Having said this. Parents, please be aware! I, believing only in the truth, am going forth from home to homelessness. The two of them said: Son, is it good for you to go forth? Parents, it is good for me to go forth! Son, then go and go forth! Then, the Brahmin boy Nears Victory went to the Brahmin boy Born from the Belly and said: Born from the Belly, come here, we, believing only in the truth, are going forth from home to homelessness. He said: Brahmin boy, did your parents allow it? They allowed it. Nears Victory, my parents only allowed it at that time, what is the reason why your parents allowed it so quickly? Like this, you are a strong bond, a firm bond, an incorruptible bond, thick and sturdy; while I am a weak bond, a small bond, a corruptible bond, thin and fragile. Like this, the venerable Shariputra went forth in five hundred lifetimes, and like this, the venerable Shariputra made this aspiration: May I not be born into a very rich family, nor into a poor family, may I be born into an ordinary family, and may there always be many who go forth! Because he made such a vow. The Brahmin boy Born from the Belly said to the Brahmin boy Nears Victory: Brahmin boy, we are Brahmins of great renown, none of us can go forth, like this, we should examine it well before going forth. Having said this, the two of them gradually went to Rajagriha (present-day Rajgir, Bihar). At that time, the six teachers, including Purana Kassapa, who were not omniscient but claimed to be omniscient, namely: Purana Kassapa, the son of the wanderer; Makkhali Gosala, the son of the black slave; Ajita Kesakambali, the son of the woman who liked to speak; Pakudha Kaccayana; Nigantha Nataputta, the son of Kata; and Sanjaya Belatthiputta, the naked son of relatives, were all dwelling near Rajagriha. Then, the two Brahmin boys, Nears Victory and Born from the Belly, went to where Purana Kassapa, the son of the wanderer, was, and having arrived, said this to Purana Kassapa, the son of the wanderer:

asked. Wise one, what is your Dharma like? What is the advice to disciples? What is the fruit of pure conduct? What is the benefit? The Accomplisher said: Brahmin youths, I see it this way and say it this way: There is no giving. There is no offering. There is no fire sacrifice. There is no good conduct. There is no bad conduct. There is no fruit or ripening of the deeds of good conduct and bad conduct. There is no this world. There is no other world. There is no mother. There is no father. There are no beings born miraculously. In the world, there are no Arhats, who have gone correctly, who have entered correctly, who in this very life, with their own direct knowledge, have directly seen and realized this world and the other world, and who make it understood that we have exhausted birth, have practiced pure conduct, have done what needs to be done, and know nothing beyond this existence. Life lives in this very moment and will later be cut off. It will perish and will not arise after death. The body of a person is made of the four great elements. When he dies, his body of earth dissolves into the nature of earth. The body of water dissolves into the nature of water. The body of fire dissolves into the nature of fire. The body of wind dissolves into the nature of wind. The senses will follow after the sky. People carry the corpse of a person on a five-bed bier and go to the cemetery to burn it, and then it becomes invisible. The things to be burned will turn to ashes. The bones will remain like the color of a dove. Like this, to associate with ignorance is giving, to associate with wisdom is receiving. Those who say there is, all of them are false, deceitful, and base people. Like this, both the child and the wise one will eventually be cut off. It will perish and will not arise after death. Then, the Brahmin youths Nyergyal and Pangne Kyé thought to themselves: The teacher, the wise one, has entered the wrong path. He has practiced the evil path well. Just like a path full of fear, it should be abandoned by the wise. Thinking this, they spoke the verses: Evil-minded, perverse

O speaker! You are known as the one who speaks of inferiority. If his Dharma is like that, what is not his Dharma like? Having said this, he struck it like an empty vessel and left. Then, the Brahmin youths Nyergyal and Pangne Kye Nyii went to the cowherd's son, the wanderer Gala Ba. Having arrived there, they spoke to the cowherd's son, the wanderer, saying: "O wise one, what is the nature of your Dharma? What is the advice to your disciples? What is the fruit of celibacy? What is the benefit?" The wanderer said: "O Brahmin youths, I see and speak thus: All sentient beings become completely afflicted without cause or condition. Sentient beings become completely afflicted without cause or condition. All sentient beings become purified without cause or condition. Sentient beings become purified without cause or condition. All sentient beings become without knowledge and without sight without cause or condition. Sentient beings become without knowledge and without sight without cause or condition. All sentient beings become with knowledge and with sight without cause or condition. Sentient beings become with knowledge and with sight without cause or condition. There is no strength. There is no ability of self. There is no ability of others. There is no ability of self and the ability of others. All sentient beings and all life and all beings are without power. There is no strength. There is no freedom. There is no diligence. There is no overcoming others. The existence of connecting transmigrations is certain. Thus, in the six realms, happiness and suffering are experienced separately." Then, the Brahmin youths Nyergyal and Pangne Kye Nyii thought: "This wise teacher has also entered a wrong path, and is practicing the evil path well. Just like a path with fear, it should be abandoned by the wise." Having realized this, they spoke the verse: "Evil-minded, perverse...
