The extremely burning, the decaying, the constantly foul-smelling, the extremely destroying, the definitely destroying, and the extremely harmful destroying—these are the hells where those non-foolish Manjushris will be born. Then, the Bodhisattva Samantabhadra asked the Blessed One thus: "Blessed One, where will those who preach the Dharma be born after they die and transmigrate from here?" The Blessed One replied: "Samantabhadra, your question is well asked. Samantabhadra, a son or daughter of good family who preaches the Dharma, after dying and transmigrating from here, will be born in the Buddha-field of the Blessed One Tathagata, the realm of inconceivable power, in a world-realm that is extremely adorned. In that world-realm, there are only Bodhisattvas who are completely beautiful. At the time of death, that son of good family will directly see twelve billion Buddhas. Son of good family, in short, the benefits of that son of good family are immeasurable and incalculable; even thousands of kalpas cannot fully describe them." The Bodhisattva Samantabhadra asked: "Blessed One, in the future, in the future time, what kind of sentient beings will abandon these categories of Dharma?" The Blessed One replied: "Samantabhadra, those sentient beings who will abandon these kinds of Dharma will mostly be ordained ones. They will say, 'These are poetic compositions; these are not spoken by the Tathagata. These are self-made; these sutras have never been heard before.' They will slander in this way, and they will abandon these categories of Dharma. After abandoning them, they will not confess and repent. Those who abandon the Dharma, at the time of death, will be born in the unbearable, all-burning hell for sentient beings. As soon as they are born, iron wheels will cut off the heads of those non-foolish ones, and they will fall to the ground. Having become like that, they will become blind for many kalpas, many hundreds of thousands of kalpas, and many thousands of kalpas. Even if they are born as humans after hundreds of kalpas have passed, they will be born blind in all lifetimes."

without a tongue, with their faces turned backwards, hunchbacked, with sunken necks, lame legs, and voices like the barking of dogs. They are constantly afflicted by hunger and thirst, their bodies are emaciated, their mouths stink, and all sentient beings who see or hear them will find them unpleasant and repulsive. Then, the entire retinue, complete in every way, spoke with one voice, saying: "Bhagavan, we did not recognize, we abandoned such sutras, and we looked upon those who preach the Dharma with angry minds, we confess our faults. Bhagavan, how childish we have been, how foolish, how shallow our wisdom, how lacking in intelligence, we confess, and we beseech the Buddhas, the Bhagavatans, to listen. Then, those great Shravakas, Indra, Brahma, the protectors of the world, the monks, the nuns, the laymen, and the laywomen, were terrified and said: "Bhagavan, having heard such a teaching as this, we are greatly terrified." The Bhagavan said: "Friends, it is indeed so, just as you have said, you should be afraid. Friends, if I, who have attained the wisdom of omniscience, am afraid, what need is there to mention my disciples? Sons of good family, this Dharma is profound, and neither humans, non-humans, gods, nagas, yakshas, gandharvas, nor anyone else can disturb it, let alone other shramanas or brahmins. Sons of good family, this Dharma teaching is a stupa for the world with its gods. Sons of good family, just as one should regard the wish-fulfilling jewel, so too should one regard this king of sutras." Then, Manjushri, the youthful one, said to the Bhagavan: "Bhagavan, this is well spoken. Bhagavan, how will those monks be able to fully receive what is given with faith?" The Bhagavan said: "Manjushri, those who abandon this Dharma teaching and generate unkindness towards those who preach the Dharma

Is it just one day? Or even a mustard seed's worth of property belonging to the Sangha, I would not allow a devotee to use it up, nor even allow spitting or throwing ashes on the ground offered to the Sangha. Then, the venerable Sharadvatiputra said to the Blessed One: Blessed One, are the five heinous crimes near or far from here? The Blessed One said: Sharadvatiputra, do not ask such a question. Why? Sharadvatiputra, it is never the case that one who commits the five heinous crimes abandons this category of supreme Dharma. Sharadvatiputra, one who commits the five heinous crimes will quickly exhaust the five heinous crimes and then be reborn as a human. A person who abandons the sacred Dharma will never attain the Buddha's teachings, for he will destroy himself and others as well. Then, the venerable Sharadvatiputra said before the Blessed One: Alas! How painful are the beings who abandon the sacred Dharma! May I never even see such karmic obscurations in my dreams! Third fascicle. Then, the Blessed One said to the venerable Sharadvatiputra: Sharadvatiputra, do not think like that. The Dharma I have taught is inherent, and the world is the master of karma, enjoying the fruits of one's own karma, and one's own karma is stable. Beings experience suffering due to their respective karmas, and the Tathagata cannot prevent it. Sharadvatiputra, I have taught the path to goodness, the path to happiness, fearlessness, Nirvana, and immortality. However, these beings engage in misconduct with their bodies, misconduct with their speech, misconduct with their minds, slander the noble ones, and hold wrong views. Due to the karma of wrong views and abandoning the true Dharma, after the destruction of their bodies and death, they will be reborn in the hells of evil destinies, evil paths, and those with wrong views. The Tathagata cannot prevent this either.
