He saw that girl. Neuldangga said: Friend, didn't you greet that house? He said: Yes, I greeted them. He said: Friend, this house is frivolous, don't go in. Improper conduct will bring suffering, so he kept him tied with a rope during the day and took him to his father, saying: Father, your son greeted such and such a house. I watched him with a rope during the day. Now you watch him at night. That house is frivolous, don't let him in. Improper conduct will bring suffering. He said: Son, you have accused me, you have done well. He settled the boy in the room, placed two spittoons, water, and earth, and locked him in the room, and went to sleep after locking the door himself. He said: Father, open the door. Son, why? I need to urinate. He said: Son, I have put a spittoon here, urinate here. After a while, he said: Father, open the door. Son, why? I need to defecate. He said: Son, I have put a spittoon, water, and earth here, defecate here. After a while, he said: Father, open the door. He said: Son, don't I know where you want to go? I cannot open the door. Father, I will kill you. He said: Son, it is better for me to die, I cannot bear to see my son die. Attachment is evil.

She thought: This person does not understand merit and actually kills his father, if he ever becomes angry with me, what will become of me? So she said: Prince, please go up to the roof above me and rest for a while until I return. He said: Then do so. He climbed onto the roof and shouted: Robber! Robber! He was frightened and ran away, returned to his own house, put the sword at the door, and shouted: That robber is this person, he killed my father and ran away. Then, he respectfully handled his father's corpse and left. That being who had committed the evil deed, because he could not find peace, went to the places of the non-Buddhists and the forests of asceticism, and asked: Learned ones, what should I do to exhaust the evil deeds? Some said: Jump into the fire. Some said: Eat poison. Some said: Jump off a cliff. Some said: Jump into the water. Some said: Hang yourself with a rope. All of them taught him the methods of death, but no one taught him the methods of liberation. At another time, he went to the Jetavana Grove. There, he heard a monk reciting: Whoever has committed evil deeds can prevent it with good deeds, just as the sun and moon emerge from the clouds, it will appear in this world. He thought: Evil deeds can also be prevented, I should become ordained among these people. So he went to the monk and said: Venerable one, I wish to become ordained.

Then, the monks said to him: Venerable one, what purpose do you seek with this diligence? He said: I will exhaust sinful deeds. What sinful deeds have you done? Did you kill your father? Was it your own father? Or was it a stepfather? He said: It was a stepfather. When he said, "It was a stepfather," the monks reported this matter to the Blessed One. Then, the Blessed One said to the monks: Monks, this person is worthy of being expelled as a patricide. Monks, a patricide is not of the nature to be born into this Dharma and Vinaya, so monks, you should expel the patricide from this Dharma and Vinaya. If someone comes wanting to be ordained, you should ask him if he has killed his father. If you ordain him without asking, it will become a serious offense. He thought: What should I do? Should I leave? Or should I go to a border region? Thinking this, he went to a border region and followed a householder. He first had a monastery built for him, and monks from different regions and countries resided there, and many attained Arhatship through his teachings. At another time, he became ill, and although he was treated with medicines from roots, stems, leaves, flowers, and fruits, he became weak. He said to those who lived with him: Venerable ones, build a warm room for the Sangha for my sake. So they built a warm room for him. All that is accumulated will eventually be exhausted, all that is high will eventually fall, all that meets will eventually separate, and all that lives will eventually die. Because it was said thus, he died, and when the time came, he was born in the great hell of Avici. An Arhat who lived with him thought: Where has my preceptor been reborn?
