Those short Vedic texts were elaborated in detail, reducing words and letters, and elaborating on meaning and definite words. The two of them, as soon as they heard of each other, wanted to meet immediately, so the Brahmin boy Nearsur passed by his father, went and said: Father, I want to go to the village of carpenters. Because there is a Brahmin there named the leading boatman, I want to see his son, named the Brahmin boy Born from the Knee. Son, is he wiser than you? Father, he is not wiser than me, but he is very rich. He spoke a verse: Whoever is old by caste, old by age, old by wealth, all these old by learning, wait at the door seeking benefit. Son, if he comes, do not argue with learning. The Brahmin boy Born from the Knee also went to his father, went and said: Father, I want to go to the village Narada. Because there is a Brahmin there named Star King, I want to see his son, named the Brahmin boy Nearsur. Son, is he richer than you? Father, he is not as rich as me, but he is very smart. He also spoke a verse: Whoever is old by caste, old by age, old by learning, all these old by wealth, wait at the door wondering what to do. Son, if he comes, do not argue with wealth. At another time, the festival of the Dragon King Mountain and Delightful arrived in Rajagriha. The custom of King Bimbisara was that whenever the festival of the Dragon King Mountain and Delightful arrived, he would either experience it himself, or send the young Ajatashatru. At another time, King Bimbisara had a small matter, so he said to the young Ajatashatru: Son, go and experience the festival of the Dragon King Mountain and Delightful. The Brahmin boatman was by King Bimbisara Young

The boy Ajatashatru was sent to experience the festival of the Dragon King Mountain and Delightful. Having heard this, he thought: This boy Ajatashatru will become king after his father's death, and the Brahmin boy born from the armpit will become my minister after I die, so serving him will yield fruit in due time. So he said to the Brahmin boy born from the armpit: Son, go and experience the festival of the Dragon King Mountain and Delightful, where there are four seats: the king's seat, the minister's seat, the debater's seat, and the supreme achiever's seat. Leave the king's seat alone and sit on the minister's seat. He went there, left the king's seat alone, and sat on the minister's seat. 1B The Brahmin Star King also heard that King Embodied Heart had sent the boy Ajatashatru to experience the festival of the Dragon King Mountain and Delightful, and he also said to the Brahmin boy Near King: Son, go and experience the festival of the Dragon King Mountain and Delightful, where there are four seats: the king's seat, the minister's seat, the debater's seat, and the supreme achiever's seat. Leave the king's seat and the minister's seat, put hemp and beans on the supreme achiever's seat, and sit on the debater's seat. From sunrise to sunset, there is no other debater like you. He also went, left the king's seat and the minister's seat, put hemp and beans on the supreme achiever's seat, and sat on the debater's seat. When the music started, the dancers sang in the Totaka tune, and the people danced. When they started to sing, the two Brahmin boys let their senses wander outwards. The assembled crowd saw them and said: These two Brahmin boys are either two fools or two who are not in their right minds. The music stopped, and the people danced and sang, and the Brahmin boy

Upanga-born said to the Brahmin boy Nearing Victory: How does it seem to you that the dance is well struck, the song is well sung, and the sound of the musical instruments is well proclaimed? He said: Whoever sees or hears, feels it is good. He said: If it is true that those who have withdrawn their senses do not see, how can they not hear? He spoke the verse: Dead skin and dead tendons, Fleeting laughter and coquetry, Among the gathering of dying people, Which wise person would be reckless? He said: Are you Nearing Victory? People know me that way. The Brahmin boy Nearing Victory also said to the Brahmin boy Upanga-born: How does it seem to you that the dance is well struck, the song is well sung, and the sound of the musical instruments is well proclaimed? He also said: Whoever sees or hears, feels it is good. He said: If it is true that those who have withdrawn their senses do not see, how can they not hear? He also spoke the verse: All ornaments are burdens, All dances are arrogance, All songs are frivolity, All forms are impermanent. He said: Are you Upanga-born? People know me that way. The Brahmin boy Nearing Victory said to the Brahmin boy Upanga-born: Come, let us, with faith in the true Dharma, go forth from home to homelessness. He said: Brahmin boy, for what do you make offerings and give alms? For what do you burn sacrifices? If that forerunner who torments himself with asceticism comes into my palm and is born into a lineage that walks like an elephant, why should I go forth? He spoke the verse: When the trees fall, What can the branches and leaves do? Likewise, when a person dies, What can holding on do? Come, let us, with faith in the true Dharma, go forth from home to homelessness. He said: I will ask my parents. The Brahmin boy Upanga-born went to where his parents were, and having gone, said: Parents, please know, I, with faith in the true Dharma, will go forth from home to homelessness. Son, for what do you offer alms?
