Having settled there, the Blessed One and the Venerable Grains-Born-Ear-Tuft Mountain spent that night in the silence of the noble ones. Then, as dawn approached, the Blessed One said to the Venerable Grains-Born-Ear-Tuft Mountain: "Grains-Born, abandon the Dharma that I have spoken after realizing and awakening to it." Then, as the Blessed One opened the occasion, Grains-Born-Ear-Tuft Mountain, with the accent of the border region called Stone City, especially uttered the sound of the end, the Gone Beyond, the Seeing of Truth, the verses of the Mountain Dweller, the verses of the Father, the verses of the Elder, the verses of the Elder Nun, and the secret praises of the Sutras of the Collection of Meanings. Then, the Blessed One, knowing that the utterance of Grains-Born-Ear-Tuft Mountain was complete, said to the Venerable Grains-Born-Ear-Tuft Mountain: "Grains-Born, it is good that you have proclaimed the Dharma, which is rich and pleasing, that I have spoken after realizing and awakening to it." Then, the Venerable Grains-Born-Ear-Tuft Mountain thought to himself: "Now is the time for me to speak to the Blessed One about the message of my preceptor." Thinking thus, he rose from his seat, arranged his upper robe over one shoulder, and, bowing with his palms joined together towards the Blessed One, he said to the Blessed One: "Venerable One, in the border region of the place called Stone City, in the village called End-Dwelling, there is the Venerable Great Katyayana, who is my preceptor. He also prostrates at the feet of the Blessed One and asks: 'Is there little harm? Is there little distress? Is there lightness of movement? Is he alive? Without lack of strength, comfort, and decline, does he live in ease?'" "Grains-Born, may the Bhikshu Katyayana be well. The five requests should also be spoken in detail." Then, the Blessed One said to Grains-Born-Ear-Tuft Mountain: "Grains-Born, for the time being, the time has not yet come for me to prophesy this request, so make the request in the Sangha, and there your request will be

The time for dwelling has arrived. Then, the Blessed One arose early in the morning and sat down in the midst of the community of monks on the seat that had been prepared. Then, from the venerable Katyayana onwards, to "dwelling in one direction." The venerable Katyayana addressed the Blessed One, saying: "Venerable One, in the border region called Stone Staff, in the village called Dwelling Place, there is the great venerable Katyayana, who is my preceptor. He, from the feet of the Blessed One, to enjoying bliss. The five requests, as mentioned above, up to the statement of confessing offenses, were also reported in detail." The Blessed One said: "Therefore, it is permitted that in remote areas, those who uphold the Vinaya may receive full ordination with a group of five, and always bathe, and wear single-layered shoes, not double-layered, nor triple-layered. If they are damaged, they may be repaired with patches and worn. Leather may be worn. If a monk gives a Dharma robe to a monk, if it is abandoned from this side and does not reach the other side, it will not constitute any offense requiring confession." The venerable Ananda asked the Blessed One: "Venerable One, what you said about those who uphold the Vinaya in remote areas receiving full ordination with a group of five, what is the center? And what is the border region?" Ananda, in the east there is a village called Likha Tree Growth, and to the east of that village there is a garden called Likha Thicket, that is the center. From then on, it is the border region. In the south there is a village called Reeds, and across from that village there is a river called Reeds, that is the center. From then on, it is the border region. In the west there is a Brahmin village, with pillars and nearby pillars, that is the center. From then on, it is the border region. In the north there is a mountain called Ushira Mountain, that is the center. From then on, it is the border region. The monks arose with doubts, and in order to dispel all doubts, they asked the Buddha, the Blessed One. Venerable One, what did the venerable Katyayana do

Being rich due to the maturation of karma, he was born into a family with abundant wealth and great enjoyment, wearing earrings adorned with precious jewels on his ears. Having seen the evil destinies, he renounced in the Buddha's teachings, abandoned all defilements, and directly realized the state of an Arhat. The Blessed One said: Monks, just like the ear of grain born from the ear mountain, in other previous lifetimes, from "called sentient beings" to "become fruit," it is as mentioned above. Monks, in the past, when the lifespan of beings was twenty thousand years, in the city of Varanasi, a teacher named Light Protector appeared, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the perfectly enlightened Buddha, from "named and widely known in the world" to "appeared in the world." In the city of Varanasi, there was a couple who received refuge and precepts from the perfectly enlightened Buddha Light Protector. When the perfectly enlightened Buddha Light Protector completed all the deeds of a Buddha and entered the realm of Nirvana without remainder, King Kiki had a stupa built with four kinds of precious jewels, encircling one yojana around and half a yojana in height. To repair that damaged stupa, he dedicated all the taxes collected from the eastern gate of the city to that stupa. When King Kiki passed away and his son Well-Born was placed on the throne, the ministers only submitted a small amount of taxes. He said to the ministers: Why have you only submitted so little tax to me? Does my country not have taxes? They said: O King, there are more taxes than that. O King, the taxes collected from the eastern gate of the city are all used to repair the damaged stupa built by the former king. If the King allows, we will intercept those taxes. He said: Wise ones, what my father did was done by Brahma, it was done by Indra. They thought: If the King allows
