What is the establishment of a Bodhisattva? O sons of the Victorious Ones, here, a Bodhisattva endowed with excellent intention, upon hearing ten dharmas, will have a definite understanding of the dharmas of the Buddhas. What are the ten? They are: Whether praising the Buddha or not praising the Buddha, one will have a definite understanding of the dharmas of the Buddhas. Whether praising the Dharma or not praising the Dharma. Whether praising the Bodhisattvas or not praising the Bodhisattvas, one will have a definite understanding of the dharmas of the Buddhas. Whether praising the conduct of the Bodhisattvas or not praising the conduct of the Bodhisattvas, one will have a definite understanding of the dharmas of the Buddhas. Whether saying that the realm of sentient beings is small, or that the realm of sentient beings is vast, or that the realm of sentient beings is entirely afflicted, or that the realm of sentient beings is not entirely afflicted, or that the realm of sentient beings is easy to tame, or that the realm of sentient beings is difficult to tame, or that the realm of Dharma is small, or that the realm of Dharma is vast, or that the world realm is destroyed, or that it is not destroyed, or that the realm of Dharma exists, or that the realm of Dharma does not exist, one will have a definite understanding of the dharmas of the Buddhas. O sons of the Victorious Ones, this is a Bodhisattva endowed with excellent intention. O sons of the Victorious Ones, one should also truly speak of ten conformities to the Dharma for a Bodhisattva endowed with excellent intention. What are the ten? They are: One should truly speak of all dharmas as being without characteristics, all dharmas as being without characteristics, without entities, without existence, with existence, solitary, without essence, like illusions, like dreams, and without conceptualization. Why is that? Because in this way, it becomes a nature of Dharma that cannot be taken away and greatly increases excellent intention, and one obtains the ability to cultivate oneself in those places where one has previously heard, without relying on others. O sons of the Victorious Ones, this is the establishment of a Bodhisattva endowed with excellent intention. O sons of the Victorious Ones, for that

What is the establishment of the non-retrogression Bodhisattva? O sons of the Conqueror, here, the non-retrogression Bodhisattva, upon hearing ten objects of focus, does not regress from the Dharmas of the Buddhas. What are the ten? As follows: Even upon hearing "The Buddha exists" or "The Buddha does not exist," one does not regress from the Dharmas of the Buddhas; hearing "The Dharma exists" or "The Dharma does not exist"; hearing "The Bodhisattva exists" or "The Bodhisattva does not exist"; hearing "The conduct of the Bodhisattva exists" or "The conduct of the Bodhisattva does not exist"; hearing "The Bodhisattva definitely arises in the conduct of the Bodhisattva" or "Definitely does not arise"; hearing "The Tathāgatas have passed away" or "Have not passed away"; hearing "The Tathāgatas have come" or "Have not come"; hearing "The Tathāgatas appear now" or "Do not appear now"; hearing "The wisdom of the Buddha is exhausted" or "Is not exhausted"; hearing "The three times are of one characteristic" or "Are not of one characteristic," one does not regress from the Dharmas of the Buddhas. O sons of the Conqueror, this is the non-retrogression Bodhisattva. O sons of the Conqueror, for that non-retrogression Bodhisattva, one should correctly proclaim the ten continuums of Dharma. What are the ten? As follows: One should correctly proclaim that all Dharmas are of one nature and also of different natures. Many and one nature, imputing meaning to letters, imputing letters to meaning, imputing non-things with things, imputing things with non-things, imputing no-signs with signs, imputing signs with no-signs, imputing no-characteristics with characteristics, and imputing characteristics with no-characteristics. Why is that? Thus, for the most part, he definitely arises in the manner of perfecting skillfulness in understanding all Dharmas, and also in those places where he has heard the above, he obtains the ability to cultivate himself without relying on others. O sons of the Conqueror, this is the establishment of the non-retrogression Bodhisattva. O sons of the Conqueror, for that youthful one
