Thus, Good-face, the fruition of this is displeasing, therefore abandon non-holy Dharma sins. Having said this, but I did not abandon it, he said to me: Good-face, do you kill sheep during the day or at night? I said: Holy one, during the day. He said: Why do you not uphold pure precepts at night? Having said this, because I did not take up pure precepts at night and upheld them, by the ripening fruit of that action, I experience such happiness at night. Furthermore, killing sheep during the day, by the ripening of that action, I experience such suffering during the day. Verse: During the day, killing the lives of others, at night possessing the qualities of precepts, the good result and sins of that action, this is what is experienced. Grain-born, are you going to the village where you live? There your father sees my son the butcher, there he says, the ripening of the fruit of this action is displeasing, therefore abandon non-holy Dharma sins, and so on. Speak like that. Alas! Inner Lord, you said to me, the people of Jambudvipa are difficult to believe, therefore they will not believe. Grain-born, if they do not believe, tell your father there that under the place where he was killed by the sword, there is a full vase of gold dust placed, dig it out, and satisfy yourself with happiness for a long time, and offer alms to the great noble Katyayana from time to time, take it out in our names, and dedicate it, then that action will be reduced, completely exhausted, and touched. Speak like that. After he left, after some time at sunrise, he saw another immeasurable palace, in which there was a goddess with a beautiful form, beautiful, pleasing to see, and a man with a beautiful form, beautiful, pleasing to see, adorned with armlets and earrings, bracelets and perfumes, and various garlands, and there they played together, rejoiced, and enjoyed happiness. Having seen him from afar, they each began to speak: Grain-born, welcome! Do not...

Are you hungry? Or not? He thought, 'Could it be a god, a naga, or a yaksha who doesn't eat? I am thirsty! I am hungry!' They bathed him and gave him food. He stayed in that immeasurable palace until sunset. They said to him, 'Gro bzhin skyes, come here, you will see the bad consequences.' He saw the bad consequences and stayed alone on one side. After that, when the sun set, that immeasurable palace also disappeared, and the goddess also disappeared. A huge rakshasa appeared, wrapping the man's body seven times with its own body, and then rising into the air. It kept eating his brains until sunrise. Vinaya-vastu, Volume Twenty-one. After that, the immeasurable palace appeared again. The goddess also appeared again, and together with that handsome, beautiful, pleasing man, adorned with armlets, earrings, bracelets, perfumes, and various garlands, they played, laughed, and enjoyed themselves. He went to them and said, 'Wise ones, who are you? What karma caused you to be born here? Gro bzhin skyes, the people of Jambudvipa are hard to believe, so I don't believe it.' He said, 'If I see it with my own eyes, how can I not believe it?' They said, 'In the city where I lived, I was a Brahmin. Because of begging, the great Venerable Katyayana came to me out of compassion and said, 'O handsome one, the result of this action is unpleasant, abandon the sinful non-dharma!' Although he said this, I did not abandon it. In order to make me abandon it, he said again and again, 'O handsome one, the result of this action is unpleasant, abandon the sinful non-dharma!' But I still did not abandon it.' He said, 'O handsome one, do you beg during the day or at night?' I said to him, 'Venerable one, it is at night.' He said, 'O handsome one, why do you not keep pure precepts during the day, so that the karma can be lessened and completely eliminated?'

It will be completely exhausted (referring to bad karma). After saying that, from then on, I carefully observed the precepts during the day. Whoever carefully observes the precepts during the day, the ripening of that karma will cause them to experience happiness like this during the day. Whoever goes to steal at night, the ripening of that karma will cause them to experience suffering like this at night. He also spoke in verse: At night, indulging in stealing, during the day, possessing the qualities of precepts, the good fruits and sins of that karma are being experienced. Grain-dweller, are you going to the city where you live? There your father saw my son, the Brahmin, stealing. There he said, the ripening of this karma is unpleasant, abandon the non-righteous Dharma, sin. Please say this. He said: Alas, Inner Lord, you say that the people of Jambudvipa are difficult to believe, so they will not believe. Grain-dweller, if he does not believe, then your father should say to him, under the stove there is a vase full of gold dust, take it out, and let yourself be satisfied with happiness for a long time, and from time to time offer alms to the great venerable Katyayana, and dedicate the offerings in our name. In this way, that karma will be reduced, completely exhausted, and exhausted. Please say this. After he left, after a while, he saw another immeasurable palace. There was a woman who was beautiful, pretty, and pleasing to look at, adorned with armlets, earrings, rings, unguents, and various garlands, and four hungry ghosts were tied to the four legs of her throne. She saw him from afar and said: Grain-dweller, welcome! Welcome! Are you not thirsty? Are you not hungry? He thought: Could this be a non-flesh-eating goddess, a dragon girl, or a yaksha woman? So he said: I am thirsty! I am hungry! She had him bathe and gave him food, and said to him: Grain-dweller, if you ask these fellows for a little something, don't give it to them. Having said that, she wanted to openly claim the karma of those beings as her own.
