The noble one, he defeats some opponents and makes them harness the chariot of debate. Some are struck on the head with pots of ashes. Some are completely banished from afar to the dung heap of donkeys like crows. Some are greeted with umbrellas, victory banners, and flags. Some acknowledge themselves as disciples, and eventually subdue opponents in villages, cities, towns, markets, and trade centers, and then go to Rājagṛha. That Brahmin thought: Why should I abandon the root and dabble in branches, petals, and leaves? All those opponents, and those who are counted as wise, are close to the king. I too will go to the king. Thinking this, that Brahmin went to where King Rūpakāya (Gzugs can snying po) was, and having arrived, greeted King Rūpakāya and exchanged greetings, and then sat to one side. Having sat to one side, he said to King Rūpakāya: O God, I have learned a few letters from the teacher. Therefore, I would like to determine the content of the discussion with the opponents in the presence of the God. The king said to the ministers: Wise ones, is there anyone in my country who can determine the content of the discussion with this Brahmin? The ministers said: O God, in the city, there is a Brahmin named Nivāsaputra (Gnas len gyi bu), who is versed in the Vedas and the branches of the Vedas, clarifies his own speech with fire-like wisdom, and defeats the speech of others like a stone. He has mastered the treatise called Nivāsaputra (Gnas len gyi bu). Please summon the Khenpo Nivāsaputra. They will inform the God. So they summoned him, and he went to where King Rūpakāya was, and having arrived, greeted King Rūpakāya and exchanged greetings, and then sat to one side. The ministers said: O God, this is the Khenpo. The king treated him with words of "Welcome," and said: Khenpo, can you determine the content of the discussion with this Brahmin in my presence? Nivāsa

Then, there, the householder's son said: "I will strike with a stone, making the king happy." The king told the ministers: "Wise ones, arrange the arena for debate, distinguish this side from the other side." The ministers arranged the arena for debate, distinguishing this side from the other side. Then, the ministers prostrated at the king's feet, saying: "O King, whom shall we allow to go first?" The king said: "This Brahmin is a guest, let him go first." The Brahmin was allowed to go first, and he recited five hundred lineages. The householder's son refuted him, saying: "This of yours is unreasonable, this is inconsistent, this is inappropriate." Thus he criticized him, and the Brahmin remained silent. Among the places of subjugation, such as this, being speechless in response is the lowest. The king said to the ministers: "Wise ones, who is victorious?" "O King, the teacher, the householder's son, is victorious." Then, the king was pleased, and having been pleased, he straightened his upper body, extended his right hand, and said: "In my land, there are such eloquent speakers, my gain is well gained." Having praised thus, he said: "Teacher, where do you reside?" The householder's son said: "O King, I reside in the village of Narada." "Go to that village, you shall enjoy the benefits of debate." The householder's son, being pleased, delighted, and extremely delighted, surrounded by wise people, went to that village. The world desires wealth and does not believe in decline, so there, many Brahmins allowed him to take young girls as wives. Then, the householder's son took a wife from his own clan, and together with her, he played, rejoiced, and enjoyed happiness. As he played, rejoiced, and enjoyed happiness, his wife gave birth to a son with a long body, and his relatives gathered and came, and for twenty-one days, they held a grand celebration of the birth, naming the son, what shall we name him? The relatives said: "This son has a long body, so let us name him Long Body."

Because he grew very tall, this child was named "Tall One," and that's how he was named Tall One. The Brahmin boy, Tall One, was cared for by eight mothers: two mothers who nursed him in their laps, two mothers who gave him milk, two mothers who wiped away dirt, and two mothers who were playmates. These eight mothers nourished him with milk, yogurt, ghee, clarified butter, the essence of ghee, and other various essential foods, raising him quickly like a lotus in a pond. When he grew up, he became proficient in letters, numbers, arithmetic, manual calculation, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and reading. At that time, he was well-versed in Brahmin etiquette, conduct, cleanliness, daily practices, taking ashes, taking water pots, taking earth, gestures, hairstyles, words of praise, calls, definite knowledge, the knowledge of sacrifice, the knowledge of poetry, the knowledge of governance, and the six occupations of Brahmins: performing sacrifices, causing others to perform sacrifices, reading, causing others to read, giving, and receiving. He became a Brahmin proficient in the Vedas and the branches of the Vedas, illuminating his own speech with fire-like wisdom, and able to refute the speech of others. Later, he and a wife who made him happy, joyful, and enjoy pleasure had a daughter whose eyes were like the bird Sharika. His relatives gathered together and held a grand birth celebration for twenty-one days, and discussed what name to give the daughter.
