Then, (they) thought the leader was cold and ruthless. The caretaker said: My wisdom has grown, the servants think the leader is cold and ruthless. Wise ones, it is not good for us to abandon the leader and run away, let's go back, come back! They said: Wise ones, if we go back, everything will become unreasonable, we will suffer, come back! Let's make an internal rule for the time being, before our goods are unloaded, no one should say anything to the parents of Wheat-born Ears Like Scattered Sand Mountain (གྲོ་བཞིན་སྐྱེས་རྣ་བ་བྱེ་བ་རི།) for the time being. After they made these internal rules, they left. The parents of Wheat-born Ears Like Scattered Sand Mountain (གྲོ་བཞིན་སྐྱེས་རྣ་བ་བྱེ་བ་རི།) heard that Wheat-born Ears Like Scattered Sand Mountain (གྲོ་བཞིན་སྐྱེས་རྣ་བ་བྱེ་བ་རི།) was coming, so they went to meet him, (and asked:) Which leader left first? They left first, (the parents) asked: Which leader? (They) replied: He is coming from behind. Walking behind, (the parents) asked: Which leader? (They) replied: He is walking in the middle, so they made them dizzy until the goods were unloaded. After that (they) said: Father, mother, we have forgotten the leader. A person came to the two of them and said: Father, mother, Wheat-born Ears Like Scattered Sand Mountain (གྲོ་བཞིན་སྐྱེས་རྣ་བ་བྱེ་བ་རི།) has arrived. They gave the person a reward, went to meet him, but did not see him. Another person came and said: Father, mother, Wheat-born Ears Like Scattered Sand Mountain (གྲོ་བཞིན་སྐྱེས་རྣ་བ་བྱེ་བ་རི།) has arrived. They gave the person a reward, went to meet him, but did not see him, so they did not trust anyone like that. The two of them offered umbrellas, bells, and whisks in the garden, temple, and assembly hall, and if Wheat-born Ears Like Scattered Sand Mountain (གྲོ་བཞིན་སྐྱེས་རྣ་བ་བྱེ་བ་རི།) is still alive, come back quickly, or come to La Gor (ལ་གོར།)! If he has passed away, may he be reborn in a special place of going, they wrote the letter like this. The two of them fell into sadness and despair. When the sun rose, they were irradiated by the sunlight, and the next day they did not see any merchants there except for two donkeys. The person tied the two donkeys together and drove them away. Because the wind was blowing and the road was covered with sand, the donkeys, because they had memories, sniffed the road with their noses and walked slowly, and the person whipped and drove them with a thorny whip.

The two of them, having lost their memory, went to a temple of Sal trees. The two of them were dying of thirst, their tongues hanging out, and they were confused with each other. He saw them, and compassion arose. He thought, "If I don't leave, I will suffer irrational pain with them." So he abandoned them and went on foot. After he had gone some distance, he saw a tall and wide iron city, and at the gate of the city stood a man who was black and large, with red eyes, his penis erect, and holding a stick in his hand. He went to the man and asked, "Hey, sir, is there water here?" The man did not say a word. He asked again, "Hey, sir, is there water here?" However, the man still did not speak. He went inside and made the sound of "water, water," and then, a preta (hungry ghost) whose body was like a tree trunk that had been burned, like a pile of bones, covered with his own hair, his belly like a valley, surrounded by hundreds and thousands of mouths that were only the size of the eye of a needle, and growing grass-like things. O compassionate one, please give us thirsty ones some water!" He said, "O wise ones, I myself am looking for water, how can I give you water?" Those people said, "O you who have grass-like things growing, where is there water in this city of pretas? We have heard the name 'water, water' for twelve years now! O wise ones, who are you, and from where have you come here? O you who have grass-like things growing, the people of Jambudvipa (the southern continent) are difficult to believe, so they do not believe! O wise ones, if I see it with my own eyes, how can I not believe it?" They said in verses: We are harsh in speech and full of anger, we are stingy and miserly, we have not given even a little charity, therefore we have fallen into the world of pretas. O you who have grass-like things growing, you have great power of merit, go away! Having entered the city of pretas, have you seen any living person go in and come out? He went away. After he had gone some distance, he saw that man, and that man said to him, "Alas, good person, you say to me like this: This is the city of pretas! Having said that, I cannot enter there." He said, "O you who have grass-like things growing, you have great power of merit.
