百个商人准备好了去大海的货物。之后，船长刚波做了吉祥、顺利、安康的事情，带着五百个随从商人进入大海。大船完成后，又返回了像索拉玛一样的城市。像这样，他六次进入大海，大船完成后又返回了。刚波总共六次进入大海，大船完成后又返回了。

On another occasion, the king needed something, so he summoned the merchants and commanded: "Wise ones, I need such-and-such a thing, please offer it to me." They replied: "The god Gangpo has it." The king said: "I will not command him, you buy it from him and offer it to me." They sent a messenger to Gangpo saying: "The merchants are summoning you." Gangpo said: "I will not come." Then, all the merchants gathered at his door, sat outside, and sent him a message saying: "Gangpo, the merchants are waiting for you at the door, please come out." He came out with arrogance and innate insolence. The merchants said: "Captain, give us the goods as you bought them." He said: "If I give you the goods as I bought them, wouldn't I become a great merchant?" They said: "We will give you double the price, and the merchants will make offerings to you." Gangpo thought: "The merchants should be offered to." So, he gave them double the price of one hundred and fifty million. He hid the rest at home, thinking: "Can a drop of water fill a bottle? I must enter the great ocean." In order to enter the great ocean, he had an announcement made in the city like Solama: "Wise ones, merchants living in the city like Solama, listen, Captain Gangpo is about to enter the great ocean. Those of you who are willing to go with Captain Gangpo, without gambling debts, without hired laborers, without ship mortgages, prepare the goods to go to the great ocean." About five hundred merchants prepared the goods to go to the great ocean. Then, Captain Gangpo did auspicious, prosperous, and peaceful things, and entered the great ocean with five hundred accompanying merchants. After the great ship was completed, it returned to the city like Solama. In this way, he entered the great ocean six times, and after the great ship was completed, it returned again. In all directions, Gangpo entered the great ocean six times, and after the great ship was completed, it returned again.

When the sound of "tu" was heard, the merchants of Shravasti, carrying goods, entered as if entering the city of Sloma. They rested from the fatigue of the journey. They went to where the captain Gambo was, and upon arriving, said: Captain, it is time to go to the great ocean. He said: Wise ones, have you ever seen or heard of the great ship being built from the great ocean six times, and returning, and you are entering for the seventh time? They said: Gambo, we have come from a distant place for you, and if you do not let us enter, you are reliable. He thought: I do not lack any wealth, I should set out for the sake of these people. So, he set out to the great ocean together with them. At dawn, they especially recited, 08A the passage to the other shore, the seeing of truth, the verses of the steadfast one, the verses of the steadfast woman, the verses of the mountain dweller, the verses of the capable one, and the secret praises of the Sutras of the Collection of Meanings. Hearing this, he said: Wise ones, sing a good song. They said: Captain, those are not songs. Then what are they? Those are the teachings of the Buddha. Hearing the sound of "Buddha," which he had never heard before, all the pores of his body stood on end, and with reverence he asked: Wise ones, who is this Buddha? They said: The son of the Shakya clan, the monk Gautama, who renounced from the Shakya clan, shaved his hair and beard, wore robes of ochre color, and perfectly correctly, first renounced from home to homelessness, and then attained the unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment, that captain is called Buddha. Wise ones, where is the Blessed One now residing? Captain, he is in Shravasti, in the Jeta Grove of Prince Jeta, in the Anathapindika's Garden. He kept these words in his heart, and together with them entered the great ocean, and after the great ship was built, they returned. His elder brother, Dhanamitra, thought, this person often goes to the great ocean, he must be tired, he should be made to settle down.
