She smelled the odor and came, saying, 'Rice-ear Born, didn't I stop you? Why give to these people? Is your compassion greater than my compassion?' He said, 'Sister, what are these people to you?' She said, 'This is my household, this is my son, this is my daughter-in-law, this is my maidservant.' Which of you was born here because of what? Rice-ear Born, the people of Jambudvipa are difficult to believe, so they do not believe. 'Sister, how can I not believe when I have seen it with my own eyes?' He said, 'Rice-ear Born, when I became a Brahmin woman in a village called Residence, on the night when the stars fell, I prepared food and alms. The venerable Mahā-Kātyāyana, out of compassion for me, went to the village of Residence to beg for alms, and came to my house in turn. I saw his body was dignified and my heart was filled with joy. After seeing him, I became very devout, and faith arose in that person, and I offered alms, and I thought in my heart, 'If I let my family rejoice in the alms, I would be even happier.' So he came after bathing, and I said to him, 'Son of the king, venerable Mahā-Kātyāyana, I have already offered alms, please rejoice in the alms!' He said angrily, 'Before giving to the Brahmins, before serving the relatives, how can you give the essence of alms to that shaven-headed ascetic?' He became unbearable and said, 'Why doesn't that shaven-headed ascetic eat chaff?' Because of that ripening, he began to eat chaff. I thought in my heart, the family did not rejoice in the alms.

The son again angrily said: "As long as the Brahmins give way, you actually gave the essence of alms to that bald-headed Shramana?" He couldn't bear it and said: "Why doesn't that bald-headed Shramana eat iron pellets?" Due to the maturation of that karma, he became someone who eats iron pellets. When the wheat ripened, on the night when the stars descended, relatives sent her some borrowed items, and she handed those borrowed items to the bride. The bride ate the good borrowed items and gave the bad ones to her. She said to those relatives: "Are you having a bad harvest year? You sent such bad borrowed items." They said to her: "We didn't send bad borrowed items, but we sent good borrowed items." A messenger came, and she said to the bride: "Bride, you ate the good borrowed items, didn't you give the bad ones to me?" The bride said: "Your borrowed food, why shouldn't I eat my own flesh?" Due to the maturation of that karma, she became someone who eats her own flesh. On the night when the stars descended, she handed some good borrowed items to a maid, and had her send them to relatives and friends.
